as a 6 year old when this came out, I couldn't stop watching it for the flashy lights, racing and glory, but now as a 23 year old who's lived a little bit of life, the story carries alot more weight. for a children's movie, the portrayal of life and love is absolutely incredible. something I'm showing my kid when i have one. ♥

When I was 6, I also watch Cars first movie too. And now I turn 15, Cars still one of my memories. My big cousin brother also watched it previous days ago when my family and I visited at my cousin's house.

The story of The Interstate Highway bypassing a bunch of small towns on Route 66 really happened. I hear that Tourists from outside of The US make up 90% of people who travel on the remaining parts of Route 66.
Thank you! Growing up on Route 66 was great! But things got lean when I-40 took most of the tourists right past our town, making the 1970's both heaven and hell for us in the Southwest. Thx again!

I remember when my mom took me to go see this movie in theaters back in 2006. Still remains one of my favorite Disney/Pixar movies.
how do cars have kids? do cars go to war? were cars ever enslaved in a period of time? was there ever a cars ww2? who was the first car? these are the questions that haunt my dreams.
I can still remember running out of the Cinema screaming due to the sound at the start being too loud for my 3-year-old ears. since then the love for all thing 4-wheeled and fast just grabbed me and has never let go.

I think I watched this movie like 4 or 5 times in two days when It came out on DVD. Doc was my favorite character. I wanted at 1951 Hudson for so many years
1 of my all-time favorite Disney movies, right up there with The Lion King (1994), Madeline: Lost in Paris, Lilo & Stitch, Toy Story, The Emperor's New Groove, & The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
Lilo & Stitch is hugely under rated. I think they'd do a great reaction to that film as well!
CARS is like the movie cartoon version of NASCAR but this is my all time favorite movie along with A Bugs Life
Wow, where do I even begin with Cars (2006)? This movie exceeded my expectations in every way possible and left me feeling so incredibly entertained and satisfied. Pixar has once again proven that they are masters of storytelling and animation.

My grandson loves this movie. He has a car obsession although he is not excited about inheriting my 1973 Super Beetle convertible. There are only 3 that I've seen in the whole county.

As mentioned Nascar was a huge part if this film with the King being played by the real King of Nascar Richard Petty whose character is based on the 1970 Plymouth Superbird he raced in 1970.
The Fabulous Hudson Hornet is also straight from Nascar history with them being dominant car from 1951 to 1954. The real reason they stopped racing them was because Hudson Motor Car was in bad shape and had to merge with another car manufacturer to survive, which sadly including axing the racing program, and later phasing out the Hudson name altogether. Doc was also the last role of the legendary Paul Newman who probably loved racing even more than his acting career.
I still stand by my odd theory about this movie. If you think about it, when McQueen pushed the dinoco car across the line the music sounds familiar. I feel it was Disney's way of telling us that they bought the star wars movie. You've to listen closely to the music at that scene.
There are hella star wars references, since I think they had recently bought lucasfilms at the time
1. At the moment where Ellie was crying at the backstory for Radiator Springs, I’m surprised and impressed she didn’t cry as much as Trixy did during said backstory.
2. First, Trixy cries at McQueen helping the King out, then, Mary Cherry, now, Ellie and Viki.
3. As Viki pointed out, none of these cars in Radiator Springs were that gang of cars from earlier. That gang did get caught later on by the sheriff for terrorizing the town and they had to do community service just like McQueen did.
4. Cars 2 has Alfred from the Dark Knight movies. Just a lil heads up.
5. Wonder where Moon Sugar was at.
6. 95 was McQueen’s number cuz that was when Toy Story was released whereas 86 was Chick Hicks number cuz 86 meant you’re fucking someone over. A.K.A. Doing an 86 on someone.
7. Mack points out during some movies that the cars are all watching that they’re using the same actor over and over. More specifically, John Ratzenburger who Mack speaks bout and who voices Ham the piggy truck, the abominable snowplow, and P.T. Car. He gets upset bout Pixar using the same actor over and over and wonders how it could be a cut rate production.
8. During the movie, Mater mentions the ghostlight twice but there’s a clip where the sheriff tells a story bout the ghostlight and scares the shit out of Mater. Everybody pranks Mater by having a lantern as the ghostlight, which Mater responds that he knew it was a joke the whole time.
9. Those bug cars are actually Volkswagen beetles, a car shaped like a bug, hence the name. Volkswagens just like Filmore, that bus that Viki likes.
10. Since Lia really took a liking to cars themselves, I knew she would like the movie as well.
11. I kinda liked the second film back then better than the first film but now, I like the first and second films equally and I can’t wait till all y’all see the other two films.
12. If Moon Sugar does see this film, I wonder if she is gonna see it wit Magy and Laura.
13. There’s a Cars 4 coming next year.
14. I’m impressed that y’all knew bout Route 66.
15. Just so y’all know, while the first and third Cars films are just simple racing films, but second film is more of a James Bond film and they even got a song on the soundtrack from a band called The Cars from the 80’s.
16. Tractor tipping is exactly like something called cow tipping where bullies would literally push cows over on their side.
17. McQueen’s job of fixing the road was said by Doc to take five days but the fourth day is where everybody noticed that McQueen had finished his job which meant that McQueen only fixed it for three days.
18. I wonder how Mater went from blue to brown.
19. I kinda like Mater witout a hood cuz wit it, he talks like his nose is plugged or congested.
20. Toy Car Story is Toy Story which all three of the girls as well as Moon Sugar, Laura, and Trixy all saw. Monster Trucks Inc. is Monsters Inc. which Viki, Laura, Moon Sugar, and Magy all saw. A Bug’s Life is, well, the same title only wit Volkswagen beetles which all of the girls have yet to see, prolly sooner or later.
21. Those vans as well as a Volkswagen Beetle were all in a post credit scene still lost and fucked up by the desert.
22. The Piston cup is a parody off the Winston cup trophy.
23. Radiators, carburetors, and pistons are all parts of cars. All those names are called something from a car. The geniuses that existed back then, especially wit Pixar.
24. The first race was 400 laps. The last race, however, was 200 laps.
25. “Float like a Cadillac, sting like a beemer,” was a parody catchphrase off of the real catchphrase, “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee,” by Muhammad Ali.
26. I still wanted McQueen to win that last race. It’s always a wonder why he let Chick win in the first place, no joke intended.
27. Mater drives backwards again in the second film and everyone is impressed by it.
28. Unfortunately, Doc Hudson is dead in the second film and has been dead ever since.

28:21 route 66 is really a road every one need to travel once in their. Your comments about the views are correct. Going through Arizona is breathtaking😊. People really underestimate that area. Saying it's only flat dirt. You'll never feel so small, so humbled, so AT PEACE, than you do looking down over the vast desert. Bluest skies you'll ever see, the mix of reds, gold, green, purple across the landscape. The movie I think nailed it as far as showing that beauty.
As a racing motor fan myself, I simply LOVE this movie.
And when McQueen pushes the King so he can finish his last race...I almost cried.
I live in Arizona near the Grand Canyon. The scenery animations in this movie are very accurate. It's beautiful here. 😊

Every time I see the sequence about how the interstate highway system has killed the majority of small town USA, I cannot help but cry.
Trivia note: At the end of Finding Nemo, there was a message that said "In Memory Of Glenn McQueen," whom was a Pixar staff member that had been around since the beginning. Well, Cars 1 came out right after Finding Nemo, so they named the protagonist Lightning McQueen in honor of Glenn.

The Cozy Cone motel is a real place called the Wigwam Motel
Its located in the my Hometown of Holbrook Arizona
Each racing car and even the announcers were modeled after a real life person. Wrecking other cars no it isn't allowed but it happens. The story about the small town nearly closing up is true. Old Route 66 when built went from Chicago to Los Angeles. Lots of small towns along that route when families drove cross country years and years ago. The freeway was built to save drivers time but unfortunately the towns were bypassed and drivers never had the opportunity to stop. This ruined a lot of business and many towns became ghost towns just closed up. This movie brought a lot of attention to that problem so in particular near Arizona going to the grand canyon tour groups started stopping off in small towns and revitalized them. Exit ramps are widely marked plus even signs pointing to historic route 66 are clearly marked. If you ladies ever get to the USA I do a tour group to the grand canyon that includes lunch in Williams Arizona and of those small towns. Could be a great video for your channel

I used to love this when i was smaller...i had to wait until it came out on dvd in order for me to watch it because back in 2006, i was only five years old
Because of my age, I’ve only seen these movies as an adult, and they’re clearly not “children’s movies”. There’s so much to like about this film franchise for all ages. From the damn good quality of animation to all of the facets of storytelling that different people of different ages can truly appreciate and enjoy.

This is the best thing i ever seen
