    Fun fact:
    The voice of Edna Mode was going to be the voice actress for the character of Ms. Frizzle from the Magic school bus. To convince her to play the part, Brad Bird did the voice of Edna Mode. When she heard it, the voice actress convinced Brad Bird to be Edna’s voice in the movie

    • @mevb
      @mevb Год назад +10

      Yeah, she said "What do you need me for? You already got her!" refering to Brad's scratch voice for Edna. He also did scratch voices for Bob and Syndrome before casting Craig T Nelson and Jason Lee. In fact, both Bob and Syndrome were slightly based on Brad Bird's look for their design.

  • @jessetorres8738
    @jessetorres8738 Год назад +85

    40:25. Syndrome acted like a superhero for only 1 minute & he made 3 major mistakes:
    1) He threw threw the truck behind him without caring if it would crush anyone or explode.
    2) He started celebrating that he damaged the robot despite the fact it wasn't defeated yet.
    3) Once the robot attacked him he fled in the direction of the civilians he was trying to save.
    It's no wonder that after the Incredibles & Frozone defeated the robot later no one seemed to remember Syndrome or care he was missing.

      A fourth: He forgot that the Omnidroid could learn from what happens and what its target does, in this case that Syndrome's gauntlet controls it. He should have programmed in that it would know Syndrome is his master and therefore not really attack him but pretend to. First time I saw the movie thought the Omnidroid was betraying Syndrome because Mr. Incredible guessed earlier that it got smart enough to wonder why it should obey orders.

    The Parr family has specific and unique superpowers for a good reason. They are metaphors for the traditional nuclear family.
    Bob Parr - The father, the strong foundation of the family, indestructible, dependable defender
    Helen Parr - The mother, the multi-tasker, always being flexible in order to solve many things at once
    Violet Parr - The teenage daughter, often feels invisible, shy, insecure, won’t let people get near her
    Dash Parr - The young son, full of life, energy, compulsiveness, wanting to push the envelope, can’t slow him down
    Jack-Jack Parr - The infant, unlimited but unknown potential, can become anything he wants

    40:57 It's a learning robot. It figures out due to it's artificial intelligence what is a threat to it, how it is a threat, and how that threat can be removed. It determined that it lost an arm due to the remote, and since Syndrome was wearing the remote it determined him to be part of the threat, so it was determined to destroy them both to preserve itself.

    The Incredibles was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, as the story was so good.
    It's a rather profound look into how "different people" are treated by the majority or "mainstream society". In this case, the "supers" are people who have great gifts and are simply "better" than everyone else. They are made to renounce their greatness just to conform to society. They have to be mediocre like everyone else.
    The film is also a great rendition of late 60's, James Bond-like themes and music, with fantastic technology and mysterious villains who threaten the world. GREAT FILM!! 👍👍

    The two old men who says "That's old-school!" "Yep, no school is like the old school." are caricatures of two of Disney's Nine Old Men, Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, and they actually voiced them. The Nine Old Men were the nine top animators at Walt Disney Studio since Snow White (they became directing animators during the production of Pinocchio) and the final film any of them would animate on was The Fox and The Hound, marking the end of the old era and the beginning of the modern animation era (Johnston and Thomas were those two last animators of those Nine Old Men). Beside Thomas and Johnston, the Nine Old Men consisted of Ward Kimball, Marc Davis (Best known for animating Tinkerbell and Cruella de Vil, after 101 Dalmatians he switched over to WED Enterprises to work on rides for Disneyland, including The Haunted House and Pirates of the Caribbean), Milt Kahl (who was Brad Bird's mentor, he won an animation competiton in his youth and got to work with Kahl, describing him as nice but tough as he wasn't afraid of telling young Bird what his flaws were at animating, giving him constructive critisism), Les Clark, Eric Larson (who would train new animators in the 70's and 80's), Wolfgang "Wollie" Reitherman (who became the director of Disney movies between the late 1950's up until 1981 and was in the old era the only Disney director who directed several movies on his own) and John Lounsbery.
    Sadly, Frank Thomas died before the film was finished, so he didn't get to see it.

    Snydrome was inspired by Batman and Robin but the overall film was inspired by Superman because Brad Bird is a huge DC fan I mean his first film The Iron Giant was basically a love letter to Superman I hope you guys react to The Iron Giant and some more Superman films they are really good

    The fact that the main villain murdered all those super heroes for being turned down is psychotic. No normal person would go on a mass killing spree just because someone said no.

    The Incredibles has been one of my favorite movies since it was released, and when you grow up you realize all the issues that the film touches, which, to tell the truth, although it was made for a child audience, touches somewhat strong themes, such as the genocide of superheroes made by Syndrome, how society sees superheroes, many times more as the cause of problems, in short, quite a few things that we have already seen in series like The Boys, Invincible, and even in movies like Civil War, and one could even say that it is a precursor of all the aforementioned.
    The second movie is not that good, but at least it is entertaining, and you should do a little more research on the movie, since there is even information about the heroes that Syndrome killed, and it is very good data, as well as a short film about what happened with Jack Jack and the nanny.

    Funny... this has a 1950s feel to it, yet it wasn't until the late 60s and 1970s... especially the 70s...that the public began to grow dissatisfied with superheroes, to the point of bringing legal action against them ( at least that's how it was in DC and Marvel-published stories of the time).
    And what did they expect all the supervillains to do... retire?

    The syndrome could have made the 10th version of omnidroid, and invulnerable to its own claws, then the movie would have ended differently, and the 10th version turned out to be stupid, while they were flying to the city, he could have destroyed this remote 100 times.
