OH yes!!! This is J.Geils band at their tops. Saw them over 50 times easy. All over the country. 2018 and Peter still performing singing and dancing. One of the best performers in Rock n Roll ever.
Agreed Wolfe is in my top five any day along with Iggy,James Brown and of course Angus
I feel at this moment, there was no better front man than Peter Wolf nor abetter live band. The Sanctaury album was heavy, dark and riveting.
The original bad boys from Boston. What unbelievable talent. Stephen Jo Bladd is a hugely underrated drummer
Amen!!!!
Yes- the original bad boys from Boston !!!!
No one could party like woobu gooba peter could be a outstanding lead singer like the best he worked and rocked the crowd with the best really if you have seen them you know what I am saying blow your face out is one of the best live albums of that era 76to 78
Peter was from Da Bronx. i lived on bronx park east same block as his mom.
One of the greatest front men ever
The best live band EVER!
I saw them quite a few times myself in the 70s. What a blast that was.
They were awesome, but the doors are the best band ever
Always great to see an old Geils video! They were awesome! RIP JG.
Saw them at the Boston Garden in "80 or '81. They opened with "Just Can't Stop Me" and they didn't stop for 3 hours. Still the best concert I have ever been to
I saw them at the Garden right around that same time! Great concert!
You can't stand still at a J.Geils concert, seen them twice and they get the crowd in a frenzy!
Just one last kiss
Before I walk out the door
I'm gonna hold you tighter
Than I ever did before
And I, I never promised you
The things you promised me
And I, I can't justify
The way it's gotta be
And the good times are the best times
The bad times fade away
The good times are forever
But now, baby, the last time is today
Just one more night
There's no time for anymore
I'm gonna tell you something
That you've never heard before
But I, I can't find the words
To ease your lovers pain
And I, I know the feeling's gone
I can feel it in my veins
And the good times are the best times
The bad times fade away
The good times are forever
But now, baby, the last time is today
One last kiss
And the good times are the best times
The bad times fade away
The good times are forever
But now, baby, the last time is today
One last kiss
This band's music makes ya want ta drink, smoke, party and have a blast!
J. Geils Band, Full House Live album, nothing else has to be said!!
I saw the JGB twice. First time as the warm-up band for Black Sabbath in 71 - they stole the show. The 2nd time at NY's MSG. George Thorogood was the warm-up band....J. Geil's brought the house down.
"One Last Kiss' got a ton of radio play here in the Los Angeles market in late 1978/early 1979, and then followed up with the 'Love Stinks' album in 1980. Great times indeed.
The best band to ever rock and roll. Why are they not in the hall of fame? WHY? The best band ever to see live. Thank you for this video. I want more.
Like Steve Miller said ''the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a JOKE!!!
Hall of fame don't deserve them there is all the other bands and geils
This is rock and roll at its best!
Just a whole lotta amps of awesome. The mighty J. Geils Band on a rocket to the sun...
Brings back memories: Saw the J. Geils Band in April, 1980 at the Richfield Coliseum, (Cleveland-Akron) Ohio. Was on my FIRST date (at almost aged 18 then). Cannot believe that was almost FORTY TWO years ago! “We are getting old!”😵💫😃
"The good times are forever..." RIP John!
Guitar is crying ! So beautiful 🥀
Awesome Band. Period
It's crazy over the past few years I keep coming back to watch this. I just love watching this performance. This and live vids of them doing Looking For A Love and Sanctuary. Just can not get enough. Love love love this.
Just wish there were more good quality videos of them live.
Sanctuary Tour was the 1st of many times after that i saw them. They Blew me away! Awesome!!
Saw them on Sanctuary tour...tight, tight, tight!
My go to song on the jukebox at soda shop after soccer practice! I was in junior high in Thailand half the globe away - that's how massive these guys were back then.
Eed them now😢
saw these guys at the richfield coliseum in richfield ohio right about the time this was recorded.
i so miss those days...
GREAT song on an EXCELLENT album!!!
These guys are definitely a great band. Reminders of a great time.
So good for my soul. I'm writing a movie and I put this song in it for a flashback scene of 1982.
How is the screenplay coming along? Is your movie being produced? What's it about?
@@squirrelattackspidy produced? No. I write masterpieces about the past and the music that made us. I cram my films with entire songs, each one different but with recurring characters. The songs are so pivotal that I would say even the characters and story serve the songs as much as vice versa.
@@dangoudreau7366 Sounds cool. Are any of your films produced yet? I'd like to check them out. I like seeing movies with great soundtracks from the 70's and 80's. Some of my favorites are Grownups 1 & 2, and Dazed and Confused.
Oh Yes, Memories for me too. Liked that Band and saw them Live as well!
Still in my heart, the J. Geils band
Awesome performance.
One of my favorite J. Geils Band songs.
!!! Classic !!! J. Geils Band.
Thanks !!! Friend.
can't get enough of this video... loved this band, one of the best live bands ever!
The Best!!
I love this song.
as a young concert goer in the 70s we in what was referred to as the glass city ,toledo ohio had been treated to many visits from this band from boston. however this being said, there is not soul who doesnt know of the legendary detroit shows. cinderella ballroom comes to mind. "serve you right to suffer. serve you right you gonna live a long time .but i digress. love this tune i was 16 yrs old that year
I saw the JGB on tour back in 1980 (or '81?) just as they were starting to break REALLY BIG in the US. They were already an FM radio mainstay, but had just broke out with "Love Stinks"..absolutely great band and Peter was a great
frontman...saw them at the old Curtis Hixon Hall in Tampa, FL when it was just across from the University of Tampa...
BUT more importantly (sorry JGB?!) was the opening band!!!...just getting the developing college rock/alternative crowd was a little known (at the time!) unit from Ireland called U2!!!!!....yes that U2!!!...on their first (?) major US tour...
Even though most of the crowd was stoned/drunk waiting for JGB (hey, it was a college crowd.) when I watched U2
I knew instantly that singer was going to be a HUGE STAR!!...he just had the "IT" factor!!!...
I was not too sure about the rest of the band or their songs (at the time...I know, what an UNDERSTATEMENT!)...
but THAT guy was going somewhere.....
AH, good times....
They were not getting really big in 1980-81. Their last album, Freeze Frame, was released in 1981 and Wolf left in '83. J. Geils was already big when I saw them in July '73 in the NFL Patriot's old Schaefer Stadium. Bloodshot was released earlier that year (on a red vinyl LP.)
Great live band!
U2 opened JGB @ 82 WorldsFair knoxville tn. Just good times. RandyRhodes last show, Dio with Sabbath, Heart opened for JohnCougar, GregAllmanBand, BlackFoot opend for MollyHatchet. 17yr old fun, i'd do it all again!
R.I.P. J.GEILS
Man these guys sounded amazing live. Although I'm from Boston I never went to see them. Something I'll ALWAYS REGRET !
hall of fame, come on man...!
Yes
They had to make room for Joan Jett and Tupac
It has to be the Hall of Shame
good times in the 70!s
great music
thans friend
Blow your face out is the best live party album of all time!
Saw these guys at the Club Paradiso in Amsterdam. They brought the house down.
I was there too. April 1979. Best live show I ever saw. So much energy, three encores, unbelievably good drummer, Pete, Jay, Magic Dick. It does not get better. Got on the tram afterwards to go home and realized that my friend and I were YELLING at each other. We were so effing deaf but absolutely worth it.
This would be a band to see if I had a "time machine." Wow!
Ear-catching and Eye-catching!
Great Sound!!! It trakes me back to memory lane. Why dind't I ever player that song with my band at the 2000's? We had such a great harmonica player....
Summer of 79 on Cape Cod !!!!
The explorer and dicky on the ole honk! Gonna be a damn party!
great music !!!
I miss my dad
❤😊 Listening with happiness, good old memories
J. Looks boss with that beat up flying V, wearing black with the leather vest.
Splendid!!
ohhhhhh I like this brand.
I just can't say enough about thee J.Geils band . My brother took me to see Frampton in 76' on my birthday . Completely blew the roof off Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix AZ. Frampton had to come on after them with his tail between his legs . Sorry Peter but Geils ROCKS !!
Saw them in 1972 Charleston S.C. Fk. Awasom!
The good times are forever rest in peace bill
เลิศ..ดนตรีและคำร้องมันลงตัวกันมากชอบอ่ะโดยเฉพาะตรง the goodtime and the badtime..
These guys looked bad ass! All America with swagger, rock band! I recall this song was written by Peter about his break up with Faye Dunaway. The lyrics are soooo true. Years later when you look back fondly and longingly of an ex gf you loved, you forget all the bad times, the bad things that were said and done fade away and you only remember the good times. Then you say to yourself, You d*mb bleep! Ya F ed up! She was the best thing that ever happened to you! Then...The bad times come back and you say, F that bleep! She did this, she said that! F her! haha
looking back J.Geils was the party band of the era. this was my personal fav not that gobledygoop cheese they unfortunately are remembered for.
Nice song. Thx
They should already be in the rock and roll Hall of fame (WTF)
The harp speaks.
The woba goba blow your face out one of the best albums of the decade
I saw them at the Hofstra playhouse weeks after the release of Bloodshot. Will never forget it.
Perfect
Great quality on this video for its time
And the best thing about the JGB (besides Peter Wolf and the huge afro hairdoos on the band (this was BEFORE hair
metal!)) ...
was that the harmonica player is named "Magic Dick"!!!...
AH....good times in the 70's
No bullshit most people don't even know dig it
Peter Wolf was a D J for Boston FM

Not all bands can pull off a live performance most actually sound like crap. Except of course the J Giles band they were the masters of live performances. Gotta love Peter Wolf one of the best frontman ever.

Among my regrets in life - and there are quite a few - is the fact that I never saw this band live.

Love the band
Love the song
Love the memories of those days
The good times WERE the best times indeed

The " for your love" lyric that Peter ad libbed had to be a reference to Keith Relf singing For Your Love in the YardBirds song with that name.
