Collins just casually walks up the stage in front of a huge crowd, sets his capo at the right fret and proceeds to play a killer solo in middle of a song that is not a standard of his repetoire. Forever legend.
Oh yeah... I don't know if you know anything about playing guitar but he tuned up to open F sharp minor and put the capo on the 12th or 14th fret .... Mr unconventional !!

George is painfully underrated with his sound and showmanship. At 72 years old he is still touring. I saw him last year in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Troy, Ohio... a month apart from each other. He works very hard.
Incredible isn't it? In terms of gigging musicians, there's really nobody like them. They do somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 shows a year. Three hundred!!! And they've been doing that for DECADES. The passion they have for the music, their fans, and the crowd is unparalleled.
I saw him about 2 weeks ago in concert, for the first time finally after all these years. In my hometown, around the corner from where i live. It was great!
I was 17 and in that crowd, just graduated high school, the summer before college. If I remember correctly, George was a surprise as he wasn’t on the promotional list of the performers. We were big George fans too, so this was a bonus for sure. Plus Albert Collins to boot. We played a lot of pool in those days, so we loved his Bad to the Bone video of course. Best concert of my life.
I confess my ignorance. It was the first time that I saw a performance by the fabulous guitarist Albert Collins. Result: I became a fan and had the happiness of seeing him live four times even though I live in Brazil
Indeed. I saw him just a couple years ago. He brings energy, joy, and commitment to his performance. He's either a great actor or every show is the most important he's ever played.
Saw George in Fort Wayne last year Foellinger Theater. I had front row seats stage left. George looked at me and my 2 friends. We all saw his blue eyes. Thanks George. You won't be forgotten.
