Lakitu's working overtime on this one. Inspired by the latest Mario Kart 8 DLC pack and the scene featured in one of the recent Super Mario Movie trailers, I wanted to fuse the most iconic parts of every rainbow road tune into one song! The other Mario Kart games I haven’t seen, just read about.
Oh and I played one of the real old ones on NES or SNES at someone else’s house once, but I don’t remember it that well.
I love the buildup to N64's theme at the end. It truly is THE Rainbow Road theme.
N64 rainbow road is the true rainbow road it's always at the the end of the game.

i love rainbow road medleys because not only are the songs great, but there's really no other track in any OST that can give you nostalgia and anxiety at the same time
Honestly, they generally give me more hype/anticipation than anxiety
There are two reasons to cry about Rainbow Road...
This is the good reason
My best guess is the other reason is from how easy it is to lose on these stages, SNES especially
Bad reason is getting hit by a blue shell while on the loops in MKDS
The second reason is dying on Wii Rainbow Road.
The N64 one was completely fenced.
There’s one spot where it’s possible to go over the fence, but it almost never happens, near as I can tell.
Also it has chain chomp.
The bad reason is being a noob in any mainline game except 64 and Tour

Rainbow Road has usually been my favorite Nitro course of a Mario Kart game... I still remember playing with my siblings and best friend on the N64, the Gamecube, and the Wii. Though the times and people associated with them may have passed long ago, even just having turned 23, I feel the memory will forever remain. And this song is a wonderful reminder. Masterful work as always, Noteblock. Thank you.

Rainbow Roads are imo the best reocurring themed mario kart tracks in the series. They're usually the hardest tracks in the game and in addition to that, having such magical music along to it makes all the RR tracks an awesome experience, much thanks for this remix!

I have to admit one thing. When I entered the video, I went into it with a thought: "I hope he doesn't let me down with this medley, because it's my favorite song franchise." And what I can say is that you simply broke barriers and made one of the BEST REMIXES, spectacular bro.

This is just pure beauty. I'm a space enthusiast, which makes Rainbow road my favorite track in any Mario Kart game, and let me tell you. This is perfect. The calming, peaceful moments building towards the epic and wonder-filled parts make for a truly spectacular experience listening to this.
This was beautiful. I don't think words can properly describe the joy and nostalgia this remix made me feel. Just about every Mario Kart for me is associated with pleasant memories of me and my family racing against one another. I do not know why, but the moment you dropped the arrangement for N64 version, I uncontrollably started crying.
I mean, Mario Kart 64 was such a huge part of my childhood, so there could be that nostalgia kicking in, but I have heard several remixes of Rainbow Road 64, and most have never caused me to cry like yours. There must be something amazing in your remix for that to happen.

Y’know, when you’re not constantly raging from the fact you keep drifting off the edge or getting knocked off the track by a blue shell or bullet bill, Rainbow Road is quite beautiful.
No matter how many times I hear it, that ending transition to N64 Rainbow Road gives me chills. This entire medley is a beautiful celebration of the track that has meant so much to us through the years, thank you for this.

In my opinion the double dash rainbow road still has the best OST of them all by far. Just the instruments alone are magical. I was almost a bit disappointed with this medley when you didn’t use the main theme from said GameCube one.. until the end. Amazing work als always!

Playing n64 rainbow road on my switch with the nintendo 64 game with nintendo switch online just made the ending so amazing. Well done noteblock for making a masterpiece for all us mariokart players

Fact: if you listen to the Wii version of Mario kart very carefully, You can hear some notes from Good Egg Galaxy (Super Mario Galaxy)
I have a rather complicated relationship with Mario Kart. It's the one game series that still makes me rage just as much as it did when I was younger to the point where I've pretty much stopped playing them entirely. But at the same time, it means so much to me. Mario Kart Wii was quite literally the first experience with video games I ever had. As hard as it might be to believe, up till that point, I genuinely didn't even know video games existed. Mario Kart was quite literally the introduction to what has become an indispensable part of my life. Rainbow Road specifically has a lot of significance to me. It was the track in Mario Kart Wii that got me frustrated the most. Getting gold on mirror mode for the special cup was easily the hardest part of 100-percenting the game; but the joy I felt when I did, when I finally mastered Rainbow Road, was incredible. However, my preference lies in the Mario Kart 7 version of the track. The first time I played that track, I was awestruck. The concept of gliding through space, driving around the "rings" of a small planet and then on the freaking moon amazed me. And the music, the beautiful music that complemented the track so well, was just the cherry on top. Rainbow Road, and Mario Kart as a whole means so much to me and that theme, specifically the melody that starts at 0:27 and again at 4:40, serves as a permanent reminder of it all. And I would be lying if I said I didn't tear up a little at the part at 4:40. So NoteBlock, if you're reading this, well first off thanks for actually taking the time to do so (sorry with the length, I got pretty carried away). And secondly, thank you for making this and for reminding me of where my love for video games started all those years ago.

I've always had a personal bias towards Mario Kart Wii, and anything involving it. Noteblock, you've met this bias' standards, and even exceeded them, with not only that song, but every single song in this medley.

I've been wanting a rainbow road medley for so long, so seeing my favorite musician make one makes me happy
My favorite out of all of the Rainbow Roads will always be Mario Kart Wii.
I actually don’t have the words to describe my thoughts and feelings on this, but I’ll try my best. After my disappointment of Wave 3 giving 3DS RR a disco vibe, this has successfully filled my gaping hole for an emotional, new but old, rainbow road remix, and you have more than outdone yourself here.
From starting with such an emotional 3DS that Wave 3 wishes it could ever come close to, to actually making WiiU sound amazing and almost like an anime opening, to having N64 play on top of GCN, this is amazing. If I wasn’t so biased towards GCN then I’d probably complain that it got too much time, and vice versa for DS, but even that only makes me want more.
My only disappointment is that this isn’t longer, as I would’ve loved for SNES, GBA and DS to have gotten the same treatment as Wii. Even just finishing off the tiny bits missing of 3DS and WiiU would be amazing. I know you don’t typically do this, but I just keep thinking about what an extended cut of this would be like
TL;DR easily top 3 remixes you’ve ever made, KEEP IT UP!
