I’ve had literal family members never talk to me because I beat them at 200cc Grand Prix (And by beat them I mean they get practically last and I get 1st or second them they baby rage and blame their loss on me)
Everybody's talking about the Dire Dire Docks at 2:22, but I just wanna call out the absolutely incredible homages to the Luma theme that show up in this theme too, at 2:49 and 3:45, as well as the arpeggio in the latter area which sounds very reminiscent of the item pickup sound. Just overall an incredible remix of an incredible song, and one of my favorites on this channel.
Alot of the instruments Qumu uses to make the remixes are so spot-on and fit so well with the themes! I've listened to many remixers, but Qumu is by far the best one in my opinion.

I’ve only just found this channel recently and I’m so glad I did. I’ve listened to so many remixes of this song and they just didn’t capture the magic of a Rainbow Road. This one, on the other hand, not only captures that magic but enhances it. And the little homage to Dire Dire Docks made it even better. This is a masterpiece.
Idk why, this makes me so happy but so sad at the same time because when I was younger I used to play this game all the time with my cousins and we played rainbow road a lot. Just a lot of memories with this song specially 😊
It took me about 5 minutes to realize that no, the little melody at 2:22 was not from Celeste, but actually from Dire Dire Docks. It sounded so similar in style :o ...also a Celeste remix would be epic, though I know that’s a bit out of your way :p

Im not gonna lie, I got lil emotional listening to this mix the first time. It brought back a lot of childhood memories of me and my little brother playing this game when we were kids. Also, I can feel the passion behind this mix. Great job, @Qumu.
I must say, I'm very impressed by this remix. It stays faithful to the original instrumental composition, while also variating in unique and interesting ways. I would not have expected a violin to replace the "electric guitar" of the original, or xylophones for the first part, but they work spectacularly and fit in quite well here. They're unique, but keep the character. I have a bit of a bone to pick with MK8's rendition of this song for that reason. The composers gave it such musical depth that some of the original is lost in translation between string crescendos and trumpet solos. Your remix has no such trouble. My hat is off to you.
I think the part that I love so much about your songs is how you are able to keep that synthetic N64 sound while elevating it to modern sounds. So many remixes completely use orchestral music and it loses its identity.

After many, many listens... is that the item box roulette sound effect kicking in at 2:53 and 3:54? Between that, the Dire Dire Docks from SM64 (2:22), and the Luma from Galaxy (2:48), it's just too much nostalgia to handle!
Seriously such a beautiful remix! It pulls forth all of my N64 Mario Kart nostalgia...even the time my sister accidentally wound up in first after purposely jumping off the Rainbow Road track and landing much farther along!
Man, I will never forget the feeling of what Rainbow Road was like or at the very least the music. It brings a lot of joy to me knowing I loved to play Mario Kart and this would be in the background. You felt like you would be in a dream like state playing nothing more than a nintendo video game classic. Thanks for uploading this. It brings nothing but nostalgia and awe.
Rainbow Road music, especially from Double Dash, is the most beautiful among them all. Also this remix is way too amazing, I can't describe it. I get goosebumbs all over my skin and feel like being the small kid again - playing Mario Kart for the first time. So, thank you for this beautiful remix, Qumu~
Things I noticed that made this remix very special: - The nod to Dire, Dire Docks / Jolly Roger Bay in the background melody during the soft piano part. - The item box roulette sfx playing with the beat of the song near the end - Most of the instruments felt like they were very similar to the instruments used in the original song but slightly edited. Overall, 10/10 remix, I loved the entire thing
my little brother got me into Qumu. this remix right here gives me so much nostalgia. Rainbow Road 64 is my favorite Mario Kart song and probably my favorite course. i find myself coming back to this remix over and over and just experiencing pure bliss every time. incredible job.
most of qumu's SMG remixes have a "a hat in time" touch to them but this MK64 remix has a "celeste" touch its either inspired by those other songs or its very similar, which gives me a nice aesthetic
The nostalgia brought me to tears... amazing remix! The first video game I've ever played was Mario Kart 64, and Rainbow Road was by far my favorite course, despite how long it is. I've always loved the fact that it was in space or something... I love space. Super Mario Galaxy also brings heavy nostalgia, especially Good Egg Galaxy.

I must say, I'm very impressed by this remix. It stays faithful to the original instrumental composition, while also variating in unique and interesting ways. I would not have expected a violin to replace the "electric guitar" of the original, or xylophones for the first part, but they work spectacularly and fit in quite well here. They're unique, but keep the character. I have a bit of a bone to pick with MK8's rendition of this song for that reason. The composers gave it such musical depth that some of the original is lost in translation between string crescendos and trumpet solos. Your remix has no such trouble.
My hat is off to you.

I think the part that I love so much about your songs is how you are able to keep that synthetic N64 sound while elevating it to modern sounds. So many remixes completely use orchestral music and it loses its identity.

Man, I will never forget the feeling of what Rainbow Road was like or at the very least the music.
It brings a lot of joy to me knowing I loved to play Mario Kart and this would be in the background.

Rainbow Road music, especially from Double Dash, is the most beautiful among them all. Also this remix is way too amazing, I can't describe it. I get goosebumbs all over my skin and feel like being the small kid again - playing Mario Kart for the first time.

Hello, I'm from the year: 2024
Things I noticed that made this remix very special:
- The nod to Dire, Dire Docks / Jolly Roger Bay in the background melody during the soft piano part.
- The item box roulette sfx playing with the beat of the song near the end
- Most of the instruments felt like they were very similar to the instruments used in the original song but slightly edited.
Overall, 10/10 remix, I loved the entire thing

my little brother got me into Qumu. this remix right here gives me so much nostalgia. Rainbow Road 64 is my favorite Mario Kart song and probably my favorite course. i find myself coming back to this remix over and over and just experiencing pure bliss every time. incredible job.

its either inspired by those other songs or its very similar, which gives me a nice aesthetic
The nostalgia brought me to tears... amazing remix! The first video game I've ever played was Mario Kart 64, and Rainbow Road was by far my favorite course, despite how long it is. I've always loved the fact that it was in space or something... I love space. Super Mario Galaxy also brings heavy nostalgia, especially Good Egg Galaxy.
