I was not interested in the 14s and was looking at 15s and 31s, but after your vid, Bro you've changed my mind! 2 x 14 plus the PBM / TNVC is my new choice. Awesome vid, bro, thanks!
👍 If you start looking at binos again, I’d pass on the -15 and only do the -31 if you’re dead set on it. You can get a bino like the NVD-BNVD or DTNVG/DTNVS for WAY less $ than the -31 with diopter adjustment so you can get clear focus.
@@NITEWALKER-NIGHTVISION Great info, thanks! But from this vid and your other, with the non-powered mount, you basically sold me on this system. I really like the versatility it offers. @@Miami_Bad_Boy_BOSS It’s fairly heavy so just keep that in mind. I’m not trying to convince you not to get lol. I love dual -14’s and still have some plus binos. It probably cuts the AA down to 20 hours for both -14’s. It’s tough to recommend where because so many dealers are back ordered. I’d look at JRH Enterprises & Night Goggles. They’re both offering XLSH tubes and you can get new -14’s with XLSH white phosphor for $2,500-$2,700 which is a decent price. Tell them you’re getting them to run as a pair so they match them.

That Rhino II with the dovetail mod, seems to be a popular rig; I just saw a vid on it, where the guy is showing how to remove the current Bayonet and replace it with a dovetail.
Probably too late to add this comment, but it would be interesting to see a review of the Norotos DDA bridge. It's $185 by itself, but requires 2 DDAs. Probably not optimal by the standard of these other bridges, but still an intriguing design for anyone that may already have 2 DDAs on hand.
Would Gen2 D14/LW D14 provide same level of alignment as NPBM since they have higher nubs? It also comes to my concern that over extended use if the anodizing one those nubs are worn out would they accidentally shut off the 14s
Foster Liu It does and locks up solid. The issue I had with the Gen 1 was that sometimes it would move on me if the screw loosened up. I don’t think you’ll have a problem with it shutting off if.
Can you remove one of the arms of the IC/D-14 Lightweight for use with a single pvs-14? I plan to get one pvs-14 initially then add another down the road. If an arm can be removed then reinstalled I could use it with one nod then reinstall the second arm and add the second pvs-14 when that time comes. Thanks for the vid.
That’ll be too heavy to be comfortable. You’ll need a good amount of counterweight and you’ll better mounting options on a bump helmet plus you can get 4D pads to make it more comfortable
Thanks for the video! Man now you got my wheels turning. Question what would you do if you had a pretty nice Gen 3 Green Phos. device, and you where wanting to upgrade, but at the same time, your wife wants to get into training with NOS.? Do I go for it and buy a $5k White Phos. unit and just always run them separate? Or do I buy another Green Phos. like the one I have for cheaper, and a dual mount so I can run them together when she isn't using them (She won't use them near as much as me) any thoughts would be great! Take care!
That's how we got started with one -14, then a 2nd and dual bridge mount. We'd each run a -14 and I would bridge them together when it was just me. Then we went into another -14 and then another and then ended up with binos. Long of the short is that dual -14's are a great way to gradually get into a dual tube device versus spending all of the money at once on binos, however, you will most likely end up with binos. So, it's worth skipping ahead to binos IMO if you can do it. I still like running dual -14's but a dedicated lighter goggle is more comfortable. The weight of dual -14's is too much for most people. I've talked to a few guys who've run white & green together and they said the primary color they see is whichever one is over their dominant eye. I wouldn't gamble on it personally and just go for well matched tubes with the same phosphor color.

Munky332 The only gen 2 stuff that I’ve seen that is good are the Photonis Echo. @@NITEWALKER-NIGHTVISION bah I just read the updates, darn.... also have you heard of the MACHOS mount? It's meant for dual pvs-14 and is made in Australia. Its kind of cool and maybe they would be willing to send you one to review?
I'm not sure if the NVM rail will work as is or if you'll have to modify it to work with MUM rail interfaces but that's the only option I know of - dual bridge mounts with MUM rail interfaces. The D-14 you can order with Breach arms which use a MUM style interface. Wilcox and KVC also have MUM style interfaces you can use with them but they are an additional price.
wolf0060 Dedicated binos are a better system for dual tubes but dual -14’s have their place. It’s an easier stepping stone for some people to slowly work their way from a single -14 to two with the bridge and then later possibly putting them into a binocular housing. I would use the QD D-14 often to quickly detach a -14 for videos & pics. They’re also great for preparedness individuals for the redundancy of two complete operational monoculars. If I could only do dual -14’s or a bino, I’d personally go with dual -14’s, for the ability to split them up. The Mod-3 is a good option also for being able to split them up.

wolf0060 10-4, I see where you’re coming from. Not every dealer is accommodating but I suppose if one was willing to do it, you could send them the -14 and they could eyeball a match for it. Is it an L3 or ITT tube? One issue with dual -14’s with ITT tubes (aka Elbit, old Harris) is when the time comes to go into a bino housing you’re limited to ones with gain control. Some dealers will do the modifications to make it work inside a no-gain housing. The L3 tubes have removable pigtails so you can use them in any housing. If you won’t have a need to split them up, honestly going with the DTNVG is the better option if you can spring it
