In this remake of the classic 1960 oater of the same name (itself a Western remake of Akira Kurosawa's masterpiece, The Seven Samurai), seven gunslingers join forces in order to protect a small town from a mining tycoon (Peter Sarsgaard) and his goons, who plan to seize the residents' land by force. The seven-man army is led by a mysterious bounty hunter (Denzel Washington), and also includes a sharp-witted gambler (Chris Pratt), a troubled ex-Civil War soldier (Ethan Hawke), a mountain man (Vincent D'Onofrio), an expert knife thrower (Byung-hun Lee), an outlaw (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and a Comanche warrior (Martin Sensmeier). I love every time Denzel kills someone in any movie, he makes it super personal and makes them reflect on what they did before he kills them. He’s just the equalizer in every single one of his roles and I love that
To me he is always Creasy.

Sorry.. didn’t see movie but watched all 10 clips and more. I didn’t see that (the look in his eyes) until you said it. I thought it was more of shock…that the guy he had been looking to kill was right in his hands and could have closed the door to the relentless feeling of bringing justice to that man. And after all that time it wasn’t him that got to kill him. But,.. I dunno. Like it either way

The shot where he puts his hat on and slowly lifts his head until you see his eyes is perfect. Its not too fast, its not too slow.

Sam takes his hat off to show the Lord respect before entering his home. He ponders for a moment, and then puts his hat back on because he will be disrespecting God anyway by murdering someone in his home.
I'm not saying that's what the direction is in that scene but it sure looks like that way to me.

Jesus threw apart a market built in a temple of God. The purification of the lord's house ought to be righteous enough for the God fearing man to enter and smite the evil dweller.
The whole movie Denzel's character is cool as ice under all pressure but finally he gets to the man that killed his family and he let his emotion/passion take hold. Completely understandable obviously but it also almost got him killed. I like little story/character details like that.

I have no clue how people hate this movie. It’s harmless, gives just enough character to the cast without suffocating the audience, has great Western action, and doesn’t infringe whatsoever on the original unless you’re THAT picky about the storyline. Not a perfect 10 but a 7 I’ll always enjoy when I see it on.
They really should make a Denzel Washington movie where he plays Bass Reeves.

I like how when Denzel leans down to talk to this D-bag his eyes are gone. Most of his face is hidden in darkness, very nice touch he’s turned into another person now no longer the same.
This is the fun of it all. You can watch any move where Denzel is the main character... And you will know it is good. My start of Denzel was with Crimson tide. Man.. I have never been dissapointed. GREAT actor... And you know what... GREAT Person and amazing speaker... And always respect for God. Denzel... One of the all time greatest!

You should check out book of Eli, the equalizer 1&2, man on fire, unstoppable, taking of Pelham 123, crimson Tide, deja vu, safe house, and 2 guns all awesome Denzel movies
If any movie deserves to be called a 'horse opera' it is this one. The exaggerated expressions, the death in a setting heavy with symbolism, monstrous bad guys and noble heroes.... all that is missing are the singers.
This was Man on Fire and Equalizer put together.
That almost went like The Mountain vs Oberyn Martell. Almost. By an inch.
She avenged her husband's murder by killing Bogue.
In my opinion, Chisolm deserved to kill him more than see did. He lost more than she did to Bogue

Just realized that the villain in this movie was Peter Saarsgard and he played an awesome villain, and I can’t wait to see his character Gil Colson in The Batman because the fact that he said that his character is gonna be a lier in the movie makes me extremely excited.

I just finished this movie and I love it!
This part is satisfying he finally got his (sorta) revenge. It's funny that Bogue (Villain) begs for God's forgiveness when he first disrespected God by burning the church it's ironic. When Chisolm begs him to repent his pride can't take it that's how evil he is..
I'm glad they won in the end but there is still sadness all those men laying around whether they are good or evil, both lose.

And among the townsfolk, she was one of the better marksmen, and her target was also stationary.
Actually; it was already established that she was an excellent shot earlier in the film, when she was joined by Farraday while practicing at the river. Remember ... her daddy taught her.
