Denzel was superb in this movie like he always is. One of the greatest actors of all time with that presence on screen! I prefer this to the 1960 version.

The 1960 magnificent seven does not really have that effect on me but this 2016 remake does! Faraday had to help Chisolm without him noticing otherwise he could have been shot. Chisolm saw him helping him from the mirror but that never made them friends in these seconds. He holster the gun in such awesome speed, excellent scene and awesome western mannerism from Denzel. His accent leaves guys like Brad Pitt in total shame.
After all that peaceful violence and soothing killings, I'm so glad Fandango used the black bars at 2:25 to preserve my tender sensibilities from any sort of upsetting sight.

1:38 If you look close there's no firing pin on the hammer of Faraday's gun. This is probably a Ruger Vaquero that they used as a prop, the newer Ruger revolvers use a transfer bar firing system so that the revolver can hold 6 rounds instead of just 5. If there was a firing pin like on the older 1873 revolvers and it was holding 6, the firing pin would be resting on a live round's primer. Not a good idea.
Damn, I loved this movie and this scene was brilliant. For some reason, it reminded me of the videogame call *GUN* from Playstation2. Fun western game. I would pay good money to see a sequel to this movie if ever made possible 😎

Pity the outlaw Sam was looking for turned out to be the bartender. I took a real liking to him. I was hoping it would be one of the bar patrons instead like that guy standing across the table at 1:00.
Denzel’s draw makes no sense he has his pistol on his right hip butt forward like he going to draw left handed across his body but he draws it and shoots with his right. So he has to grab the gun with his hand in between the handle and his body, draw the gun while flicking his wrist so the gun is pointing forward instead of behind him
