Love the shade for "Ashes to Ashes." This worked because the actress playing Lindsay was fantastic. "11:59" had me bored. "Death Wish" also marks a significant change in tone for how Mulgrew portrayed Janeway. Prior to this episode she played the Captain as jaunty, hyperactive, and fast talking. With this episode, we get the highly empathetic, smooth-talking, and quiet Janeway who used her non-verbal acting skills to say loads.

From this list, Flashback (Classic Trek’s great!* And Tuvok learns how important loyalty and camaraderie is), Q2 /Deathwish (A Q episode never disappoints), Pathfinder (always liked Barclay; Lwaxana Troi was far, FAR more annoying) are the standouts.
    * the novelization of Flashback also had a meeting between Tuvok & Capt. Spock, which should have been added to the actual episode IMHO.
** Regarding Distant Origin, Marvel Comics’ Star Trek Unlimited #1’s story, Action of the Tiger, had a similar tale, with Capt. Kirk & Mr. Spock meeting an Earth anthropologist who violated Gorn territory to prove a hypothesis of how the Gorn may have been descended from Earth’s dinosaurs had they not been wiped out.

I have to admit that even when Voyager was on the air I got annoyed at how many episodes were about Seven. Don't get me wrong, Seven was a great character and was wonderfully portrayed by Jeri Ryan, but even as a 14 year old seeing back to back Seven episodes I was going "okay, just ho many ways are we going to talk about reclaiming lost humanity?" Besides the dead horse argument my thing was that the over all character arch eventually became rather unreliable as while its an interesting and very big concept to toy with, most viewers have not taken part in wiping out whole cultures and people and after exploring the same concept over and over and over again it eventually even gave me a soft spot for Spirit Folk. What's wrong with just screwing around on holodeck every once in a while?
