Lmao, in the first clip you can even see him hit the hotkey for slowfall at the right moment once he realised he didn't make the jump, but he had no feathers in his bag... truly a tragic circumstance.
Nah, the arrogance beforehand makes me enjoy his death. If you're gonna act like that, git gud.
Not having a 7copper reagent is FailFish
I didn't even notice the first time i watched it.... yea he even hit the hotkey for levitate but just didn't have any light feathers haha
I'm happy that he dropped like that, rat rogues deserve it.
That's a priest
The Herod death got so scuffed because the Tank was a lvl 35. He couldn't hit the damn guy so he lost threat to priest heals. And then since he's so low he pulled those other mobs.
Imagine going in to a HC dungeon underleveled
I do confirm, I was the priest that died in this clip. We somehow got persuaded to do Herod by the rogue, that was so dumb of us xD painful death tho
@@ThnLbt dude, I was one of the warlocks :( im so sorry you died ! 100% the rogue pressure us (lvl 34/35's) to try a red lvl 40 Herod lol. Everything resisting.
Cherry on the cake he was the first to bug out but that's undead rogues for you
@@memeadam yeah the idea was bad af. I should’ve thought for myself tho:) hope you journey was a success!
@@ThnLbt well now you know... 37+ for arms, 39+ for cath for your tank. that rogue rat behavior got me fuming, but you should have known better than to try and have a lvl 35 tank herod when herod is red level, warrior simply cannot hit him and thus no aggro can be established... MAYBE if the warrior had used retaliation he could have clutched some aggro but nah, you guys were out of your league here.
still doesn't change the fact that it was the rogue's idea and he's the first to bail, and then laughs about it on discord thinking he's a champion for ratting like that.
Horde has a quest that sends you to the Southshore graveyard. Many more will be killed by those guards.
I dont think a lot of people understand that attacking makes the mob go further. They think there is a leash point and the mob will reset even if they are attacking. There is so many people that keep attacking and running.
that's how it works on many private servers, that might be the reason
And retail
@@tobivan3190
Doesn't retail also have a leash distance? Where they only go a certain distance.
Like I learned this at age 14 on my hunter in the barrens 17 years ago lmao.
Keep em coming Asmon, so thankful for these 👍
had to look up light of elune, saw this awesome comment on wowhead from 2007
"I have a female warrior character (appropriately named Cautious) who is not "allowed" to die. If she does get killed, I delete the character and start over from scratch. I am on my 14th attempt now and have managed to get her all the way to level 46 without dying.
I picked up this potion as soon as I could safely complete the quest and have been holding on to it ever since as my last line of defense. Just today I was in the Swamp of Sorrows doing an easy quest around the Pool of Tears when I got ambushed by Somnus. Within moments I had lost 2/3 of my health and would've definitely been a goner if I did not have this potion on hand. Otherwise, I would've been back to level one once again! Now if only I could get another one..."
Wholesome
This is why wowhead must be kept alive, I love reading the old comments
beaut!
Absolute gigachad, doing hardcore when there was no community to care.
0:18
What’s even more heartbreaking is you can see he tried to cast Levitate but was out of Light Feathers
better than hydra yep
better than ezra
😂😂😂
Which video has the hydra
@@ruskyhusky69😢
The best part about this is he could have lived with levitation
Title: WoW Classic hardcore deaths I haven't seen yet
Asmon 0 Seconds into the video: "wait. didnt i see this?"
to be honest a lot of things happen at the place like we all know the beer guy will fall down the elevator another 5 times this day proply when hes at 9 beers
didn't expect a comment like 7 months later but yeah. Comment was meant in a sarcastic way but I get what you mean
2:00 that was honestly pretty nice seeing asmongold laugh that hard like that. i wonder whats the hardest hes laughed on stream like.
This is exactly why I NEVER go near Southshore. Those guards aggro you from miles away.
I really, really enjoy your reactions to these hardcore videos, they really make for great content and I hope you keep doing them!
Imagine being publicly advertised as being killed by the Sewer Beast.
Farmed by it, even.
Thank you for making these vids. I thoroughly enjoy them when I’m on my lunch break @ work.
15:20 "Wait... wait.. wait!" is not the thing you wish to hear when you just jumped after a countdown 😂
Didn't the Southshore guards get their level buffed because of all the world PVP in the zone? And then the horde have a quest that requires them to get near, it's just directing horde toward a death unless they know not to do that quest.
Several quests like that in classic. Be careful before accepting a quest! Lvl 15 mage quest will wreck you with 4 lvl 17s if you don't know what u are doing
Love the Half-Life 1 scientist imitation at 7:25
Trolling the leap of faith quest is so good lmao
Hyper spawning was definitely in original WoW, remember it well.
I feel it was one of the first things patched into the game when players complained about being unable to do quests, having to wait too long for respawns, or kill-stealing. It was mostly because everyone was in the same lower levels at launch.
It's all based on mob availability versus players in an area. I remember areas where you kill the enemies only for them to be back a minute later in high pop areas, such as Dead Mines. Was great for farming back then.
It was a feature added with the release of the Burning Crusade for those reasons, it was not in vanilla wow. I would have loved hyperspawn when farming in the plaguelands or silithus back in vanilla.
Priest at start had no levitate feathers. why. what the hell
Easily some of the best content on youtube. The screen shot with the whole party kia except that one dude - it was like something from Aliens.
That warrior using retaliation and running away, then changing to 1h and shield but still facing backwards to the mobs... XDDD Jeez....
Using retaliation instead of intimidating shout 🤣
On Classic release I died on the jump quest, so its possible to die there.
i have done it multiple times without dying but i did hear of that i think back when it initially launched due to the massive server load + tons of glitches they hadn't patched yet caused it. But since it did happen everyone hears/recalls and that quest is bad mojo lol.
Yeah I also died here making a horde on the 2019 classic servers. Had the quest and everything and the quest didnt update mid jump
through the past 20 years i have done that quest many a time, and never once have i died due to lag.
if you choose to do this quest while the server is clearly shitting the bed to the point where you can't interact with npcs, the mobs are standing still hitting you 40 yards away etc. its time for some self reflection.
this quest works every time when the servers are stable, and usually the dead giveaway (how you can tell whether they are stable or not) is by looking at how long it takes for your character to be ported up to the top of the mountain.
if you talk to the npc and the spell animation happens but it takes 10+ seconds before you're actually teleported, that means the server is shitting the bed, which in turn means "don't jump".
honestly at that point you either hearthstone or log out and come back when the server is stable.
another dead giveaway to see whether the server is stable or not is to simply cast any spell or buff and see whether it happens as its supposed to or not.
@@ZugzugZugzugson NO, it wasnt laggy, when I did that quest, wehen I remember this correctly.
I just started a character on HC, I know it will get difficult and mistakes will be made, but so far the hardest thing is getting the mobs you need for the quests, it's so busy.
It does seem like the respawns happen faster in HC compared to what I remember in Vanilla.
They do, if a mobs die too fast the game force spawns more in so people don’t have to wait for respawns
Some mobs have instant respawn timers so aye, they do spawn more often
Yes that is by design to help out with mobs in the new servers so everyone is not waiting around for mobs. I’m sure it will be turned off here in a few more weeks when player base dies out.
there's a couple of caves/zones where the respawn rates are through the roof, even with hyperspawning taken into account.
some worthy mentions (mostly for horde side at least) are the harpy cave in 1k needles, hillsbrad foothills town hall, the harpy zone in the barrens, the harpy zone in stonetalon mountains, the pirate ships in STV the naga area in STV, all the troll camps and caves worldwide and im pretty sure the orc area for alliance (the area with the raiders in loch modan i think?) are notoriously unforgiving as well.
@@ZugzugZugzugson I've had 10+ mobs spawn one after the other, every time one died a new one would spawn and instantly aggro to me
WoWHC need to have ghost like soul games, where it shows how a player die
Keep an eye on that dude who watched his whole party die. If anyone remembers this is how Kirito became a badass 😂
had no idea about the less than and greater than keybinds for youtube. thanks asmon!
The deadmines clip was so scary and amazing. Pretty good awareness by our druid boi.!! 🎉😢😂
It baffles me how unaware some players are especially since they're playing hardcore? I'd be the most cautious person on the planet
Obviously we are not gonna watch videos of overly cautious players using throwing knives to pull grinding green mobs.
You only play cautious the first 20 minutes
2:30 this is the mage from a few vids back, he survived the UC elevator right at the beginning of the vid, sad to see him die like that. Gl next time
> running straight away from the enemies instead of side strafing
> popping retaliation and shield block even though you can't parry or block attacks from behind
2:00 that sound effect on deathlog is what made that death funny.
1:35 This is the clip of a person who almost died accidentally, thought about it and decided, "You know what? I think I'm doing playing this game."
lol the armory one where they ran back and forth from herod's room is where i heard benny hill music xD
😂 the sound effects he was making running from the human guard tho comical 😂
I agree with the cave respawns, I wont even go into a cave solo as a huntard because they're a death trap. Shit spawns so fast and you get boxed in.
I cant die as a hunter its most op class for hardcore. Konda booring tbh
And you need room to shoot.
@@freddiet8639 Your not something special.😆
@@forsakenjones4695 you too
ngl i just started playing wow this year and watching you makes playing the game sm better if that makes sense
I got a notification today that lvl 60 died to UC elevator... now that must have sucked.
I have never played wow but it is so satisfying listening to him call out shit that he knows from playing this game forever
Those Southshore guards have a stupidly large aggro radius, which wasnt present in vanilla. It also doesn't help that the horde has many quests that take place around Southshore and one in its graveyard.
F hyperspawns the 1 gnoll I attacked turned into 3 on death then 1 spawned every time 1 died
I almost wanna just make a character and go around and try to witness hardcore deaths in the wild
Eventually becoming one yourself, in the process for someone else to behold.
Circle of -life- death
"if your friend tells you to jump off a cliff, would you?
I love these so much. 22 minutes well spent :)
3 of the highest spots ive noticed on horde is skull rock, centaurs in barrens and sons of arugol silver pine
Oh wait none of them kill more people then undercity elevator
I like running as tank in HC, but I survived too many times like the druid in deadmine to realize no matter what you do you get blamed.
If I caused the screw up, I will gladly die with the team, otherwise, don't expect me to sacrifice my character.
2:36 “krijg toch de tering” 😂. Always nice to see a fellow Dutchie.
Altijd, :D
Hard to judge the Herod clip without the full context of what happened before the clip starts. That the healer has agro and has burned through all their mana suggests that the the rogue and warrior were slow getting out of the axe spin and needed a lot of healing, but we don't see that happen. because the clip has been cut to not show the lead up.
Yeah there's so much I'm confused about in there, especially the fact that somehow the group of mobs outside the boss room were alive? Your speculation that Priest was oom and with aggro because dps stood in bladestorm is probably correct, especially since we see the POV warrior walk into it for absolutely no reason before anyone decides to flee.
I think the tank was under leveled. Couldn't hold aggro so they panicked
@@LoudWaffle That pat outside the room is normal, they spawn when the boss is pulled. Have been wiped there in the past (not HC) when the boss got pulled and the shaman still had totems out in the corridor
the priest commented here and provided context.
apparently the tank was lvl 35 so herod was red level'd to him, thus he could not establish threat.
more context: the rogue that ratted out was the guy who talked the group into trying it, which makes the fact that he was the first to bail even harder to swallow.
the rogue telling the group to "run" was a double whammy because everyone and their mom knows guards spawn in the aisle outside herod's room EXCEPT for that rogue, apparently.
the absolute gall he has to make calls when he has no clue how the dungeon works is disgusting.
also his voice was beyond annoying to listen to, exactly what you'd expect from a rat/rogue player.
@@ZugzugZugzugson
Thank you for the additional information.
I say it often and I have to say it again: I absolutely hate when people talk as if they know stuff, when they know that they don't know anything.
If I was that priest I would have flat out denied and as member of the group I would have warned everyone to not follow that fool, because he is an obviously clueless player who doesn't know anything.
I could watch you watch these deaths everyday hahaha
what a best title, theres about 90 of these on classichc channel so expect daily reacts
The guy at 21:30 sounds exactly like that weird doll in the ad losing its one euro. "De lijn commercial" or something.
best thing with deadmine's mines. don't do that quest.
7:23 swiftness potion up, slow fall ready to use, he could've just jumped down the waterfall with slow fall
Taking off in the middle of an dungeon is EXACTLY something Asmon would do lol
People need an add-on for guard patrol radius. LOUD alert.
dude asmon is like the afterlife arbiter of hc souls that got vanquished and he deems if they are honor worthy to be remembered in asgard or be shunned like loki for their ill intentions
Priest forgot to levitate. Lmao
Does nobody carry feathers for levitate lol
These always make me laugh. Love your reactions Hahahahah
1:16 I would have jumped right away. Mainly because I know the quest since you always do that after getting the air totem as horde shaman
same. leveled many shamans in non-hardcore and done that quest every single run without it glitching out on me even once.
and in case it does glitch out, that's an actual appeal case because the game is literally telling you to jump, so if it bugs out that's on blizzard.
There's a reason I'm not going to Thousand Needles on my HC characters, and the first 2 minutes is why.
I know so little about wow this is a rewatchable series
7:28 swifness pot up... shoulda used it
Note to self: NEVER go to hillsbrad.
Last clip was good group of dudes, having fun.
I originally had the same reaction to the rogue Hearthstone from Herod but after looking at it better the warrior was lvl 35 (5 levels below herod) and could not hold aggro at all. The priest had aggro and was already 20% mana, rogue already used evasion and vanish, presumably he easily ripped threat off the warr, tanked with evasion for a bit and then vanished. This is where we start seeing the fight and judge him for HSing out.
This HC highlight clips are great but a lot of the time much of context is missing.
Rogue probably spent evasion and vanish just to let them all skip that pack of mobs outside of Herod's room. Rogue gets aggro by himself, Evasion pops, group runs past them without taking any aggro, then he Vanishes to completely drop the mobs. That's the only way I can imagine they're fighting Herod with that group of mobs still alive, unless the whole group /afk'd for literally half an hour outside Herod's room until the mobs respawned.
And it's also possible that Priest had aggro and no mana because dps were standing in Bladestorm, like the POV warrior did at the beginning of the clip.
Either way this was definitely a looooong series of mistakes, and it's frankly a miracle that 3/5 of them even survived it. I would never enter a dungeon if the tank was that underlevelled.
@@LoudWaffle Well the pack outside spawns when you pull Herod and despawns once he's dead, it's some sort of anti cheese mechanic and some other bosses in other dungeons have the same thing
@@zhadez10 Ohh interesting, I had no idea about! Thanks for the correction.
@@zhadez10I know Onyxia has something pretty similar.
Today I learned RUclips allows frame-by-frame with < and > buttons.
MOAARRRR! More of these!
People think retaliation is like thorns or something. You can’t counterattack mobs when you’re being hit from behind lol
The first clip has me in stitches
what addon is he using at 20:10 for the UI ?
That war in SM ran out and scooped those mobs up like he was helping
About that second Southshore death. Didnt he have a swiftness potion?
Mental note. Play night elf rogue if i try hardcore.
I love these WoW Natural Selection clips
5:45 "Oh who is this" 😭💀
What is the unit frame addon at 3:18?
18:38 - saving this for later lol
Z-axis damage still around in retail
😂😂 what was that video Asmon did a couple months ago with that farting noise while someone was talking??
So hilarious
Hard-core realms: killing not only characters but headsets as well😅
0:19 what bag adding is this?
What is he streaming on? I checked twitch and most of it was awhile ago.
On classic i was like 39-40 lvl on my rogue. Every team member died except of me on Herod. And what to do - you can actually run circles with him and use throw a few times. He will start spinnig from time to time and will never catch ya. I burned like 2k of his health just using throws. Easy peasy. I am a legend.
Respawn rate adjusts to number of ppl in the zone would help fix it
The priest in the beginning really ran around without feathers for levitate, talking shit about skills🤣
Buddy and I used to 2 man dungeons all the time! Quite the challenge
Upload the videos of you doing it on your hardcore!
Yeah the jump off I wouldn’t have jumped ether haha
Why were they 2 manning Gnomeregan? That seems like a recipe for disaster. This is one of the harder dungeons, even for an at level group, only one that beats it is Uldaman for being at level. There is just way too much that can go wrong very easily, especially in the final hallway before Thermaplugg.
If it weren’t for my swiftness pot I’d be dead at level 27 by an ashenvale runner (I got to close to on my undead forgot it was there). Crazy how many people prioritize a useless health pot over swiftness almost every time..
health pot is usually the safest "oh-shit" button overall. you can still get dazed while under the effect of swiftness pot, so its risky no matter how you look at it.
WoW just wasn't designed with hardcore in mind, so some game mechanics like respawn were designed to work well enough in general, and when someone dies it's no big deal.
The sped up scurry cracks me up
"Prove your bravery" quest suddenly feels real on a hardcore server 🤣🤣😭😭
Has Asmon himself played classic Wow Hardcore yet? i am a player from years ago, high end WotLK.. but even classic didnt get me back. But watching all these videos, it seems so much fun and i am thinking of downloading it for HC. Anyone else?
gotta be honest with you, the fact that all your hard work can be lost at any time gets the adrenaline pumping. hardcore is very different from the vanilla experience.
you have to attack the problem in a whole different manner. every mob pull needs planning and calculation, you constantly have to take respawn timers into account, you constantly have to be aware of your resource bar (mana, energy, rage), health bar and cooldown timers as well as any and all "oh shit"-buttons you might have, such as health pots.
RNGesus can completely ruin your day as well, depending on the mob you are fighting.
if you're cool with the idea that death = game over i'd definitely recommend giving it a go.
if you're the type to rage when losing a game, i'd say don't do it.
i'm on my 5th character atm and if there's one key lesson i've learned, its that patience and awareness > anything else.
do not mess with elevators, do not mess with zeppelins, do not mess with terrain when you are up high (such as when questing in thousand needles) and don't take silly risks to get that rare mob who will drop a useless green trash item anyway.
when you go afk you log out unless you're in a safe zone like a city or town.
Mage not using a speed pot vs southshore guard rip
I died to sewer beast yesterday at level 12 LMAO
Title: "WoW Classic hardcore deaths I haven't seen yet"
Asmon in the first second of the video: "Didn't I see this?"
So the guy who left on rhe zep... has the deserter buff now right!?
Duel =/= Mak'gora. In a duel, you auto forfeit at 1hp, and no debuff if you flee the duel.
@@mootboot Yeah it was just a harmless funny troll clip, but with the tension of expecting either of them to fall off the edge at any moment.
stanknoob doesnt kill the low mobs.. they would have lived if he killed all the other mobs off..just attacks the 1 robot the whole time. Theres a mob at 34 health for like over a minute...
