Question:I try to find book sources explaining what is sabre rattling in the 19th (18th?) Century context. Would you have book recommendations where there are explanations on it? Thanks :D

I don't know of any specific books but the term "sabre rattling" (Säbelrasseln in German) is closely tied to European dimplomacy and military conflicts. The term usually refers to agressive threats, both verbal and in terms of actions.

Joseph Feldmann and Franz Chalaupka are two sources worth mentioning. Feldmanns book being better than most of these mentioned in this series including St. Martin.

As far as I'm aware there is no translation for the manual as of now. If I ever have the time to make one myself, you'll hear about it. Others might be quicker, tho.

OCR doesn't work properly on the available scans and also because it's in blackletter. A clean transcription is what you'd need for that first, which is what I have been working on for a while. What you pasted above would actually be "militärische Fechtkunst vor dem Feinde". Cheers!
