I was a big Sandra Dee and James Darren fan after watching the first Gidget movie when I was very young. I also remember seeing Bobby Darin sing “Mack the Knife” on television and he was a great singer. I think Dodd favors his dad but looks more like his mother. You favor your biological father the most. I imagine Bobby Darin looking like you if he hadn’t passed away so young. I pray you and Dodd eventually meet. Y’all are half brothers and should at least meet. Neither of y’all had anything to do with how y’all’s dad lived his past life but it’s wonderful that you now know who your father was and that you have a brother. Good luck❣️

Thank you for this so beautiful and informative video. It is wonderful, that you add the song at the end of this! I found myself, with tears running down my cheek while watching and your telling about your thoughts. I love this song so much! Being a parent myself, I know how much it means for a me as a parent, that my children are always there for one another, and love each other, no matter what. What a beautiful lovely message you send out to your brother. Bobby loved children, and Sandra was pregnant more than once but sadly lost it. What a comfort it would have been to Dodd Darin, to have a brother or a sister at his side, when your father died, much too young. I hope Dodd someday will allow himself that great joy and comfort, of meeting up and bonding with his closest blood relatives, that is my wish for both of you - and in my heart, I truly believe Bobby would have wanted it too. ❤❤

I agree, Dodd's book is very good (and informative for someone like me, who wasn't yet around during Bobby Darin's time). The book was, as they say, unputdownable. Got it secondhand, too. He doesn't write much about his own experiences, growing up, preferring to shine the light on his famous parents. It's one of the things about him that I'm most curious about and hope to discuss with him someday. Meanwhile, he seems to have come out of a rather challenging upbringing unscathed and that's great news! Thanks for your nice comments!

Have you noticed in Bobby’s speaking voice he has a New York accent but he also has a New England accent layered into it? I believe that’s from being raised with his grandmother. And being influenced by the other New Yorkers, that he grew up with.

Astrological very good combination although they probably didn't know it and were both involved with different people. You can see the charisma in that TV show which was one month after the folk album was released and the month after Kennedy was shot.

There have been many entertainers who inpregnated a woman & did not marry the mother. Robin Gibb had a child with the housekeeper as did Arnold Swartzneger. Maurice Gibb had a son with some woman & that son has come forward and identified himself after a DNA test as Sam has done.

I was struck by the way your mouth moves. You and Bobby and Dodd, all three move your lips the same way while talking (you and Bobby are the most similar). Another trait you three have in common is a warmth to your personality that shows you are smart and compassionate. Interesting how genetics work.

For a chuckle, people should seek out this author's postings on other videos of mine. But for all the respectful folks out there who'd like an answer, it's this...It wasn't "me" doing the "claiming"--it was my biological mother, Lillian Sweet. As I've written, that Bobby Darin was my biological father sounded suspect to me, too. But in my quest to learn the truth, people came forward to corroborate that assertion. A few years later, DNA evidence showing my relation to KNOWN Darin relatives confirmed it was true. From what I could gather, Bobby Darin didn't know he fathered other children, so there was no "denial" on his part. Any other offspring's' existence does not take away from YOUR "claim" that Bobby adored his acknowledged son, Dodd, which, look, you don't know for sure, but I, too, believe he did, according to what I've read and been told by Darin family members. By posting these videos, it's my desire that people celebrate the gifts (interpret that how you wish) that Bobby Darin left this world "decades after his passing". I wish you only peace, commenter.
