Holy cow I just made my own Kirby! Good first model to start with and then progress from there. Skipping the toon shader stuff he almost looks like a 90s promotional Kirby.
its pretty handy the tutorial, but im having difficulties adding the toon shader. When I append it it doesn't work, it just makes my kirby black, idk what to do
Decent tutorial but in some parts you go quite fast / don't really mention any hotkeys you use for example around 3:10 looks like you even cut past which texture type you used
when i go into render view, the toon map doesn't show up, only flat colors. i've added a spot light and camera as well as per your tutorial, and same thing. any help?
hey thank you for this wonderful tutorial!!! I was wondering if this shader setup gonna work in cycle engine somehow? When I change it to cycle my kirby just turned into a pink glowing ball with no shadow
It wouldn't, because of the way the rendering works in Cycles. Because of Ray casting, there isn't really a reason why you would want to use cycles instead of Eevee for this particular shader
Having trouble rigging the hands and feet to the armature. im going into pose mode and parenting the bones but when I move the bone Kirbys hands/feet don't move
Is there anyway you can share the rig? :D This is a little too advanced to follow for me, but I need a kirby rig for a personal project. I'd make sure to credit you :D Thank you!
Check the other comments with around that same timestamp and you'll see that I use O to turn on proportional editing and then just grab the vertex and move it like any other object!
If you press O, you'll see a button light up blue for proportional editing, next to that you can switch from linear or spherical or in this case inverse square interpolation.

Nice!
It's so fun learning so much new stuff.
I'm new to blender. Thank u
No problem! Glad we're getting new people in the blender community!
6:43 the animation is sooo cute
Thanks 😄
THANK YOU SO MUCH I LEARNED ALOT❤
kirbys head/body doesnt rotate when pairing the bone to it, the rest of the body works
That's pretty cool, I'll definitely use this!
Thanks! Hope you enjoy using this model! If you use it, feel free to show it off in the showoff tab of the discord!
THANK YOU SO MUCH I LOVE YOU!!!
This is so very neat and cute! I love it
Glad you liked!
Hello, where can I find the file to have the cimbination of colors?
so so cute thank youuu:)
6:10 how do you select object and pose at the same time?
Bro makes it look so easy ☠

This good stuff thanks!!
Make sure to see the video of me putting this model to use in a game if you haven't already!

1:50 Where's the armature option? Doesn't show up when I right click.
I might have a different option because of the Rigify addon or one of the Extra Objects Add-ons, if that helps

Make sure your correct materials are applied and all your nodes are linked up, else I dont know what the problem could be

How do you do the feet your to fast
1:10
I'm trying to figure out the same thing
Having trouble rigging the hands and feet to the armature. im going into pose mode and parenting the bones but when I move the bone Kirbys hands/feet don't move
Did you assign vertex groups
Wow. So great a tutorial
Aw, thanks! 😊
How do I move the foot part out using inverse square?
Press O to turn on Proportional editing and then change the interpolation up top from linear or Smooth to Inverse Square
@@CGSmoothie How do I use that to then shape the foot part?
how do you pair the extremitie with the bone?
Select the mesh first, then the individual bone and hit ctrl P and pair it to the bone
hey, at 1:08, which hotkey did you press to get half the sphere to smooth out ? Sorry i'm really new to blender
Oh I just proportionally (press o) edited the bottom vertice upwards to flatten the foot, hope that helps!
@@CGSmoothie my bad I meant what is the keybind to do so vertices act like that, I had propertionnal editing on
G and z
@@CGSmoothie thanks i managed to follow along really helpful tutorial mate
@@vmirevi This is the bit I'm stuck at. I can highlight the object in the orange net, but can't get any further.
Thanks man!!
No problem!!!
at 1:20 how do you select multiple points at once and move them around
Press shift to select multiple things at the same time 😁
when i added the shader the face is super light and i cant fix it help.
nvn thx tho
Was it a problem with your colorramp?
@@CGSmoothie nevermind i fixed it thx tho
Is there anyway you can share the rig? :D This is a little too advanced to follow for me, but I need a kirby rig for a personal project. I'd make sure to credit you :D Thank you!
Yeah, I'm sure I could do that soon! I'll let you know when I get that up!
1:10 how did you do that?
Check the other comments with around that same timestamp and you'll see that I use O to turn on proportional editing and then just grab the vertex and move it like any other object!
where is the Toon Shader video's link?

ok cool
how to use the inverse square
If you press O, you'll see a button light up blue for proportional editing, next to that you can switch from linear or spherical or in this case inverse square interpolation.
omg wheres the toon shader link?
It's in the I on the top right
could you please SAY THE SHORTCUTS
There's the waterfall in Yoshi Circuit, and the side shop in Coconut Mall!
@@CGSmoothie the blender shortcuts
I'll try to be more specific in future Tutorials, this one was an "intermediate tutorial", meant for people with a decent understanding of the program
@@CGSmoothie Ok thanks for the response now i now and also i love this tutorial i have done this and kirby is so cool thanks!
@@CGSmoothie What's the buttton you used to open the image texture?
