Spider-Man is (often) driven to be a hero by his sense of guilt and responsibility. Because his inaction has lead to the deaths of people he cares about. Saving lives and fighting crime always comes at the cost of his personal life and mental well being. He (in most continuities) gets little respect from the public, the media, and sometimes the superhero community. And yet he still goes out there and fights the good fight no matter the cost to his own well being. Spidey does (not often) act to inspire people on a greater level. He is not regarded as a great bringer of hope. He saves people, he saves lives. He acts no matter what to do so. Ultimately, a perspective on him is that when he does not act, people die. When he does not fight hard enough, people suffer. Peter is driven by the cost of his failure to the lives and well being of other people. Superman would show him that when he succeeds he saves lives. It's a big difference in perspective. That's the biggest thing he could give Spidey. Faith in himself and hope. To make him ultimately nto be driven by his own guilt and sense of failure. To give himself credit and faith.
Superman would be a MUCH BETTER mentor to Spider-Man than Batman in terms of morals, ethics, and ideals. Plus I feel like Spider-Man would relate a little more with Superman and maybe even prefer him over a brooding grumpy character like Batman.
Superman: "Hi Pete! How was your week?" Spidey: "Pretty average -- my aunt May was diagnosed with cancer, MJ broke up with me, I lost my powers for most of Tuesday, Electro killed Miles, Flash Thompson sold his soul to Mephisto, an evil clone of me live-streamed himself murdering a pre-school full of toddlers, and I was sent back to the 1300's and caught the Black Plague. How about you?" Superman: "Uh... Lois was annoyed that I forgot to take the dishes out of the washer...?"
Meanwhile with Mary Jane and Lois Lane, the two gals are obviously cheating on their husbands with each other. Put your Freudian excuse on what compel these two body-harny women to hate their husbands?
I think you missed out on the journalist integrity side. Peter Parker is basically like Superman's best pal, Jimmy Olsen. I feel like the dynamic might be in the same vein, right down to the weird misadventures. Peter's humanity and down to Earth nature would rub off on Superman when he over thinks things. A grounding force in Superman's hectic life and he also is a natural Father figure that people like Spider-Man is desperately searching for. Not to mention all the science and technological developments from his alien heritage and adventures, Superman offers Earth many helpful things. Spidey is a science nerd and a humanitarian They also get very philosophical. So imagine just the deepest of talks about sensitive subjects without fear. Pondering together during the lows of investigative journalism
@@ComicCasualVideos Oh, another thing, Superman can teach Spider-man about his media presence. JJJ's hatemongering and defamation wouldn't be a problem for Spider-Man if Clark Kent is around. (though JJJ might LOVE Superman as he doesn't wear a mask and his true name Kal-El is public knowledge) I also just think that since both are basically the greatest Heroes of their respective Earths. Spider-Man getting recognized for this after death like many great figures. That putting them alongside each other, would likely get that known sooner within Spider-Man's lifetime so he can actually enjoy the fruits of his arduous labors. Overall, I think Superman would just lift Spider-Man up and make his life easier giving him more comfortable room to fully flourish and reach his potential on his own terms.
I like "best friend" more than mentor. Im so sick and tired of Spider-Man always being portrayed as some skinny, 15 yo who doesnt know what hes doing. Classic, adult Spider-Man understands the job of a hero better than any other superhero in history. Not to mention hes actually funny, inspiring and ripped af.
Spiderman would be inspired by Clark's and Lois' great relationship, and get over MJ once and for all, and hope to find that kind of true love! (At the very least).

THIS GAVE ME AN IDEA FOR AN AMALGAM HERO WHO IS A FUSION OF SUPERMAN & HAWKEYE: I imagine his name is (Kevin Flint Justice) & I imagine his hero title is (GOLDEN CONDOR). I think this amalgamated superhero, is a fantastic mentor, to the male spidey hero, that exists within this realm. I imagine the birth name of GOLDEN-CONDOR, is (Calvin Elis Diamond). To add I imagine his adopted parents, are retired survivalists experts, who know how to hunt, and adapt to certain wildlife places. I imagine Kevin’s adopted father JONATHAN, he’s multitalented, and one of his favorite hobbies’s is farming. In addition I imagine Kevin’s adopted mother MARIA, she’s also multitalented, and one of her favorite hobbies’s is plant growth research.
This kinda is an inverse of a story marvel did where spidey tried to mentor a superman type character. If i remember right a kid was in a lab accident in the same museum spidey got his powers and got i think the power cosmic. And spidey tried to mentor him but the kid was a dick. Honestly would like to see the story where pete was successful in teaching a hero way stronger than he is
I was reading that issue the other day the kid was "the alpha" he got his power from the "parker particle" right? good example of how great power doesn't always make them accept great great responsibility.
No. You got it so wrong. It is Superman who should learn from Spiderman. Superman doesn’t understand what humans are. Batman tells this. Superman never had human vulnerabilities, so he would never understand their fear, which is why he can never solve humanity. Spiderman knows all of that. Spiderman cannot learn from Superman since Superman can only show hope, while Spiderman fights for that more than anyone else. And Spiderman is the symbol of hope in the form of humankind. Not alien. And for Superman to understand humanity, Superman is the best person to learn from. You are looking it too small if you think just because Superman having more powers will make him a mentor to Spiderman. There are many who can equal to Superman in Marvel.
Um, what do you mean Superman doesn't understand what humans are?, he grew up as a human all his life. He has good to regular, made friends in Smallville, had relationships, has a regular 9-5 job, has insecurities and fears, he eats and sleeps just like any other human does. No offence but you seem to only be looking at Superman instead of the Clark Kent
I’m not gonna fixate myself around this comment for too long but I gotta say, babbling about him being alien and being oblivious when 99% of his life was spent on Earth and was fortunate enough to be raised by two VERY down to earth and loving parents that also doubled as his mentor in showing him the humaneness of humanity along with his responsibility and Influence tells me all I need to know about your understanding of the character and where you stand before this goes any further. I’m aware this sounds cheesy but you’d know Superman is more human than most of us if you read more about him. It’s really poetic seeing as he is an alien.

No really.

Funny you say that, because in an alternate universe where Peter never got bitten, he was filling that role to Hyperion, Marvel's superman knock off.
@@Raiden_Solid There are reasons why Marvel writers want to write for Superman. This sounds likely to be one of those reasons.

Yeah Adult Spiderman for sure
@@ComicCasualVideosNo really, adult Spider-Man is more childish and loser that the angry and mature Ditko Spider-Man.
Dude this video and Lets Talk Comics' video on why batman would be an amazing mentor for spiderman both showed up next to each other😂
Yeah me and him are homies lol
@ Didn't know that, that cool!

Mj is his true love.
Loved the video!
Only one thing bugged me:
It’s “resonate” not “resignate”.
Other than that, good analysis. 😇
My bad
I would like Bruce Wayne to hire Peter, so he will earn middle class money and not be borderline homeless all the time.
I feel like both Batman and Superman would be great mentors for Spider-Man. They would be a lot better than Iron Man that's for sure.
Superman would be a amazing mentor for any hero because he’s THE superhero and the goat
I lost track of how many times you said, “definitely”, in this video.
