I always hated iris snice season 1

They should’ve did what young justice did with Kid flash when the killed him off at the end of season 2 and when it got brought back they never brought him back at all which was a bold decision but showed that even if you win you can still lose

I don't like Iris either. There are some relationships you simply cannot root for. This was one of them. No one ever felt anything with those 2. Kind of like Amber and Mark in Invincible (it was even worse 😂).

The writing for me.

They love making her the only person against a lot of things and being the loudest voice too ,that's my biggest nitpick of her , sometimes I question why the writers love to make her the voice against most of team flash' decisions

imagine if instead of Barry staying depressed he basically turned into andrew garfields spiderman, stopped holding back and didn’t care about saving his villains, just keeping the workd safe by any means

The writers really had no idea what to do with her character. When they finally decided on a direction for her, they made massive errors in the way they write her

There r diff versions of Owlman, some r good and some bad. He is from a Earth were morality is reversed. the 1st Talon from Earth-3 is the Earth-3 counterpart of Robin. In some he was the only type and not a group like Prime Earth Talons. I always like the Anti-matter version of Owlman. Like the Infinite Frontier version as well. Same as the Rebirth version, even though we don't know much, but he hated Batman who Laughs and 1 who discovered that the Owlman is the TRUE anti-Batman.

Sorry but if a character is so fast he can do anything it makes than he’s written badly to begin with. Overpowered superheroes don’t make for good stories. There’s a reason no one cares for superheroes such as superman and flash nowadays, and they care more for guys like iron man, Spider-Man and Batman

I liked her at first and didn't mind her getting involved in team flash but when they started focusing too much on iris that's when I threw in the towel and it wasn't so much an iris thing but a cw thing! I just got sick of they whole "team" aspect of the arrowverse, and then the cw went nutts with girl power and vomiting activism all over the scripts the stories just plain went to shit, the arrowverse was still going strong until about 2017 and after the quality that was just at the satisfactory level just fell off a cliff!

I think Flash arrow and Smallville just had 2 or 3 too many seasons and should've just condensed the shows a bit. Superman and Lois I think needs 1 or 2 more seasons. They're cutting it too short. But hopefully it goes out with a bang. They should've kept it in the arrowverse as a redemption to that verse. Would've loved to see some of those characters make a cameo.

Her character was good s1-2 and then just fine in 3 but 4 was just genuinely the worst for her character, I don’t mind her being a leader and keeping everyone together but she really tested me that season

I think imma have to rewatch this show, at least the first few seasons. Crazy how it’s gonna be a year since I first watched it last May.

Barry and Caitlin had far more chemistry together and would have made a much better couple. Their relationship felt so much more natural than anything we got with Barry and Iris, with anything beyond them being friends just feeling forced. Barry and Caitlin had a leg up from the very start, what with Caitlin being Barry’s doctor and caretaker while he was in a coma and also being closely involved during his transformation into a metahuman. It’s clear that they cared for each other and Caitlin having a rather personal stake in Barry’s wellbeing after losing Ronnie to the particle accelerator explosion, the seeds of a deeper relationship had been planted from the beginning.

all honesty, i didn’t start disliking iris until in season 4 and she started saying WE ARE THE FLASH😐

The biggest problem with Iris West is that she was a side character being forced into a main character role. She was quite literally written to be in a secondary/support role! Now whether this was intentional or not, I don’t know, but let’s look at the reasons. She was oblivious to the Flash’s identity for almost the entirety of season 1. Almost every other series regular knew the Flash’s identity. She worked as a coffee barista with aspirations to become a news reporter. Barry was forensic scientist, Cisco was a tech wizard, Caitlyn was a doctor, Harrison Wells was the founder and director of Star Labs (and created the particle accellerator), and Joe was a cop. Each of these characters had the skills to play key roles on the team. Iris did not. Iris’ occupation and skillset (at least as written) did not lend itself to contributing to such an operation. Each of the other characters had a developed, genuine relationship/friendship with Barry. Wells’ was his mentor, Joe was his father figure, and Cisco & Caitlin he developed relationships with as trusted colleagues and close friends. Iris was the awkward crush he pined over while she was engaged to another guy. Wells, Joe, Cisco, & Caitlin could all have genuine conversations with Barry and support him after he became the Flash. Barry’s interactions with Iris could only ever be superficial because he had to maintain a facade around her because of both his secret identity and his secret crush on her. As you can see, in every respect Iris was not set-up to be a main character. The cruel irony is she was wasn’t written to be a good secondary character either! Almost everytime she was on screen, I felt the writers didn’t know what to do with her. If, say, they had written her to learn about Barry’s transformation from the start and better developed her desire to become a reporter (or bothered developing it all instead of letting it sputter out), she could have had character driven plot points such as, say, subtley influencing the Flash’s narrative in the news cycle to create a positive perception for him and fed information to the team that benefitted them in their crime fighting endeavors, which could have been her own small contribution to the team. Also, if she had known Barry’s identity from the beginning, they could have had some honest and heartfelt conversations about their own relationship and Barry’s feelings for her while she was engaged to Eddie. Maybe come to an understanding about it. Then I maybe I could accept her being a believable love interest and compelling side character. As it stands, thats not the Iris West got. What we got instead was an annoying side character shoehorned into scenes and roles she had no business being in. If the producers intent *was* to make Iris a compelling main character with an integral role to show, they utterly failed on that front.

I think many of us wish that Patty stuck around. But Barry’s chemistry with Caitlin was amazing

The way I interpret the Injustice series is this When the justice system does not do its sole duty of keeping society safe from evil men, then the public will take the law into their own hands and that ultimately leads to more suffering.

To be completely honest I prefer Barry to be with Caitlin over Iris I mean look at how much Barry and Caitlin are compatible to one another

So you feel they don’t know how to handle her character now that she’s not just a side character she has to be more important their has to be drama which messes up the show’s dynamic and their chemistry I feel if they have her the Lois treatment it would be better

The CW flash show was my first true intro to the flash lore. Before then I just saw the flash as the guy who runs fast on the Justice League. So imagine how weird it seemed to me that Barry was pinning after his unofficial adopted sister who had a fiancé, like dude move on go date that Caitlin girl who’s single and doesn’t have a sibling-like relationship with you. Poor Eddy killed himself so that Iris and Barry can be together 😂

The character was terrible. Whine, cry, bitch, moan. That was her M.O. for every episode I ever watched. I couldn't stand her to the point that I sometimes turned episodes off because she just got on my nerves to the point of exhaustion. I'm sure this is all the writers' fault. I dropped this show after Season 7 as it just got more and more ridiculous. Couldn't support the bad writing any longer and I got tired of Barry revealing his identity to just about anything that moved. Between Sisco & Iris, the show was very hard to get through at times. Those two characters were the male/female of the same character.

I didn’t watch much of the CW Flash (I love Barry Allen’s Flash, but I just didn’t have the time to sit through the series) so correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Joe West his legal guardian, which would kind of make iris west his stepsister? It makes the fact and Barry getting together a bit more uncomfortable. If they just didn’t make her father his legal guardian but instead just made him a father figure for Barry this would be a lot less weird.

Iris and Barry had to chemistry, Patty and Barry did, Barry and Caitlin did. Iris would have been just fine as the best friend/sister like character
