Thank you, I didn't have my original remote, but was able to get through using the internet/cable provider's remote, thanks to the head-start you gave me. I haven't been able to use that tv for more than a year.
I think said that two channels are on VHF Low band. How is the reception on Low VHF? Many people from U.S.A. said that reception on Low-VHF sucks and full of interference in the cities only High-VHF and UHF are stable. In Europe all TV channels broadcast only on UHF. The VHF Band is for Analog FM and Digital radio or DAB (High-VHF is used for Digital radio DAB) we don't use Low VHF.
With the proper outdoor antenna, reception is fine. I have found that even with smaller sized antennas I am able to receive the low-VHF stations without much trouble. But the towers are only a few kilometres through the air from my home. Indoor antenna reception is very difficult here in my city. Yes, low-VHF is not the ideal band for tv reception, since most people don’t want a large outdoor antenna in their yard or on their house. Interference is possible, especially channel 6 with it being right beside FM radio on the frequency spectrum. The general trend seems to be that TV stations are migrating from the low-VHF band.
@@NorthcoasterHobby North America should take the European example and move all TV channels on UHF. I was able to receive TV channels on UHF band with my indoor antenna and had now problems. But VHF band for FM and DAB Digital Radio sucks especially when computers, LED TV and LED light bulbs are turned on. Even strong FM stations are jammed the weak ones disappears. DAB is gone. I have mounted my UHF and VHF antennas outside so I get excellent reception for both TV and radio I also use a VHF-UHF combiner and goes trough my AMIKO Satellite-Antenna diplexer to have all the signals on a single cable.
@@NorthcoasterHobby There is this guy on RUclips his name is Tyler and has a channel called Antenna Man he uploaded a video about channels 6 or the stations that can be received on both TV and FM radio but will soon be shut down by the FCC among all analog channels.
I thought that I'd commented, but it disappeared.. I just came back to make a correction, but can't find my comment. Oh well.. If my original comment does re-appear I meant to say that I get 8 channels using a home made antenna, using scrap parts really, using a design from a RUclipsr from Georgia named Danny Hodges (I'd incorrectly said his name was Larry in my original reply...) It is fun to tinker with outdoor antennas, and encourage others to give it a try....
Whenever you conduct a scan for free over the air TV channels, please only look for the digital ones and not analog. At least in the United States, analog channels have been off air since 2009.
In the new place I hooked my cable to the place that brings in the buildings antenna. Only on cable setting it brought in over 200 channels. But the channel up and down only let 4 channels come in that are blank except one with emergency alert letters on it. How can I get the 200+ stations to be accessed, and manually changed, please?
I would recommend getting a universal remote control. You can use the buttons on the side of the TV to program it, but that can be awkward. amzn.to/4bAEppA

Thanks!
Question I have tried doing this but it still won’t connect is there another way I can connect it
What exactly do you mean by connect?

I’ve also experimented with homemade antennas, it’s fun to make something that is so useful yet simple!

Good point. Some TV’s this feature is automatic and some it is selectable.
Than you

I would try switching it to antenna setting, then rescan. 200 channels! Wow! What city are you in?
Wow.thats more channels than I'm getting.thats great
Not working. What should I now do
I would recommend getting a universal remote control. You can use the buttons on the side of the TV to program it, but that can be awkward.

Is there a way to turn this thing off I want to use my fire stick and it won’t allow me to use it because it keeps asking for this scan
Try using the input button on the remote control to select the HDMI your firestick is plugged into.
