I think you might need a better outdoor antenna to get more channels, unless you live far away from the TV tower and these 3 channels are high power. For better reception I recommend two antennas one for VHF band and the other for UHF band and a VHF-UHF combiner.
No, it’s not the antenna. We only have 3 channels available in this area. I live in an isolated small city nowhere near any major metropolitan areas. Two stations are local stations owned by the same company. The other station is a repeater of a provincial government channel from Toronto.
@@NorthcoasterHobby What kind of antenna are you using? I have someone who resides in Thunder Bay (I recognize the channels), but getting a signal has been impossible despite trying a number of models.
@@eb3746 It’s an out of production Channel Master 3010 Stealthtenna. It’s good for VHF and UHF. Two local stations are on low VHF and it picks them up well. An outdoor antenna is a must here for over the air antenna reception. Indoor antennas won’t cut it for our 2 locals, unless you live right beside the towers.

You could use the buttons on the side of the TV, or you could try a universal remote control:

Do you know how yo get the TV guide to show up to see what's coming on at different times?
Press the INFO button on the remote control. It should bring up some programming information. That information is transmitted along with the TV signal. But not all channels send Electronic Program Guide (EPG) info. It depends on individual tv stations. In my area some channels send information and some don’t.
My channel key is faded out, not an available option.
Try a universal remote.

i have an insignia tv and a cable box on HDMI. it wakes up to the channel i had it on but if i change the channel it goes to the blank screen with please run channel auto scan. channels is darkened unavailable from the screen i get the channel on.
Does this happen when you try to change channels on the cable box or the TV tuner?

I put paperclip also and did auto program/auto scan and it scanned 30+ channel but still it is blue screen and no signal.

Insignia TV's suck. Just plain dysfunctional garbage. The worst excuse for a tv i have ever seen in my 69 years on this disgusting planet. Its going back to best buy and im getting my money back. Worthless receiver circuit that doesn't pick up any antenna channels and screen goes blank every day and has to be unplugged and reset. Cant change channels without the pos going blank. Had to do a full factory reset today which was a total nightmare. No more bs flat screen TV's in my house. Going back to picture tube TV and digital converter. Today's so called technology is dysfunctional garbage that does not work.
It’s a house brand, there’s definitely better quality TV’s available. However, if you want to use an older CRT (tube) television, you can connect a digital converter box to it to still receive over the air channels with a TV antenna.

@@NorthcoasterHobby I know about using a digital converter for CRT tv. I just had to trash my old TV recently and still have the converter. These so called smart TVs are garbage and just a scam to spy on you. They are dysfunctional trash and nothing but trouble. I will never buy another smart TV ever again. They aren't smart at all. They are the epitomy of extremely dumb and if I had known anything about them I never would have even considered buying one. Unfortunately the sales morons at best buy don't know anything about the products they sell and if they do, they don't tell you. My old crt tv used to get 68 channels and never gave me problems except for the age and the fact that it just ran it's natural lifespan. It was a huge mistake buying this insignia pos and I had to learn the hard way. No smart TV is going to give you over 20 years of reliable service. most don't last more than 2 years. Total garbage built specifically to spy on you. The free WiFi apps don't give you anything you can't get on antenna. And they are certainly not free. You pay a much higher price by giving up your privacy. This is disgusting and dysfunctional technology that should not be allowed in this country. This is something that you would expect from Russia or China. The xumo app is a Chinese spy network that automatically downloads crackle with it and they don't tell you that. The crackle app just breaks in whenever it feels like and you think you're watching xumo and suddenly you're watching a Chinese movie. I am going to file a formal complaint with the FCC and demand to know why this is allowed in this country. Once you download these apps you cannot uninstall them. Even if you see an uninstall option it doesn't work. You only uninstall the icon and not the app. This is absolutely disgusting. If Americans had at least half a brain in their oversized skulls this would not be happening. Unfortunately Americans have become some of the dumbest morons on this disgusting planet.
My tv got all the channels but then it glitch and it turned off my tv by its self I re scanned the channels like 4 times and it still does the same thing 😑
