Wow! it really works! using this method my hdtv found 153 channels. I'm here now in L.A. and local channels are working. I noticed that the picture is better and clearer than in Charter Cable

Great! Yeah, isn't it amazing that the picture quality is better than cable TV?

+DisableMyCable yes it is. especially those local channels like abc7, nbc, ktla, cbs, etc. the channels are better than the cable TV. I don't watch that much TV shows and movies.. I only watch news in the morning and afternoon so I think I made a right choice to disconnect and stop the service from Charter cable. Thanks for sharing this greats video. it helped me a lot!

I've tried so many amplified antennas and the only thing that works is that i stripped the outside of the coaxial cable and pulled it back and stripped the inner piece back and twisted it around the plug on a 25ft orange outdoor extension cord without the outside of cable touching and it works flawlessly, (UNBELIEVABLY WELL) I put it on a splitter and hooked another tv to it. I will use this as my antenna and hide the orange cord somewhere and purchase another cord. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I dropped satellite this fall. Was paying $187 a month. Now, I use flat antenna (using RG6 coaxial cable to reduce signal loss) positioned up high on south-facing wall. Most of the TV towers are approximately 7 miles to the south of me. Get 75 channels. I also have a couple of paid streaming services.

Thank you so much sir...you are our angel..You see our area have been hit by Supertyphoon Odette. There is still no wifi and faster internet in our area to cater to smart TVs and TV boxes. Our local cable company is still down and no signal. We heavily rely on TV for news and entertainment special my senior citizen parents. After watching your video, i tried it. And although i was only able to find 4 channels, we are so happy because of of the channel is my mother's favorite. I've failed many times when trying to install the indoor TV antenna because I'm a woman and I really didn't know how to go step by step correctly .Thanks to your instruction and your tip, it works. It took me a while though, then I managed to go from channels then antenna and finally to auto program, now I get ABC.,NBC,CBS,FOX,CW...more than 40 channels. That's awesome. No more TV cable bill for me from now on.I'm very very happy. Thank you so much and best wishes.

I, here in Toronto Canada, get 40 free TV channels on a good day. Most are USA channels.
However, I was not able to get a " Free TV ", but I did get a refurbished TV for a good price.
I use an indoor antenna in combination with a 15db RF amplifier. 40 channels being picked up inside an apartment, is darn good.

No more cable. Works on every TV fkn amazing!! Or u can buy a small roll of speaker wire $3.00 works even better. Those antennas are a waste. Thank you tho. I live in L.A. and get 72 channels using old, broken rabbit ears into which I have placed wire coat hangers. To increase reception power, I sometimes toss my vacuum cleaner's 25 ft. long cord over the cable from the tv to the rabbit ears. The picture comes in crystal clear on my cheap, flat screen tv. Not rocket science.

I pulled the plug on cable TV in 2003 and I don't miss it. What the hell do I need cable TV for? Where I live I get 82 channels of free digital TV. That's more than enough for me. Just about everything on cable eventually ends up on the internet. I don't pay for internet either. My apartment building has complimentary Comcast Wi Fi and it's pretty decent speed. I can download a Blu ray movie converted to MP4 in about 12 minutes. It's great not having to worry about those bills.

I unhooked the cable over a year ago. Great decision. I get 36 channels and honestly don't miss cable at all. I really don't. The picture is crystal clear HD. I thought I might have withdrawal symptoms, but it never happened. LOLOL Before I unplugged I took inventory of what I was actually watching. I was paying out the nose to watch about six channels out of 150 or so. Most of the channels were "reality" tv shows which are garbage anyway.

First get a cable, another short cable, and a 3-way splitter. Screw one cable into the tv. Screw the 3-way splitter into the end of the cable. U strip the second cable but leave the other end good, so you have one end that still has the cable nut on it and can be screwed onto the 3-way splitter. Then make the rest of the cable only have the center copper wire and about 2-3 feet long. Make it into a loop and place it into the hole on the other open bolt with the hole in it on the 3-way splitter. U now have a cable that comes out of the tv, makes a loop, and returns to ground. I am in Sacramento, California and get about 40 stations this way (three movie channels).cable tv for the inside wire.

I found it odd that some people think that they need cable (and some box) to watch tv.
I use antenna like he held (it's about $15). Or, you can visit his website to buy the $21 antenna he recommended (appreciate his effort to remind people that you can watch tv without cable!).

So, Kev, you spend $90 for a lot of channels in your package, but you watch only a few of them. I spend $0 for the few channels I get and I watch them all. It suits me, because all I need are local channels for the news and weather and that is it. The cable company can keep their MTVs and other garbage the have. In other words, I am not a couch potato.

Thanks for the video.... The hell with paying $1200.00 a year to watch TV that's insane... I get over 900 channels and only watch maybe 30 of them at best and most of the time what is on them are re-runs... As long as I can get the basic channels who needs all the rest of the junk that does nothing but show re-runs for a month... To easy to download movies now a days to be paying hugh amounts of money t see re-runs all the time... Again thank for the video this was very helpful....

Yup, My moms been paying Time Warner now Spectrum over $60. a month just for basic & most of that is shopping networks & foreign channels & since Spectrum took over they've been raising the monthly service fee a little bit more every month. She's finally catching on after I screwed in a coax cable to her antenna input this morning & ran the cable to the window & was able to pick up 116 channels, no box, no converter no nothing, just the coax cable all by itself. I've got to admit, even I thought it was bizarre, lol. Feels like we're giving Spectrum the birdie. YESSSS

Are people that thick, they need to be shown how to plug a TV aerial into a tv?

  • @johnscofield8697
    @johnscofield8697 9 лет назад +2

Get a splitter and don't just disconnect your cable if you get something like HBO or Showtime. After going to the TV menu and checking for over air reception just run the scan and it will show how many over air antenna reception is in your location. You will get stations like ABC,NBC, CBS, and a few others. BUT remember that it all depends on how far you are from the broadcast towers. The Clear TV antenna can be got at Wal-Mart for about 14 dollars.

This should be normal. If you don't have cable and you are using digital you would simply use an antenna just as you always have with the old analog tv's. This should come as no surprise.

Ever since I joined the military I don't even watch tv like I used to I just have Netflix and a guy who downloads movies for me and when I go home on leave I watch tv and realize how stupid it's gotten. Really all you need to do I pay 30-50 a month for decent internet and watch tv online or other apps like hulu plus. In the end it's cheaper than cable.

So your TV doesn't have a round ANT/CABLE coax connector as shown in this article? www.disablemycable.com/antenna-setup/ If not, your TV might be a "display" with no TV tuner. If that is the case, you could use a DVR as a tuner: www.disablemycable.com/dvr/

There are still many TV stations still terrestrially broadcasting. You can make your own indoor antenna, or buy one commercially made.
It is best to have a proper outdoor roof antenna installed by professional installers. On top of a building to have height the range would be far better than using a small indoor antenna of any type.
There are web pages showing how to make your own indoor antenna. A home made antenna will never perform as well as a commercial type, unless you had the know-how and instrumentation to properly tune it.
Watching terrestrial TV stations will not show you the speciality channels that are available on cable and satellite services. More stations are starting to not broadcast terrestrial. There is a huge cost for operating and maintaining land based transmitters, and less and less people are using this service. With decreasing viewers for this type of service the financial return is becoming lower.
There is also a lot of free TV on the internet. Having the proper hardware would allow you to have internet TV on your large HDTV set. Eventually, most likely there will be some charges from the providers of internet TV.
