@@kanamichelle7404 Nah. My arms are thin (size 4/6 long sleeved tops) but I have excess sagging skin on my upper arms from a recent, unplanned and unwanted weight loss so I wear long sleeves - pushed up. The material and the cut of the sleeve can affect how the sleeve pushes up. If it's a stiffer fabric like cotton or linen you usually have to roll the sleeves and if it's stretchy and/or knit make sure the sleeves are straight and/or relatively narrow.
I have a drawer full of Lost River popcorn knit and tissue knit shrugs and toppers in many colors to wear over sleeveless tops. Basically like mesh or netting material. Made in Bali. You can just roll them up in a ball so great for travel.

Your arms are lovely! Just you wait until they become flabby and wrinkly and veiny, that's what my arms look like, and it's come on very suddenly in the past year. I once heard an ageing expert say that there is usually one year when you really age and this has been it for me. I am 58 years young and I always looked younger than my age without trying - until this year. Just comparing last year's selfies with this year's and I really noticed a huge change, also on my face, lots of dry skin, many more wrinkles/fine lines/beginnings of wrinkles and a very droopy jawline, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, etc. Ironic really when I've finally achieved my ideal slim weight after decades of trying. But I am OK with my body and kind to it, much more than I was when I was younger

I went through the exact same thing, i.e., my body gained 10 yrs in one year when I was about 65 and I underwent an unwanted 30+ weight loss in 6 months. I gained most of the weight back but the damage was done ... saggy jaw, hollow cheeks, sagging skin on my neck, upper arms and inner upper thighs that's stayed with me along with gaining a few age spots on my face and hands at the same time. The difference in appearance in such a short was mind blowing. Went from ..."What, you're eligible for the senior discount? to ..."I never noticed how much you look like your mom" - because my face had thinned out so much so looked longer as well as thinner. whereas I'd always been compared to my dad .. square jaw, dimpled chin, round cheeks, etc previously. It's been a few years now and I'm learning to adjust but it's shocking how quickly it can happen.

@@Cocoandindy of course we don’t NEED to but many of us choose to at least cover areas of our body that we feel are not so pretty any more. It is our choice.
I found chiffon sleeves only that is kind of a tube that goes across a sleeveless top. It’s kind of chiffon or silk. You put your arms in and you have sleeves over a sleeveless tank. My tanks are beautiful and I want to wear them but with the sleeves. These tube sleeves fall on the back higher up , the sleeves are full with elastic at the cuff so they can be slid up to be 3/4 sleeve or long.
I also think our upper arm expectations are unreasonable. Another practice is to go out and look at real life upper arms all around you. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised. Unless you're looking at weather ladies. They have great upper arms. It must be in their contract . :)

My few sheer LS tops are usually saved for cooler weather when I can actually tolerate wearing sleeves. Fussy, fabulous yokes & sleeves are very limited in my wardrobe too. 😊Do love the drape & coolness of soft, rayon fabrics, but the silhouettes need to have some structure. Have a vertical stripe gilet that hits below my hips, a couple of checkered ones, & an abstract print maxi gilet that are staples in my 🌞Summer closet. Also have a handful of solid short waistcoats as toppers. 🤔Perhaps I could handle some of your shorter toppers, but the longer kimono style robes are way too bohemian for me🤣. Given a trio of sheer gauzy tops (bubblegum pink w/subtle vertical white stripes, green gradient, & orange gradient) w/loose ¾ sleeves. Don't mind their weight, but the blouses are too long to leave loose & become bulky when tucked. ✂️Not sure if I want to crop 'em or split 'em down the middle to turn 'em into a light topper. Meanwhile, will use your ideas of a scarf, pretty necklace, or bold lip👄 to distract from my arms. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
I absolutely love your hair, love it wild! My favorite outfit was the first one with the light fluffy blouse and that great skirt with buttons. Love all your coverup ideas. My least favorite was the red flowered skirt with black top, but I realize it may look better in person. Thanks for doing these awesome videos! 👗🩷✨
"Find yourself something sparkly and lovely..."🥰 LOVE everything about the first example. Color, style, SILK... YES!! Really good, doable tips. I'm always on the lookout for just these styles. I've never really liked my arms exposed even at a very young age. 🤷♀️ But I'm with you. The jersey coverup is yuk...and so true that it does look like a blanket you've thrown on to cover it all up! Not the look I'm going for lol thanks, Diana😘
I'm a normal, average older woman, but I enjoy being thoughtful about my clothes. Always have. I've never used a jersey coverup, but I am prone to use flowy tunics to hide my lack of figure at this age. But after your video, my thinking changed to wearing attractive fabrics instead. I sew. I came away with got some fun ideas for our hot, humid summers in SE coastal Georgia - where tank tops and sundresses in summer are the uniform.
Tip: when buying a t-shirt, choose one with sleeves that are not clinging to your upper arms, i.e. with a slouchier fit. Or wear t-shirts/knits, etc. with slightly longer sleeves almost down to the elbow. Another option is to wear a (black) cami under a sheer black long-sleeve top - sexy and chic.
U have beautiful warm skintone, how about dropping some of the black clothing and pic up some warm colors? The one from Zara is good but u can handle more strong colors for contrast. Oranges , browns , warm greens. Ah who am i,😅just saying😊tks.
I'm happy to say I've never owned one of those jersey things! I usually add a sheer cotton gauze blouse, a cotton button up, or a cashmere cardi. Have you done a video about hiding a tummy?
Love your videos! You give such great tips and have a wonderful attitude and energy. :) Never thought of using sheer shirts this way. When I see them, I just think I'd get cold but ofc in a HOT weather they'd be great.
Yes, they are called Sleevey Wonders, and Shepherds Fashions in Ottawa, Ontario often features them. But they are also available elsewhere. You can pop them under a sleeveless dress or top and voila you have sheer sleeves. They just fit over your bra so don’t add bulk. Another option to the good ones suggested in this video!
An open front or button from crochet top with sleeve down to or almost down to the elbow has the potential for a lot of air flow. For cooling and even drier underarms. It will obscure the arm shape just enough. Even better if close to your own skin time or hair tone.
SO BEAUTIFUL, you have super-great ideas! and you’re truly model material ! I took notes and I’ve never tried RED lipstick, I usually do clear lip gloss! But, i’m way older than you - i’m 66
Fun, as always! In the last three days I've discovered you and watched about 20 of your videos. That's the good news. The bad news: I love to thrift but have never seen a nice coverup in a thrift store. Jackets and your hated jersey jobs abound. I have looked because I'd love to find a thin kimono or a cover up similar to yours. Any tips on where to find them?
I agree that the jersey ones are not flattering. So what do we cover up with in winter?? If you actually DO have large upper arms, sweaters are NOT your friend… help.
I suppose it depends on the sweater arm style, you know? I like oversized, slouchy cardigans, and some sweaters have batwing or bell sleeves that might work. Maybe?
I have a great collection of unusual, irreplaceable graphic t-shirts and when my arms became flabby I found this way of still wearing them without showing my arms. I wear them under (denim) shirt dresses: I leave some of the top buttons undone so the t-shirt graphic shows underneath, it's a simple but cool look that I don't see around. Or instead of the (denim) shirt dress, just wear under a (denim) shirt - again just leave some of the buttons undone at the top so the graphic t-shirt shows underneath. Or simply wear any top under a pretty cardigan - I'm not sure about wraps, especially those with large flowery patterns, they're ageing imo, you never see younger people wearing them.
If you have very fat upper arms, you usually need something that stretches, thus the jerseys. It's very hard to find silk or other natural fabrics that have large enough arms and that don't make you look huge everywhere else, even with a belt. Stretchy is how I handle it. BTW your upper arms are not big or fat or flabby. How about having a model that actually has this problem so we can see how your solutions actually look on the real thing. Thanks for trying though.
I was kind of new to making RUclips videos when I made this video and I didn't know to include brands and these are all thrifted items so I couldn't post links anyhow. Whatever item you like you might have luck Googling a description of that product like "lace arm blouse" or "silk cover up".❤
You are a lovely young woman and your arms are fine. Trust me on that one. Lol….when we are young we all are so critical of ourselves. Then when older you realize how crazy that was as then you do have the bat wings.Lol…. Thanks for reminding me of the pretty cover -ups in my closet. xo
I'm sorry all these items are thrifted and I don't know where you can find them but you can find similar things just by Googling a description of the thing that you love like "silk cover up" or "lace arm blouse"
I thrift all of my clothes for these videos. Do you thrift? Otherwise I would think that most malls would offer some nice coverups as summer is starting.
I don't have the patience to go through racks of clothes so my used and vintage items are from Poshmark and Ebay. Anything I grow tired of I resell on Poshmark
DON'T HIDE YOUR UPPER ARMS! AT 82, I HAVE STOPPED DOING SO! AND -- I FEEL SO MUCH YOUNGER, FREER, ENJOYING LIFE WITH MY ARMS FREE! AFTER ALL, YOU DON'T PUT A BAG ON YOUR FACE, DO YOU? THERE ARE EXERCISES TO HANDLE YOUR UPPER ARMS! USE THEM! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR!!!
I tend to dress modestly when I can. Sometimes a bare arm feels like a lot. Though I have no problem with mine, sometimes people don't like the way their upper arms look.
I've worked out with weights for years. As we age, while we can still build muscle, we lose collagen and elasticity of skin so you will still get hanging skin when you aren't flexing. Even body builders' arms look flabby when relaxed.
I don't know what age audience that you are targeting, but red lipstick on someone in there 70's, is clownish, and people in their 70's are the ones that want to cover their arms. All these tips are lost on me.
Your arms are not big at all!!. In fact, the camera usually adds weight to your body in photographs, so your arms are must be even thinner then on this video. I find it hard to believe that you feel the need to cover your arms. Geez, your arms are just fine.
I honestly don't have a problem with my arms, I just don't like to have them uncovered all the time, and I know a lot of people would also like solutions for covering their arms and that's why I made this video. I hope that I didn't come across as disliking my own arms!
@@unblahyourself I wish I had arms like yours. So many cute sleeveless dresses out now for the summer. Hard to find dresses with short sleeves. I find your video helpfull though because I do look for tops that have sleeves but will still keep me cool. My arms below the elbow are fine, it's just my upper arms I don't like anymore as a senior. Never had a problem with upper arms at all until I was in my 50's and now in 60's.
@@suzannelawson9215 I really like dinner dresses with floaty, flouncy sleeves to conceal. It doesn't look like you're "trying" to hide anything and it just looks pretty!
@@unblahyourself Yes, I would like to find a dress like that but don't see that kind of dress at Wal-Mart or Target. Just saw a lot of sleeveless dresses.
😊❤
So cute. Where do we find out the brands or how to find these tops?
I was kind of new to making RUclips videos when I made this video and I didn't know to include brands and these are all thrifted items so I couldn't post links anyhow. Whatever item you like you might have luck Googling a description of that product like "lace arm blouse" or "silk cover up".❤
You are a lovely young woman and your arms are fine. Trust me on that one. Lol….when we are young we all are so critical of ourselves. Then when older you realize how crazy that was as then you do have the bat wings.Lol…. Thanks for reminding me of the pretty cover -ups in my closet. xo
❤🎉
You are a young, beautiful woman and I'm sure you don't have any crepe skin. Wait till you're 68.
Those arms that got larger may have limpedema so u need to look into what u can do to feel better, exercises, compression sleeves, shtockings, etc.
Our upper arms served us well for many years. Why should we now be ashamed of them? Aging is part of life. Enjoy your health and your golden years.
❤❤❤
What wording do you use, to find those silk coverup item, that you wear at the start of the video please?
If you were going to Google it, "silk cover up", "kimono", "short kimono cover up", "boho cover up" things like that!
I don’t like long sleeves. Do they make coverups in 3/4 or short sleeves?
Yes!
Where can we find all these cute things for purchase?
I'm sorry all these items are thrifted and I don't know where you can find them but you can find similar things just by Googling a description of the thing that you love like "silk cover up" or "lace arm blouse"
Brands would help! Thanks!
One of those tops looks like a sheer curtain from the 60's, definitely, no way!
You are beautiful and so are your upper arms -don't hide anything !
What kind of shoes are the red ones?
I'm not really sure and they are long gone. Personally I love flats from Naturalizer or Aerosoles.
😱Jersey cover ups are my mom uniform… Any tips for affordable silk cover ups?
Maybe try resale sites like Thred Up? I find them here and there while thrifting
Your videos are fun! However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with your arms. 😊
Great ideas I just hope that nothing is made of polyester !!
Where do you find these types of coverups please?
I thrift all of my clothes for these videos. Do you thrift? Otherwise I would think that most malls would offer some nice coverups as summer is starting.
Many sheer fabrics are polyester and hot….and I don’t mean sexy hot.😉
I don't have the patience to go through racks of clothes so my used and vintage items are from Poshmark and Ebay. Anything I grow tired of I resell on Poshmark
Try Poshmark and Thredup. My daughter just had a kimono show on Poshmark. Also, Maurice’s has affordable sheer kimonos.
@@annewhitney8809Even loose and airy polyester kimonos create a breeze that will cool you off.
Would help to know where you got these
Sorry all of the items I use are thrifted!
I’m here because I have one old-lady looking inside of my upper arm where I had 2 cancerous breast lumps taken out of my armpit.
Wow! That's great that it's taken care of. ❤😘❤
Get a gold arm band,
Hmmm..very nice look BUT silk in hot weather is HOT, it does not breathe
You are precious 😊
DON'T HIDE YOUR UPPER ARMS! AT 82, I HAVE STOPPED DOING SO! AND -- I FEEL SO MUCH YOUNGER, FREER, ENJOYING LIFE WITH MY ARMS FREE! AFTER ALL, YOU DON'T PUT A BAG ON YOUR FACE, DO YOU? THERE ARE EXERCISES TO HANDLE YOUR UPPER ARMS! USE THEM! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR!!!
💯
Mine are flabby arms
I'm confused. Why would you hide your upper arms? Is it to avoid sunburn? 🤔
I tend to dress modestly when I can. Sometimes a bare arm feels like a lot. Though I have no problem with mine, sometimes people don't like the way their upper arms look.
And sometimes to protect from sun too!
Dont hide them! Work them out!!!❤
I've worked out with weights for years. As we age, while we can still build muscle, we lose collagen and elasticity of skin so you will still get hanging skin when you aren't flexing. Even body builders' arms look flabby when relaxed.
Binge watching murder she wrote and realized she never shows her upper arms!!!!
Aha! 😄
Why?
There are many reasons some people don't want to show their arms. Everyone's different.
You're arms are good..others need to work their arms..a little a day.
Lovely items, but they are not practical or affordable.....
All of these items were thrifted so they were affordable. I highly encourage thrifting!
You are soooo beautiful...

I wish I had arms like yours.
@@unblahyourself
Yes, I would like to find a dress like that but don't see that kind of dress at
Wal-Mart or Target. Just saw a lot of sleeveless dresses. Unfortunately, I can't afford clothes at higher- end stores like Macy's or Nordstrom's that probably sell dresses like you described. I am on a super fixed income. Don't even have a car and get around on buses.
@@suzannelawson9215 I really only shop at thrift stores and though I highly recommend it, I realize not everyone city has great ones. The good news is, Target has been carrying some really cute styles lately. Best of luck Suzanne! 😘
