I just watched your part-2 vid. (Both very well done!) How about doing more well known Celebrities, like Jerry Seinfeld, Billy Crystal, (both had something done recently) also Nicolas Cage, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Le Blanc, Barry Williams (aka Greg Brady) (these are more well-known celebrities than many of the rock musicians in your part two video) also musicians Garth Brooks, Alex Rose, Garth Brooks, Donny Osman. (All definitely had some sort of hair system)

Yes he joked and said, yes its true, all those beautiful locks of blond hair are all gone and wont be coming back. haha His hair loss is probably due to stress. His career tanked, he caught his scumbag longtime girlfriend cheating on him in the Bahamas, and then she had the gall to sue him for money and Peter had to hired an attorney, his manager ripped him off, he was walking the streets of LA looking for session work in the 80s, His childhood friend DAvid Bowie felt so bad for him he offered him a job touring with him as his guitarist and then what money he had left and made touring with Bowie he lost in the stock market crash of 87. His hair was showing signs of thinning and he was teasing it up for the Bowie tour. Gotta give Peter credit, Through it all he still manages to have a smile on his face and laughs it off.

Yeah that takes some guts. Sadly it's an unfortunate risk us males have to run. Women can get away with so much more. Wigs (Tina Turner and Cher) bras to make their tits look bigger and shapelier, shoes to make them look taller, clothes that pull their arses in and up, clothes that pull their guts in. Basically it's cheating. A male wearing anything like that would ridiculed.

Haha… I’m a woman..60…and I’ve got a few wigs….it sucks when you thick lush ahead of hair becomes thin and sad…. What you noticed at the hair line on Ace was likely the “lace front” typical on many wigs. I wish women could easily transition to baldness…but it doesn’t work that way for us ladies….good video!
@@ZachAdkinsGuitarNot where I expected a fair discussion on male pattern baldness (seemingly the last visual 'fault' on which there is open season now the pro-fat agenda has made that a more difficult target for commentators) but very welcome. I appreciated your opening, explanatory remarks and personal honesty. I've been bald since my late 20s and, whilst I don't hide it, it has occupied a great deal more of my self-esteem space than is healthy. I'm old now and don't care anymore, but there were a good number of tough, hairless years before finding my peace with it.
to lose your hair can be heartbreaking…especially when your hair defines your identity. I too, lost all of my hair due to alopecia 😔 Unfortunately it didn’t grow back. But on the positive note, wigs can be fun. I enjoyed watching your video, thanks Zach❤️

As a woman who proudly wears wigs all the time due to hair loss from medical reasons, I wish it was more acceptable for men to wear wigs. It's really emotionally difficult to lose your hair and not everyone looks decent bald.
@@dw7939 I wish it was more acceptable for women to have really short hair or bald heads. The most confident, attractive and brightest women I meet are the ones who don't care about what society thinks of their hair. They also seem to have a little more between the ears.
I totally agree with you I don't understand why people don't accept men wearing wigs and also I don't think they look that bad he's trying to say they all look bad I don't agree with him they look all right to me
I'm a 54 year old man. I haven't "lost" any hair necessarily. So much as it's moved from my head to other parts of my body where I don't want it!! Nose, ears, eye brows etc. 😂😂😂
I see wig wearing as akin to dressing the part. Hair was part of the complete identity package for many of these folks in their younger days, and I don’t feel it right to shame them in any way. Heck, every day women wear enhanced eyelashes, nails, extensions, lip fillers, Botox, etc., and we accept it with no problem (as we should). Self expression is a fun part of this human experience. 💖
Exactly. Why can men not wear anything to look better?? I use lotions and oils for my skin and I'm proud of it. I look way younger than most men my age. I get hot on by lots of younger girls.
Robert Plant has to be on this list, Tom Jones as well. Probably anybody performing in the 70s will make the list. Led Zepplin as a whole make the list.
I hear you, I do the same thing. Hair began thinning in my 40's. I hated going to the barber when he grabbed a mirror and showed me the back of my head.....looked like a T. Rex egg.
Actually, I notice that my hair is thinning and falling away. What I don’t like is having a cold head. Let’s not forget that when you’re older, you must avoid the flu, COVID-19, pneumonia, and all respiratory threats. Our immunity system isn’t as strong. As a black guy, the fur on my head maintains my body heat, baby. I’ll do something to keep my fur. If I can do it gracefully. Otherwise, I’ll gather my hair-keeping scientists and take it from there. Until things work themselves out, it’s back to the damn ball cap or something. Good thing my genetics have never commanded flowing, blowing in the wind, as the “answer.” I remember my friend from Soundgarden, Hiro, mentioning Kim Thyl losing his hair. Last I saw Kim in pictures, he was rocking a long, grey, father-of-time beard style. It looked way cool, better than ZZ Top. What’s up, Kim. JC
Or to keep it warm. You have no idea how much insulation it provides until you live where it gets cold and you start shaving your head. Good natural fiber beanies are a precious commodity.
I 100% won't slag any guy for attempting to fight baldness, but I just think it's like trying to not have to pee. It's an act of utter & obvious futility.
Both him and Paul should just rock the bald look. It looks pathetic when aging rockstars wear a wig and still try to keep the long haired look. Especially now that they've retired. Also, they could have kept performing as Kiss without having to mask up. They did that for twelve years from 1983 to 1995 and they killed it. They could have easily done that again in their final years as a band and it would have looked more authentic.
Hi. I'm 55, female and started developing alopecia at age 15, which was 1984. Thank you for mentioning that it's not anyone's fault, it's totally genetic. I appreciate you.
I loved what you said in the end…Watched it all the way through! Also love that you said “this is just a video about nothing.” It was; but it was still entertaining for some reason…well done!
In light of all this baldness can we give a shout out to Robert friggin Plant who was triple blessed in the hair department, lol, Jimmy Page also... Those guys... I saw Page/ Plant in 95 and had really good seats i was blown away by Plant with that much hair in his 50s, Saw Plant again 10 years later and geez still had it. At 60 I am still blessed to have my hair but a bout with chemo really thinned it and I realize it ain't gonna make it much longer, I am grateful to all the guys in these comments saying just be yourself, it does help to know it's not the end of the world. Rock on ✌️✌️✌️
I think Plant's best look was in the 80's, when he had the short hair. I know Plant can still grow it, but he really should consider not growing it and adopt the "businessman's" look again, that he had in the 80's. It's more age appropriate.
I hate how wigs make me hot. And I’m tired of using Rogaine foam every night. So I’m going to let the world begin seeing the shape of my big round head through my fine greying hair. We are in ideal times for not witnessing strangers gawking. So much is now sort of odd with hair having very unnatural color or people are going through chemo treatments. I think commercials, promoting hair products, influence many to feel bad about hair loss. The hair product models always are showing fantastic hair. Just an aside re how far we’ve come with acceptance: while cleaning out my grandmothers chest of drawers, I found a tiny book probably printed when the printing press was newly invented, and the title of the book was about a woman’s hair being her most important asset!
Yes, he has 2 unsuccessful transplants in the late 70s and always wore hats. Then in mid 1992 he started wearing expensive custom made wigs and never looked back. Good for him, he never had to wear hats again.
I have no problem with men or women wearing wigs, I'm so non judgmental about so many things. I have a hard time understanding people who do judge! I hope I never change!! My son is bald, and I adore him ❤

The one which intrigues me is Mick Jagger. His late dad Joe was as bald as a coot and his younger brother Chris has very little on top, yet Mick's hair still grows thick and luscious. If he's had treatment it's hard to pinpoint when. Or has he been wearing a wig all along like Joe Lyn Turner.
When I started losing my hair I was gutted. I was a rocker, my hair was everything. For 3 or 4 years I tried to kid myself and hide it or disguise it. Eventually I said 'f**k it' and got the buzzsaw out. It was the best thing I ever did. It free's you from your own insecurities and vanity and allows you to get back to living life.
Same exact story, I had it waist long and it was beautiful. But started seriously losing the last few months of 19, so by 21 I had no choice because it was too obvious. Been feeling better ever since, look better at 36 than I did when I was 20 and starting losing it at the back but still kept it long, it made me look older and like I didn't take care of myself.

Same here, I was starting to see it at 19. I eventually went to shorter and shorter hairstyles and now I am just doing the buzzcut. I actually think women preferred me with the shorter hair, the shorter the better, judging by my success at dating during those eras.
I was in a metal band a few years ago. ALL of us wore wigs. Shit we were all in our 50s. It was hilarious to me how many people thought it was real. I had a lot of offers for sex but to be honest, I was afraid they'd make my wig fall off, so nope. never.

I said hello to Joe Lynn Turner at a signing with Yngwie during the Odyseey tour and have to say that Joe was one of the most personal musicians I have ever met. I was just a teenage fan but he actually talked to me like he cared. Great guy.
As well as Blackmore, his former band mate Ian Paice also appears to have more hair now than he did 50 years ago, and Roger Glover has been wearing hats and bandanas since back then.
When I was 20 my hair was 38 inches long, I donated to cancer. When I joined the army after 22 years in the military I got out with my honorable discharge. I started growing my hair out again, I still look like Cousin It.
Man, this one hits kinda close to home for me. I’m at that weird stage in life where I have to decide soon if I’m gonna shave it all off, or have the ring of hair up top, cuz I wear a hat, but obviously can’t wear it ALL the time in every situation. I went to a funeral not long ago, and while I should have been there to support my friend, all I could think about was ppl staring at my balding head. Thanks for the depressing yet informative video.
Theres a RUclips channel called my hair experience. He has all the answers to your questions. My brother wears one and he looks amazing. He wasn't looking good but now he looks great. New units are very real with gray on them and different hair density and colors. These clowns here don't know anything about it because they are stuck in the 18th century. As for these rock stars they are using cheap wigs from the 70's. If youre single get a invisible poly. Not sure the name but the hairs look like they are growing out of you. Yeah! Very real! You can swim and get in the bedroom with your lady and she may not notice it. It feels real but if you look good bald go for it.!!
There is a brief moment during the Freddie Mercury tribute show at Wembley in 1992, where Slash throws his head back while playing and for a nanosecond you see the wig tilt back before it was actually pixellated out. I saw it by chance while I was watching the recording but there is no evidence of it online.
My buddy Jay started going bald in his mid-20s, he was pissed because he loved his hair, couldn't pass a mirror without brushing it, always reminded me of the Fonz in Happy Days. He always said "I can't wait til you're bald and I'll laugh at you." I'm Metis, got my mom's hair genes, indigenous people don't go bald, our hair just turns white but stays full and thick. @@Nghilifa I never gave a crap about my hair, just let it grow and hang there all crazy, used to keep it nearly waist length. It wasn't music that made me start to grow it, I wanted to be a hockey player, Guy LaFleur was my guy in the 1970s and he had long hair that looked cool when he skated fast. I cut it 3 times since I was 12, once because I got Krazy Glu in it in 1991, spent that summer with a mohawk, prank gone bad, once for a job selling vacuums door-to-door in 1995, lasted 6 months, and in 2015 I puked all through it and was too sick to wash it so I cut it all off. It grew back but it took longer to get to a decent length, now I keep it just past the shoulders.

@@paulskehan693 I honestly let it stay long because of two reasons, I'm lazy regarding my hair, I don't even brush it unless I have to go out and I have haphephobia, hate people touching me so haircuts are off-limits. It's usually just bugging me, poking me in the eyes, getting in my mouth while I'm eating, sometimes I think I should shave it off but like I said, too lazy to give a shit.I also only shave like maybe once a month, facial hair is scraggly, I look like a homeless person, dress in jeans, metal shirts, stormrider and hoodie, running shoes, it's how I've aways rolled.

Steven considers himself a lot of things that he's not, an actor, a legit fighter, a ladies man, a cop, a spy, a black ops vet, in shape, Zen Buddhist, Russian, indigenous, black, Italian, a decent human being. If he weren't so obsessed with trying not to be Jewish he'd have had a Jewfro before he went with a roadkill hair transplant. He had a Jewfro as a teen though.
Thanks for pointing out that hair loss isn’t a moral failing or something that a person caused. My husband started balding at fourteen and finally gave in and cut it all off not long after our wedding when he was 26.
Andy Scott of Sweet.. I saw them live not long ago and he made a point of the fact it's his own hair with a band member jokingly tugging on it. Why would he make a point if it wasn't his own? It's a crazy style to choose if It was fake( for his age) right??
David Lee Roth has had hair transplants. He cut his hair very short some time ago and you could see the hair transplant scars across the back of his head where they remove the donor hair from.
Once upon a time, a music mag cover story (Kerrang, Metal Hammer), featuring Ritchie Blackmore & Joe Lynn Turner... the headline read, "Where There's A Wig, There's A Way". Priceless!
Don't even start. Black girl here. We change hair daily....by choice. It's a given and fun.😂 But it would be interesting to talk about the men who magically have new hairlines, or a full beard with no gray and they are over 40.... 😅
Bret Michael’s wears a wig. A girl on that Rock of Love show confirmed that. You would think that people with money could get fit with suitable wigs that you can’t tell they are fake. William Shatner for example has wore a rug for years but you wouldn’t know unless someone told you.
Thomas Dolby recent had a hair piece glued in place and was very open about it. I dye my hair but ever knows it. I'm not trying to fool anyone I'm just rocking my preferred style.
I was in a power/prog metal band back in the late 80's - mid 90's. I started losing my hair when I was 21, in 1993. It really sucked because I had long hair that stopped about 5 inches above my waist. I wore hats everywhere because it was embarrassing, not only to be that young and losing my hair, but also because back then baldness was not as much an accepted look like it is today. Playing live, I would wear a bandana over the top of my head. Once I accepted it, I cut my hair short because I didn't want to be the guy with a skullett, who refused to let it go. Skulletts look horrendous. God bless!
I think that Joe Lynn turner had the best wigs on his head for a guy. They didn’t look cheap, he probably got them customized professionally just to fit and suit his looks , just saying…….😏
I am not a fan of men with wigs. Personally I always preferred bald/balding men. I think that they are very hot. Drove my family nuts, I was 20 and dating a balding guy in his 40's LOL. Love it when they just shave it all off, looks great!
I had long hair until I was 18. I cut it, got married, job, kids etc. In that time I always shaved my head for the most part. I'm now 55 and since my wife passed away 5 years ago I've grown my hair out again. It's as long as when I was a teenager now but I'm losing it just in the crown of my head. The front is still fine. Debating on whether to get the cream or just shave it again.... I told myself after my wife died I'd never cut it again. Definitely a tough decision.
I'd say just go with a regular short hairstyle if you have enough hair still on your crown. A bit of thinning on the crown doesn't look that bad with short hair.
@@whocanmakeyourwholeweek7272 i have a full head of hair in the front it's just the top rear that's thinning. Like getting a bald spot on top in the back. I'm 6'1 so you can only tell if you're tall enough or I'm sitting down.
I had a beard and mustache in 10th grade and long hair. I looked like Jesus Christ- I was shaving it in my mid 20’s- that was 30 years ago when very few men shaved their heads. You don’t have to like going bald but damn it …wear it with pride and confidence!
Get on the Finasteride as i had same thing happening and after 1 year on Finasteride it has helped to stop the thinning either that or just brave the shave \m/
the stigma of being bald went away for a long time...there were so many actors and musicians who had no problem being bald...seems like it's becoming an issue again...
Perhaps you could do a follow up about rockers that use hair dye....so many look like they've been passing around a tin of black shoe polish before coming on stage 😂
Ronnie Wood from The Rolling Stones wears a wig. I met him in the late ‘80s cause he used to come in a store where I worked in Manhattan. He had short fully grey hair with a circular bald spot on his crown like a monk. When you see him onstage, he’s fully wearing a wig.
That was fun. And I am bald and had no clue back in the day half of the dudes were suffering like I was. Adapt, don't take yourself too serious and be comfortable in your own skin I say. I rock the bald and never looked back.
You can add Carlos Santana to this list... his bandana became bigger of the years and now I think he wears a hat too. It's the music that's awesome... I don't give a sh*t about somebody's hair. BTW, I thought Sinéad O'Connor looked sexy as all F when she was young and bald. 🤘
James Taylor, hate 2 say it but if he hasn't shaved his whole head,he probably should cause he looks exactly like Father Richard Levine who's a child molester.

Springsteen has a transplant at the front and a weave to cover the top. Elton had the transplant, but it scarred his head pretty badly so he now wears a wig. I also read Brett Michaels has worn wigs since his brain surgery left some nasty mess up there.
Don't forget Alex Lifeson - he's had the yamaka rug for at least 15 years. And Keith Urban. He's not a rocker but he's been wearing the same wig for decades. There's some interview with him back in the '90s in AUS and he started balding early.

Supposedly baldness is passed down from your mother's side. I don't know if that's a scientific fact, but in my case it has turned out to be true.

As a woman who proudly wears wigs all the time due to hair loss from medical reasons, I wish it was more acceptable for men to wear wigs. It's really emotionally difficult to lose your hair and not everyone looks decent bald.

Damn gravity.
Those hairs up my nose get me. There's always one hanging out, even though I snip them off with pointy scissors. Grrrrr!!!
Sounds very familiar to me lol
I see wig wearing as akin to dressing the part. Hair was part of the complete identity package for many of these folks in their younger days, and I don’t feel it right to shame them in any way. Heck, every day women wear enhanced eyelashes, nails, extensions, lip fillers, Botox, etc., and we accept it with no problem (as we should). Self expression is a fun part of this human experience. 💖
Exactly. Why can men not wear anything to look better?? I use lotions and oils for my skin and I'm proud of it. I look way younger than most men my age. I get hot on by lots of younger girls.
Can we do 'Rockstars who stuff their pants' next 😂😂😂

Robert Plant has to be on this list, Tom Jones as well. Probably anybody performing in the 70s will make the list. Led Zepplin as a whole make the list.

Dude from Cameo with the giant codpiece. Does he count?
I don't wear a hat to hide my thinning hair but rather to keep the sun from baking the top of my head.
I hear you, I do the same thing. Hair began thinning in my 40's. I hated going to the barber when he grabbed a mirror and showed me the back of my head.....looked like a T. Rex egg.
Same here!
JC
I shave my head. I'm not ashamed of it.
Or to keep it warm. You have no idea how much insulation it provides until you live where it gets cold and you start shaving your head. Good natural fiber beanies are a precious commodity.
Gene Simmons truly thinks he is fooling people. His ego is beyond nuts.
Gene simmons hair is like straw....he has burned it over the years with spitting fire.
Correct lol
I 100% won't slag any guy for attempting to fight baldness, but I just think it's like trying to not have to pee. It's an act of utter & obvious futility.
Both him and Paul should just rock the bald look. It looks pathetic when aging rockstars wear a wig and still try to keep the long haired look. Especially now that they've retired. Also, they could have kept performing as Kiss without having to mask up. They did that for twelve years from 1983 to 1995 and they killed it. They could have easily done that again in their final years as a band and it would have looked more authentic.
Gene has enough money to buy a really good natural looking wig, not sure why he wears that helmet on his head.
So glad I clicked on this random video, you are TOO funny!! 😂 I enjoyed your commentary sm!!

Tommy Aldridge in his 70s.
I went to page n plant as well
I think Plant's best look was in the 80's, when he had the short hair. I know Plant can still grow it, but he really should consider not growing it and adopt the "businessman's" look again, that he had in the 80's. It's more age appropriate.
I thought Jimmy Page‘s hair looked quite thin in the 1990s. I suspect he had a transplant.
Unfortunately alopecia is horrible. Especially for a women I've known all life.
Yea, it's a bummer
Elton John had a couple of hair transplants in the past . I don't know if they worked, but he did have them..he was quite open about them.
I think Elton talked about his hair transplants in the 1970's. The first one wasn't successful
Yes, he's been very open about his transplants. He also told a great story about his wig on a talk show awhile back.
Yes, he has 2 unsuccessful transplants in the late 70s and always wore hats. Then in mid 1992 he started wearing expensive custom made wigs and never looked back. Good for him, he never had to wear hats again.
Hair transplants in the 70's made those that had one look like they had a doll's head.
They did not work.

Sorry brother 😢.
Go the friar tuck🍻
Lost my husband 9 years ago today. He was 49 just. He had no hair but I loved his head.
No!
Get on the Finasteride as i had same thing happening and after 1 year on Finasteride it has helped to stop the thinning either that or just brave the shave \m/
My Dad always said you will go bald if you play with yourself, he was bald when he said it....
Hahahah
HAHAHA.........
ok now I know why I have no hair. won,t stop now
Women play with themselves too, & don't go bald. Not fair!
Otherwise it would scupper the dildo industry.
You surely get bald...two times in a second
the stigma of being bald went away for a long time...there were so many actors and musicians who had no problem being bald...seems like it's becoming an issue again...
Joe Lynn Turner looks like an Egyptian Pharaoh
Joe Lynn Turner is a God!!!!
Dude, no doubt!
i was just coming here to say that lol
Joe still sounds awesome Sunstorm edge of tomorrow rules
Yul Brenner
Bret Michaels wig is part of his bandana
🤣🤣
😂👍
This is a good one! I never seen another channel do this
Check out the channel in my description. That's where I got the inspiration
@@ZachAdkinsGuitar of course we all get inspiration from somewhere but you own this one. Kind of you to reference it
Perhaps you could do a follow up about rockers that use hair dye....so many look like they've been passing around a tin of black shoe polish before coming on stage 😂
100% Guys just embrace getting grey and balding. Quit acting like women and soy boys.
Shoe polish is exactly what I thought some of these older guys and gals use! 😂😂😂
They look like they fell into a barrel of tar😂
Elvis for one. He was naturally Blond.
Bret Michael's wig wig wig!!!
No doubt
Bret Michaels has false hair glued onto his bandanna. More ridiculous than a wig.
Lies I've never seen more natural, luscious blonde hair.😉
The intro to this video was very nicely done.
Wow!
That doesn’t make any sense, because he’s losing his hair now?
So not only is he a fake guitar player, he wears a wig too?😂😂😂
@@philipdru9290 For some reason it's a cheap, off the shelf piece.
No he doesn’t
Zach’s commentary is hilarious 😭🤣🗣!!!
That was fun. And I am bald and had no clue back in the day half of the dudes were suffering like I was. Adapt, don't take yourself too serious and be comfortable in your own skin I say. I rock the bald and never looked back.
Yup! Agreed 🙏🙏
I've always been suspicious of that Billy Ray Cyrus is wearing a wig.
He has to
LoL
I think you look GREAT
With or without the caps.
Appreciate it 🤓
You do look nice. Great video❤
They look like bimbos. Andy Scott YIKES! 🫣
You can add Carlos Santana to this list... his bandana became bigger of the years and now I think he wears a hat too. It's the music that's awesome... I don't give a sh*t about somebody's hair. BTW, I thought Sinéad O'Connor looked sexy as all F when she was young and bald. 🤘
I'm not a huge fan of either, but at least Peter Frampton and James Taylor don't feel the need to hide their baldness.
Keep it natural
James Taylor, hate 2 say it but if he hasn't shaved his whole head,he probably should cause he looks exactly like Father Richard Levine who's a child molester.
They're not hard rockers.
@@70saerosmithrules24 In all fairness, neither was Aerosmith.
@@sunshinecoolwater9528 Go listen to Aerosmith in the 70's especially their albums Get Your Wings....Toys In The Attic....Rocks....and come back and tell me they were not hard rock. I do agree with you their later stuff was cheesy. I just listen to their earlier music.
Awesome video; great description and keeping it respectful. Very informative and entertaining
Thank you! Check out part 2!
Time for a part 2!
In shock with Keith Urban , hmmmmmmmmmmm
Alex definitely had a huge bald spot during their Vapor trails tour. I think he got hair transplants though, doesn't look like a rug.
Same with Garth Brooks
There's a video of Alex from high school days, sitting around the dining room table with his parents. He definitely inherited his father's hair genes, but I've no idea whose musical genes he inherited, obviously a genius. Link: ruclips.net/video/M977GFRWDmY/видео.html
Paul wears a wig at all times. He has his "everyday wig" with the grey streaks to make it look authentic, and his wig that he wears onstage.
he has a deformed ear he is self conscious about.
Grey makes wigs look LESS Authentic, not more!
