I'm guessing this applies to the Hp Pavilion gaming desktop w Ryzen 5 3500 and Geforce GTX 1650. My exact model number is TG01-0018. I don't know if you have a Hp close to those specs but does this video go for both versions of the Pavilion. Love ur Videos! Do you think doing a precision boost on Ryzen Master would be worth it? I know the Bios is locked on Hp that's why I was wondering if using the auto options on Ryzen Master where safe or if it would really even make that big of a difference. I also installed another stick of Crucial 8gb 2666DDR4 ram so it's running in DUAL CHANNEL now. It is a very good beginners gaming computer. Also is it worth overclocking the gpu?

Thank you for making these awesome videos! I'm digging the new setup and 4k upgrade! Can you explore cooling upgrades for the TG01? After upgrading to a R7 3700X and 2060 Super the case gets much hotter. I've been looking at some Noctua CPU coolers, but HP doesn't make it easy. They apparently use an Intel screw pattern (LGA1151) for the AM4 socket.

Hello. I have a 400W PSU. I have already upgraded to 16GB of RAM, 1 HDD and 1 SSD. I see post about the MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 12GB. Its the exact one linked in the description of the video. I would love to get it and upgrade from my 1650 Super since I am getting into Unreal Engine 5 development. My concern is that 400W is not enough but I am seeing people in the comments ask and the response is yes I can upgrade. I would like more confirmation on this since it's a big purchase and the Amazon link in the description says you should have at least a 550W PSU.
To add to this. If I do need a bigger PSU which exact GPU can I get on 400W that would be best? Links in the description say RTX2060 Super 8GB Amazon (as stated in the video) but when I click the link in the description it takes me to an RTX2070. I'm just a bit confused as which is wrong? The video or the link? Again this is incase I can't get the RTX 3060 that I want.

All good no question is a bad question. You will want to do 2 things. 1st upgrade the PSU to the 500w if you do not have one. 2nd Upgrade to a RX 6700 XT Or RTX 3070 Or RTX 3060 TI. VR Games use a lot of Vram. Vram is the GPUS Ram. Like the Ram you Have for the CPU, so the more the Better Normally. 1660 only come with 6GB and for VR it start to push past that and needs more like 7Gb or 8GB.

Hey I'm not knowledgeable about upgrading these but I wanted to take your advice and purchase more ram. I've already set up the computer for my son's to play their games. Is it still ok to go in and add another stick of ram? Should I remove the one that's in there and put 2 new ones? Or do you keep the one that's in there and just add another one? Will it reset all the setup I've done so far? Thanks if youre able to respond

if you signed up on the HP site with your model number it can tell you what parts came with the PC. Mine is compatible with DDR4 up to 64GB Ram. if I'm being honest I tried looking into upgrading mine and for all costs of the upgrades I'd rather build a new one or buy a newer prebuilt.

Hello! I was curious if your available to help! I have the Hp pavilion Tg01-1003NA with the i5 and a 1660 Super, Would i be able to put a rtx 3060 in the case and what would you recommend if so? New to pc gaming but would love to spend another 500 and get ray tracing 😅

Yes but you would need to get the 500 watts psu from hp. Best you can do with out it, is a 2060 supper 10" card, dual fan card.

Great video. I have the tg01-0023w. I want to upgrade ram to 2x8gb 3200 ram. You mentioned with AMD will need to update the BIOS. How do you update the BIOS and is it worth it...? ... Meaning is there any negative outcomes with updating this particular BIOS?

Not really, Going dual channel will be the best thing you can do. You a nice jump depending on your Gpu and Cpu. I-7 with a 3070 I seen almost a 45-75 Fps gain. Also depends on the game as well. So most will see a 20-40 Fps gain depending on hardware. going from 2666Mhz to 3200Mhz is like a 5-15 Gain. I mean if you can do dual channel and get the speed it is you best bet. But not all of the systems can do the Bios update. It will depend on the motherboard your TG has they have 2 or 3 that they put in the TG AMD Hp's. You will want to google your model number and go to the hp support site not the normal Hp site FYI. When you google look at the site below in green Look for support.hp. Dot some thing.

@@TNW1337 Model via CPU id is 8643. X570. Does that mean anything to you? If not no worries. Should I just install the 3200 2x8gb sticks and not worry about updating BIOS or should i update BIOS and try for some extra FPS? I think i just answered my own question lol, but being a dam tech enthusiast, curiosity remains.

I have a TG01-0299 (Intel based CPU) with the stock GTX 1660 GPU. I cannot get my hands on a more powerful HP PSU, so I am stuck with the 310 Watt stock PSU. Am I also stuck with the stock GPU, or can I upgrade? If I can upgrade, what to?

CPU Look at a I-7 If you can not get a 400 or the 500w PSU your Pretty much stuck with the 1650. If you can get the supply Id go with a 3060ti.

I have a tg01-1070m with a ryzen 5 4600g and I'd like to upgrade the RAM to 2x8gb, but I've been reading that if I buy a DDR4-3200 kit that uses xmp to reach that speed, the hp erica motherboards don't allow the overclocking? I am very new to this so maybe I'm confusing something there. Basically what I've been reading is that people buy 3200 RAM but their HP desktop only runs it at 2600. Is this something I should even be thinking about? Is this cleared up with the AMD bios upgrade you mention in the video?

If you want to be a 100% sure that you get that speed, you have to buy hp ram. I have gotten some kits to work. But other have had probldems. The benefits you gain over a single stick out way the speed decrease of the ram. With dual chanle ram, your gaining 30-50 fps in some games. Going from 3200 to 2666 is like 3-5 fps Loss. Also you will see Throughput gains on drive speed, clock cycles, gpu latency & more. The new cpu are ment to be dual channle, Not even sure why hp sends there pcs out with single sticks. They should split it to 2x 4gb sticks for 8gb. Also to get the most out of new titles, 16gb is the sweet spot. Some games use more now, if you give it to them. Memory/ram is like a fast access path way. look at it like this if you live in a big city and the freeway was one lane of traffic it would move pretty slow? What happends when you add a 2 lane ect. Dual channle is like adding 4 lanes for traffic Things start to move a lot faster.

@@TNW1337 Thanks for the reply! That helps me feel okay about getting some RAM and letting it run at the slower speed. Of course, its annoying that hp is setting their system up to prefer their RAM, but I'm more happy with the good low price I got on the prebuilt. Hopefully in the future I'll have more money to spend on a custom pc (and maybe the GPU market will have calmed down too, haha).

Thank you for the videos, I am interested in putting a gpu in my hp pavilion, it has the 400w psu from hp and also a ryzen 5 5600g. I have also put two 3200 8gb ram sticks in and overclocked it to 3200 with ryzen master. I have been looking at getting a rtx 2060 super or gtx 1660 super, I would rather the 2060 super but when I research it mostly everyone says that i need a bigger psu. What are your thoughts?
