@@TNW1337 Nevermind, found out that by removing the HDD cage of my PC I am unable to put the front cover properly. All I can do is upgrade CPU cooler and exhaust. I wish I could install this heatsink
So I'm confused. Why put the one fan on the front of the case like you did, instead of putting it down on the side right in front of the power supply? It has no benefit where you put it. The front of the case where you mounted it has the inner case then the outer case, which has no air flow to begin with. So the placement of that fan makes no since to me. The point of case fans are to pull in air and push air out without things being in the way as best as possible. That's my understanding anyways.
There is airflow from the front. This is what I found from hours of testing i did. Of course you can do what you want. It is just what I seen and found. With the dual fan gpu it did not help to put it on the side it did not make a difference. I tried the fans in many different configuration, to sucking from the side to pulling. If you look at the top of the front shell there is intake to allow for air. I was thinking of removing plastic from the top to allow for more air. Best result was fan at the top and one in the rear front one was sucking and rear was exhaust. Small noctua was a 10c average difference in temp. Larger was 13-15c. Of course most gamers will never see the temps I was dealing with. I was using a strees test that keep cpu and gpu at 100% for hours on end. Of course if you want to prove my results wrong please have at it. But it took around 8 hours of screwing around to find this data.
@@TNW1337 Hmm Interesting. So what is best possible CPU Cooller and 2x Case fans combo for this case? Is it the Noctua NH-C14S and 2x Noctua NF-A9 PWM? Or have you found something better?
Hey, I just replaced the stock cpu cooler and rear fan on the TG01-2202ng (11700F and 3060Ti) with Noctua NH-L9x65 and A9x14PWM. The results are very minimal, what could have I done wrong?
For exhaust i got noctua nf-a9 and for inlet i got nf-a9 and nf-a4 to make positive pressure but got worse cooling on gpu(3060ti). Then I removed the nf-a4 and put the low noice adaptor to the inlet fan to make underpressure in the case and the temps were back to original. Looks like this case needs underpressure to remove the heat from gpu, it’s not that much place between the gpu and sidepanel so it is possible that the gpu recycled its own heat. Got 75c on gpu with 99% load and 62c for cpu and ambient temp inside the case.
Cool educational video. Thank you. But as I believe, your fan direction for the CPU fan is against physics law. You can't blow the heat back to CPU. The normal way is taking the heat away from the CPU connected heat sink and the system fan suck that out. I advise people to have rather a powerful system fan because such small case is filled by heat dissipation from all PC components, especially CPU and GPU.
my only complaint is you said intel mounts which was amd at the end end you said again intel stock cooler when its an amd mount ....but for ppl that have this see amd maybe its worth an edit as this hp pc is better with the amd version because of over clocking which intel can do with the ram

My only issue is I can't get the CPU fan to stay on all the time. It seems to cycle on and off very quickly. While the CPU temps stay low, I would prefer to have it either on all the time, or to only cycle up when necessary. I am unable to find any fan settings that I can adjust in the BIOS. I have tried some Windows software as well, but so far I haven't had any luck. Does anyone have any ideas?

I was wondering this aswell. The front fan he mounted Doesn't look like it's getting sufficient air. What I did is a duel intake fan on the side.
@@armang8706 yes but he said that the temperatures were worse going throught the side?🤔
There are slits on one of the sides of the front panel, it is not much. So adding the side intake I lost almost 8c. It did not make sense to me.
Lol soo can I have one of your computer 😭
The spec dimensions are close to identical to my Victus 15l desktop. Will this fan upgrade fit and work the same in mine? Thanks.
Always save the screws ⚙
Watch your hands! LoL
if i put a ryzen 7 3700x, 2060 super, 3200Mhz ram and a 1tb sata ssd in this system would it run on a 400w psu or should i upgrade to 500w?
You could do a 400watt. 500 watt would give you more over head. the 3700x is the Same wattage as the Ryzen 3 and 5 that come in the TG.
@@TNW1337 if i put all that in the tg will my temps rise since the case is so small ?
@@kev901 They will, you will want to do one of the 2 heat sinks, I have videos on. The smaller one or the larger one. The Small one I have a video on. The video is getting edited Now. With a aftermarket heat sink, I've seen temps in the 60-70c witch is ok. I do not like to see 80 or 90c. That is getting to hot for the cpu. The cpu topping out or thermal cut off that is. it will start to reduce Volt and power to the cpu to cut the temp. Most AMD's And Intels cut at 88-90c.
Finally going to mess with mine again. You ever figure out what that 4 pin is by the ram? You have to do a lot of research on this since it's a proprietary motherboard and I was really wondering since it doesn't really look labeled.
It is for extra power for SSD Or HDD.
@@TNW1337 thank you sir. Very much appreciated. How tall did you say the cooler could be? I know it was in one of the videos but couldn't remember which. Taking down notes as I go back through to order a few things.
@@TNW1337 I'm honestly kind of wondering if someone wanted to mod the case if you couldn't put an aio in the top of the case. 🤔
@@TNW1337 so I measured before doing anything. A 120mm will definitely not fit. But I think if I can find a 92mm and mount the fan on top of the radiator and mod the top it could work. Maybe exhaust it. Would still take up less space than a larger air cooler.
@@train3616 it is just sheet metal.
I’m planning on shoving a Nvidia GTX 1080Ti Founders edition into my TG. Replace my PSU with a 1000 watt 80 gold. Put in a new ryzen 7 chip. And 32gb ddr4 3000mhz ram… I already have the Gpu.. I already tried to put it in… it fits perfectly XD
you can only use HP power supplies up to 500w
yeah it sucks Just heads up you will prob want to get the 500.
Hi TechNitWit, I plan on installing the NHC14S into my HP Victus that has an Intel I7. Do I need to add the backplate, or can I install it directly onto the manufacturer's backplate?
Yes you can but you will need differnt screws or change the backplate and you can use the new screws.
Is there a specific reason you used the 3 way fan splitter or is there a Y splitter that would work for the case fans?
No just what I had I was going to try to add 3 fans. Just did not work out. Just make sure if you get a y spilter it has 1 4pin and 1 3pin.
@@TNW1337 Thanks. And thanks for all the videos. I'm new and setting my daughter up for gaming and these videos are super helpful!
I also have an HP tg01-2204ng and I understood swapping the fan. But is there a way to adjust the speed of the fans because I can't find anything in the BIOS, nor does any software in Windows recognize the fans.
Nope you can get a low speed Cable.
Hi , any solution for systam fan 90B error on noctua NH-L12S?
is the fan a PWM Fan?
so I have a question, I haven't been real thrilled with the performance of my system lately and I was wondering if you would find it better to do the upgrades to the gpu, cpu, the cooling system, as well as the power supply, or if it is more worth it to build a brand new one in a better case to better fit all of the components.
I think a case swap. Because it does not limit you PSU size, You gain XMP for Ram speed. And Better cooling if you pick the right case this can be done for a little as 250$-350$. Case, PSU, Mobo.
@@TNW1337 Do you still have a link to those cpu cooler brackets?
Anyone tried fitting NH-C14S to the older pavilion 790 version? The case is a bit shorter, but wider..
I know some one has tried and had problems. It depends on what socket they use for it.
I've never played with the 790 maybe I will pick one up off eBay to see if there is any thing that can be done.
@@TNW1337 Thanks for the response. I’ve seen NH-L9x65 placed on the 790 so I assume it’s more a question if the NH-C14S fits inside or not.
Looked like a pretty tight fit on the TG01
@@pateeericooo If it has the same mounting it should, not all noctua have the seems mounting system FYI. but if it looks the same it should work.

Also tech you are the man awesome content, I definitely feel confident in going after these upgrades myself because of your videos thanks again
Any time.
Hi. So I have a Tp01 setup. I have noticed how extremely similar the TP and Tg are in terms case dimensions. However the front plate on the Tp01 is flat w/o the vented front. Would you know where I could find a front plate to begin this upgrade?
Nope just get a tg off eBay. You could just do a case swap to a better psu mobo and case.
Any recommendations? Or possibly a video doing this swap?
Got a tg01-2027 with fake vents on the front top and bottom. Have no idea where this guy gets the air to the inlet fan from
I have an i7 and 1660 super. Is 310W enough to replace the stock fans? It only came with 1 fan and a heatsink, but I want to replace them and add 1-2 more (TG01-1209)
Yes you can add fans
@@TNW1337 cool, thanks for the reply
I have a question would I notice a difference if I upgraded my i5 processor to an AMD if so which one would you suggest?
All depends what you upgrade to if you upgrade to the Ryzen 7
@@TNW1337 I have done the cooling up grade with the large cooler great tips by the way thanks I was thinking of going to the and 7 5800 I was not sure if it’s a good move.
What socket does the Ryzen 5 5600G erica 8643 motherboard use for the cpu cooler?
The HP use a intel 1151 style cooler. It can be adapted to work with other ones on the market.
Can you do a video of upgrading the stock HP 3060 or 1650 Super GPU cooler. The HP OEM 1650 Super GPU runs so hot.
It does There only so many option to GPU coolers on the market most of them are for the higher end GPU's. Like 2080, 3090s
PLEASE HELP!! You didnt post the kit link, or even tell use the full discription of the size screw you used!! Please tell me exactly the thread and pitch and length??!!??
Huge!
It is.
Ok I benchmarked with fire strike and it was way better. 19,790. When I stress test it tho. The temps r up to 86. That's my concern
Yeah I'd look at doing a fan and Heat sink upgrade. or did you?
If I just install the CPU cooler (small version), will the HDD cage still fit?
It may. Give it a try. you will know if it will.
@@minzu79 did you find any better since then?
@@minzu79 Is it possible to add a fan and on the front ? Do I need to do something different than whats on the video ?
Hey, I just replaced the stock cpu cooler and rear fan on the TG01-2202ng (11700F and 3060Ti) with Noctua NH-L9x65 and A9x14PWM. The results are very minimal, what could have I done wrong?
Ok maybe flip the fan around on the heat sink or your paste app could be bad.
@@TNW1337 I repasted the cpu and flipped the cooler fan, it didn't really help.
Thanks for the info!
my only complaint is you said intel mounts which was amd at the end end you said again intel stock cooler when its an amd mount ....but for ppl that have this see amd maybe its worth an edit as this hp pc is better with the amd version because of over clocking which intel can do with the ram
Well it is a 1151 Mount and bracket and back plate. The socket is AM4 Did i Screw up and swap it? I use the 1151 Back plate with The Intel Mid plate the stand off are from the AMD side of the Noctua kit.
This Machine has an amd cpu, and an intel cooler, sooo... yeah nothing wrong with the video. TechNitWit tells it right. Because if you bought a cooler for an amd you would not not be able to mount it.
Hello my friend...can u help me ? I own victus 15L and i want unprade cooling system and everytime when i switch fan ,system show mi error message "SYSTEM FAN 90B" and turn off my pc .. evry fckn time :(
I swapped the Ryzen 5 3500 for the Ryzen 7 3700x, changed the memory to 2x8GB 3200 MHz and adjusted the memory speed using Ryzen Master so it actually works as 3200 MHz memory. Since I was swapping out the CPU, I also put a new cooler on it as well. Noctua NH-L12S. Everything seems to be working correctly, CPU temps around 35 - 38 when idle and never above 75 when stressed.
Pretty much your locked out. It is dumb but the Bios does a pretty good job of Ramp the fan up.
@Don Parrish I see you did all those upgrades that’s something I’m currently pursuing but I have a quick question I’m guessing your gpu is still the same have you needed to upgrade your power supply at all to keep up or is it still running fine, I just got into PC’s and am not sure if I do some upgrading will I damage the power supply with like a cpu upgrade and adding more fans
No, the power supply is more than enough with the current setup. You might need more power if you add a different video card though. I’m not much of a gamer, I intend ion using this as a video server and blue ray ripper.
@@donparrish6664 Its a good little computer. I mean if you feel you could build a computer, I would go that route. Only problem with that is you are now your own tech support.

Haha, you'd have to search for such a worthless modification! Why do you all keep pushing the Noctua NF-A9 PWM? Replacing the stock exhaust fan with it won't give you any significant improvement in terms of extraction or noise reduction. And installing this fan on the front panel without cutting holes in it is just a facepalm!! Firstly, it will suffocate due to the low number of holes, and the airflow will be significantly reduced. Secondly, even if you don't pay attention to that, the air will make noise due to the close proximity to the grid.
