    The best way for trucks and trailers on KSP (I haven't seen any videos) is use the Docking Arm (the claw) on the truck pointed horizontally, on the trailer allow for a large flat area. Then drive the truck grab on to the front of the trailer (with the back of the truck) then adjust the claw to 'free pivot mode' it might take some engineering to get weight balancing correct but the truck and trailer will have a 30' pivot
    Happy flying

  • @MrZangetsu1997
    @MrZangetsu1997 5 лет назад +1

    And for anyone using mods, you can use KAS for a much easier refueling system, bring the truck over, get a kerbal to pick up the hose and have a ladder on the ssto and plug the connector into a socket to transfer fuel rather than messing about with the docking port

    I'm using a modified (slightly - replaced center 7 rapiers with vectors, modded fuel tanks and I RCS'd the hell out of it) version of the SSTO here to make a station network. 1 Fuel station around every reasonable body in the game (excludes tiny places like bop and pol and really heckin massive ones like the Sun)
    This SSTO is great fun to fly and it's stiff functional! Seems hard to make one like that nowadays.

    I know that the new dlc is adding robotic parts, but I really think you should look into kraken tech. You can do some crazy things like this using kraken tech. I have an ssto that's flown 13 times without recovery, built mun transfer vehicles, launched GPS satellites, and captured asteroids. It even has a kick stage that can be put inside that has flown 4 times. All that and it's actually the shape of a skylon, with only the large payload bay, no cargo door. I built a gantry crane to lift everything and put it in. It works really well surprisingly.

    try doing a Starship mission with multiple payloads (you could either fill the starship once it's landed or just get a new starship and dock it to the booster.

    The kraken issue (from my own experience) is an item on your docked module far to close to the cargo bay, I.e. I solar panel or comms unit coming slightly too close/within the hit box of the cargo bay. I've lost many a comms relay or probe to this issue.

    Big difference between Hazar-dish's truck and Matt's? Matt's work without cheats

    My SSTOs reach orbit easily, delivering 6 kerbals and payload to any object in LKO
    Then they proceed to tumble during reentry and overheating, losing their wings, miss the KSC's continent and splash down at 400 m/s

    That's even cooler than reusable stages! Pretty interesting idea, actually... Maybe recovery is not always the best way?

    Still my favourite video of yours. Might be a fun one to revisit with 1.8 engine updates and Breaking Ground parts? Or maybe I'll give it a bash...

    If you keep the fuel checked on the top right and right click which tank you’re unloading it’s much much faster

    You should have used a fuel cell on the truck to provide EC instead of solar panels. You already had fuel tanks on the sides so it'd be a logical step to add fuel cells onto it.
