      Thank you Annette! I read up on a bunch of full body scans and this is supposed to be one of the most accurate. I was surprised to find one fairly close to us! As much as I would have loved to wait until after we reach our goals to get the scan done, like I've seen others do, I felt like I really needed to see where we were starting in order to know that this lifestyle is right for us!

    Interesting. Did you request the Dexa via your primary care doctor, or from an independent? That would be cool for me and my husband to get done together. I'm going to look into that. Thanks for sharing. What? He's 10 1/2 years older. Cradle robber (kidding). LOL. You make a cute couple. And honey, those pictures of you were fabulous! You were a knock-out!!!

    • @DiggingForHealth
      @DiggingForHealth  6 месяцев назад +1

      Many DEXA scans are available independently without needing to involve a doctor but if you actually needed one for your bones, it might be something that insurance would cover. They can be pricey depending on where you live, I was pleasantly surprised to see that is was $65 locally (the lowest price I've seen) but I believe $99 is common. So just be prepared for possible sticker shock.
      Haha, yes he's much older but we met at work and he didn't have a clue how old I was. 🤣 I did all of the wooing, he tried to resist for a long time, lol!

    • @DiggingForHealth

      I'm not positive but probably in 6 months? Unless we have really dramatic changes sooner, then we might go as soon as 3 months out.
      I wonder if they used a DEXA machine for you too and just only shared the bone density results!
      Thank you for being here, Peggy!

      6 months sounds like a good plan

    Oh my god this is so cool and hmm 🤔 I wonder if we have that here in Canada 🇨🇦. 50% is giggly girl too 😂😂 your the best and fat is not always a bad thing keep that in mind. Now if you have bad joojoo in your body does it show that too? 4:08 we all knew Grunt was an android 😅😅 but it gives you a realistic view of what you need to do 👍. Always keep in mind you are most beautiful people and outward is not always the end goal but healthy and happy means a lot too ❤❤ eat your veggies 🥦 love you both, Ali 🇨🇦👍🇺🇸

      I bet they have them in Canada too! The technology has been around for a while, they just keep improving it. I'm sure there are certain bad joojoo things that would show up but probably not anything that an X-ray wouldn't see. If I end up healthy with some left over fluff, I'm fine with that too. 😆

    This is interesting. Does it tell you anywhere what your goal weight is? Dr. McDougall says women should be around 120 lbs, but I think this shows that it wouldn't work out for you even if you lost 100% fat. I'm I understanding that right?

    • @DiggingForHealth
      @DiggingForHealth  6 месяцев назад

      It shows what you would weigh with zero body fat and mine says 129lbs with no fat at all. I'm 5' 3-3/4" tall so ideal weight is going to vary for everyone even when using a BMI scale. I will likely lose some muscle mass as I lose weight as well because my body won't need to hold up all of the fat anymore BUT I do have the advantage of knowing how much I weighed before. When I weighed 120lbs my bones were sticking out and it was too skinny for me but 130lbs looked healthy. That was prior to having a child and many other physical changes with age but I still anticipate 130lbs being pretty close to optimal for me. 😊
      Thank you for watching and for the great comment! 💕
