Who else tried to time the riffs in their head during the silence, to test their memory of the song timing? It was a fun exercise, I was off by 2 secs. Anyone else get it exactly right?
I always thought Malcolm is a beast - now I know he was the beast of burden of this band. I just play along with it - D-C-G always works. Angus is just the tip of the iceberg, Malcolm is the massive rock under the surface.
I really love that Donington version, I found it to be very special ❤️. Thank you so much for doing this, highly appreciated, what an amazing work!! Keep doing more of this please ✌️
Does Mal have some kinda reverb on in the beginning? On his amp or an effect or anything? Or is it just the natural kinda echo and the way he's strumming?
No nothing. It's him, a Gretsch G6131, a cable to Marshall amps (Mix of Super Bass and Leads, depending on the Venue and situation, because they're pushing these Amps pretty hard!) and then directly to the speaker.
No special effects. His amps are old school, not even distortion or gain knobs. His “gain” comes naturally by cranking the amps to full volume. Since he’s running a clean channel, he can strum lightly and create a clean sound, and strum hard when he wants the tubes to crack. His neck pickup is absent so there is a hollow sound to his guitar, you can especially hear the hollowness when he strums lightly. Likely why it may sound like reverb to some.
None of the sort. That sound is probably coming from his guitar because it is hollowed out. His type of Gretsch guitar body is chambered. It’s almost like he’s playing an acoustic guitar

I was off by like half a second
😂 i could not the first 2 tries. Nice to know there are others playing the same🤟
too slow by a second
Malcolm alone always sounds like the energy and groove of the whole band boiled down to a single track.
Most amazing rhythm guitar playing of all time
I would not reduce this statement to the rhythm guitar.
These videos are brilliant 👍 get to hear those little changes that you didn't realise Mal made to the rhythm , keep releasing them .. please 😂
For real
Btw what is that Gretsch on your pfp ? Cuz it's looks awesome 🔥
Malcolm Young war ein genialer Gitarrist

Malcolm was the engine that powered the band ....angus was the HP it produced 👍
mal the best
It's all Malcom Young
Yes, yes it is. In fact almost everything about this band can be attributed to him.

I think its a little bit of angus getting into mal’s mic or just the way the audio engineers mixed the surround mix for the dvd

I just don't get what is so great about this?? Do any of the people who commented play guitar? This is simple and cool ...but very average.
The simplicity is the genius. Too bad you missed it.
@@rockhopper01 I guess you are right. And I myself am an average guitar player. I will learn these parts. Thank you!
Yep u could probably copy a Van Goch painting if you tried but you didn't create it
How come beginners and talent free people always think this is easy?
@@miles-thesleeper-monroe8466 And reading "to be or not to be" doesnt make you a Shakespeare either
