The goat 🐐 of all rhythm guitar players!! My first guitar teacher through cassette tapes and a blown out speaker for distortion. Miss you Malcolm, RIP ❤️
He came up with that song..!!! I remember hearing it first time,i was so blown away and since i never stop being amaze every times i hear it..! R.I.P. Malcom we miss you....
The comments prove how much Malcolm Young was loved and respected as a rhythm guitarist. As a long time fan, since 78’, this makes me happy and choked up at the same time. Long Live Malcolm Young ⚡️
Halfway through the double time section towards the end, I suddenly remembered that all this video features is Malcolm’s guitar, but the music sounded so complete and full. That’s how powerful Malcolm’s playing was
For me as a guitar student who's target ist to try to reach at least a few percent of Malcom's skills and tone, it's totally impressive how little gain / distortion he was actually playing and how little reverb he is using. It's almost clean with a little crunch and the notes fade within seconds. But still it sounds so damn great. -> Money doen's by sound. Skill and knowledge does. Which Malcom has had plenty of :-))
Somehow listening to this and looking at that photo of Malcolm I’m struck not by how incredible a guitarist and songwriter he was, or by how badass this sounds. Instead I have a feeling of awe and respect for what I see as the important work he dedicated himself to. What he he did with his life brought immeasurable joy to countless people.
Vocals: bleed over only a tiny bit. Angus: barely bleeds over at all. Hi hat and other brass: quite a bit of bleed over. Cannon: YOU WILL HEAR EVERYTHING I HAVE TO SAY
Interesting to hear some of the little blips he plays within the riffs - almost like a singer staying in character during performance, between vocal lines. I never noticed them before. I really think these videos are invaluable for anyone trying to understand the complexities and nuances of great rhythm playing - not to mention songwriting.
Deadened string hits. The kind of thing a guitar teacher would tell you is 'sloppy playing'. But it added feel and rhythm, and it's one of the things that made Malcolm such a great player.
Thanks for posting this, you can hear the brilliance of The Late Malcolm Young’s playing, and I know Malcolm and Angus played clean, but they got a great sounding classic rock tone.
incredible how near the end, he snapped one of his 12 gauge strings, and that's no easy feat at all, malcom's right hand was inhuman, it was a buzzsaw striking those thick heavy strings
A perfect matching Rhythm to Angus Youngs LEAD ... synchronized to absolute perfection , seamless. Just realizing now how it almost sounds like its on Delay . I guess that is what it has to be so as to not splash over Angus Lead Riffs ... ( I'm not a musician , so I dont know the exact terminology)
@@danielpetrucci8952 yeah, it's the nature of the beast. Also, the fact that the D and G are the highest strings (radius wise) they take a lot of the beating when you're hitting the chords hard.
So cool he is playing bridge filtertron, volume output jack ..... Marshall ... seeing his rig ..... I was like ... no wonder I was mystified by his tone. I always had gibson paf and solid body gtrs on the brain. It wasn't adding more, the right pedal, the right tone pot, it was less and the rest his hands. Simply brilliant.
hello haksul how are you doing ????? i am doing well i have a question i have the ac dc live dvd at donington park blu ray version but i want to separate the different tracks like guitar drum vocals (etc) like the rock band track pack of acdc live donington do you know maybe a way of how i can do that what program i need to get that done?
To me, this is the greatest sound on the planet.
and the greatest by far
Yes yes yes
Agreed
The best rhythm guitar player and quite possibly one of the best guitarist since rock music started.
i've always said my 3 fav rythym players are malcom, jimi, and evh
@@cheezyridr My top 3 rythym players would have to be Malcolm Young, Toni iomi and James Hetfield

I Agree ..the BEST Rhythm Guitarist after Chuck Berry ...I´m TOTAL into AC/DC now ...
@@ThrashRoC mals better than chuck, lets be 100% not biased here
One of the greatest rock intro's ever. The chemistry between these two brothers cannot be matched. Just perfect.

Couldn’t have said it better mate!
The goat 🐐 of all rhythm guitar players!! My first guitar teacher through cassette tapes and a blown out speaker for distortion. Miss you Malcolm, RIP ❤️
Imagine walking into a Mom and Pop music store and seeing Malcolm plinking around on a Gretsch and a Fender combo. Amazing.
And smoking 😂😂😂
Imagine being the schmucks in the background chatting with a salesperson while a living legend was right in front of you.
Gretsch & Marshall
@@tunafang If you look closely in the backround, that's Angus talking with the salesperson and the big dude is his bodyguard

That's a great point, Simmo. Sometimes a guy is so good at creating a groove that suddenly you don't miss all the other stuff!
I could listen to this all day
Dude was a machine. Great timing/rhythm/precision. What a treat. A real hoot-n-annie.
he was a clock, for sure
Sound absolutely amazing. Beautiful tone, Malcolm will be missed. RIP Malcolm !
Malcolm Young is the only man on Earth who is allowed to smoke in a music store.
Don’t forget Jim Morrison filling up at the gas/petrol station 🚬 🚘 🚉

A master of time and space. He always made those riffs come alive.

@Troy Lorenzo thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I really appreciate it !

Absolutely! Without Malcolm, Angus wouldn’t sound nearly as good! Truly no offense to Angus!

Malcolm Young is the world best hard rock Rhythm Guitarist in Australia-Asia Pacific & the world.
Without a doubt 👍
Agree.
He really do dig into those strings....what a rythm guitar legend.
He hitted them really hard. You can even hear that one of his strings just broke.
Those massive open G chords!

The master of rock rhythm guitar.
Supposedly a fantastic lead player as well! Dearly missed!
So clean, dynamic.
The absolute raw precision and the heartbeat of AC/DC! Malcolm! 👏
And very clean, just about to breakup but punishing those power amp tubes with volume. LOTS of volume.
It’s amazing how clean his tone is, very loud with just a little grit.
G-string can't take it anymore at 4:34, and it taps out.
Yeah I notised that too
And he used a wound G string. Just dug in so hard
And in the final song of the set, thats brilliant 🤘

Perfect tone
I love that distorted semi hollow sound.
Dude.. the 63 Gretsch Jet Firebird is a hollow body, no center block.. !!.. thus the need to stuff socks in the holes.. rock on..!!
Actually, no distortion

Ridiculously underrated guitarist!
Underrated? By whom? What are you talking about. He’s legend recognized by everyone
