eloy is a human metronome. or maybe he isn't human. i never saw a drummer that precise and creative hitting a drumkit that hard. no disrespect to jay, but slipknot found someone to match joey's greatness.

@@mv32ml47-wh9zb jay is not just good, he's an excelent musician. i just don't think he fits slipknot as good as joey and eloy kind of drummers. i mean, i like his compositions but i don't like him playing live for slipknot. i really wish he gets the recognition he deserves playing for ST and other bands he may join in the future.

E com o Eloy pude notar q tudo esta organizado dentro do seu tempo certinho(q pra mim é uma coisa boa de se ouvir)

Once i listened to Sepultura album "The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart" i knew that Eloy will be the best drummer in the world. Few years ago Sepultura visited my hometown and when Eloy started i thought my heart is going to explode. He's got unlimited power and technique.

Eloy brings the entire band performance up. His style is perfect for Slipknot. It's like the band turned back the clock. I saw them in Toronto with Jay and it was great but this show seems next level

The band's rapport now is impressive. The guys are in brutal harmony. Eloy brought a lot of technique and vigor; and I always say "the drums are the beating heart of the band, if they're not 100% special, things are more or less good". Long live Slipknot!

When you bring in someone like Eloy, everyone knows they need to bring their A-game. Slipknot has never sounded this tight live! That's what a solid drummer will do for you. Jay and Joey are important elements of the Slipknot legacy, but Eloy is in a whole different level. World class musician, could be playing with Tribal Tech right now. And one of the humblest guys around. Slipknot struck gold, can't wait for new original material. You can tell how committed the rest of the band is. \m/

Eloy is a force. One to be reckoned with. His power, precision, technique, and emotion encapsulates the primitive drive that Slipknot originally brought to the table when they hit the scene in the late 90s. Good for Slipknot for bringing in the right guy to deliver that POWER. Of course Joey is legendary in his own right, and Jay played his heart out with them for a decade. All unique chapters of the band, but this new one on the horizon has me just as excited as I was when I saw them in '99 at 11 am on 2nd stage Ozzfest.

@@Palikroked87Technically not all the parts because Eloy actually added quite a bit of extra fills in everywhere. If you didn’t noticed, it’s because his extra fills just fit in with the song perfectly.
The drums were already very complicated as played by Joey.

He's my top drummer in metal right now. He's an absolute machine that perfectly blends speed, power and technique while also having serious chops and the ability to blend styles flawlessly. All this while having immaculate timing and precision.
@@tonamg53 anything he adds to the live performance is just his personal touch, Joey still is the mastermind behind these legendary drum parts, not saying Eloy is not good, he's amazing! But he will come up with his own killer drum parts on future recordings for sure

Awesome performance; it really sounds like he's reinvigorating the whole band there (as good a job as Max did, his playing was always more "I'm playing these songs right" workmanlike than "I'm destroying the fucking kit!" inspiring). I can't wait to hear some pro-shot stuff with good clear sound, so we can really hear just how much heavy artillery Eloy's bringing to the band.

I feel eloy was able to bring us back to those early slipknot days. Joey was awesome as his drum parts are goated, and jay had a great feel, but eloy is a different breed. Its amazing to see a drummer fit so well for a band, some bands get a new drummer and theres alot of hit or miss this just feels right in so many ways he also fits thr part costume wise, with eloy he was born to play for slipknot, his aggression,feel,time and musical knowledge adds to much feel to slipknot and make them very interesting again. It's a great marketing choice for the band as they have all eyes on them rn. Also much love from Hamilton bro Chur

I love the power and groove he brings to Slipknot and you can hear glimpses of Sepultura. My one worry is even though he is also a physical specimen I wonder how sustainable it is playing his style on tour night after night after night (Slipknots music is far more demanding). And your'e right you cant compare drummers talent but does it become not drumming, but a matter of endurance and durability like Olympic class levels of fitness. Anyway I love Eloy he is world class and I hope he absolutely stamps his mark on the band and his career.

As a long time Slipknot fan, this is one of the cleanest videos I have seen of them performing live. They all played great here and seemed so in sync. You can tell they are enjoying playing this show with Eloy.
Andrew!!! The whole band felt different with Eloy "Oppenheimer" Casagrande on drums... I´m from Brazil and i´m so much proud for Eloy in Slipknot, but even more proud to see a brazillian shocking a big band like them.

It's definitely Eloy because his left arm tattoo is the same and I've never heard anyone else play Slipknot songs THAT hard. I've seen his covers from 3 years ago. I'm sure Slipknot saw them too.

Obviously he was in one of biggest metal bands in the world and is now in another one of the biggest metal bands in the world, but in his lesser known work, he can really mess with time, such as polyrhythms and odd meters.
The dude is quite literally the whole package for drumming. He's so versatile. And his ability to do odd meter/prog metal/djent could really bring Slipknot into uncharted territory musically.
Orrrrrrr Slipknot could be his way to let loose and have his lesser known project Casagrande & Hanysz be where he's more thoughtful and meticulous with his compositions (similar to Aric Improta when he was in Fever 333 and then his main, lesser known band, Night Verses).

As a brazilian drummer I follow Eloy's carrer for a long long time, and something about 5/6 years he became my favourite drummer.
And the best thing is: Slipknot is one of my 5 favourite bands, with A7x, Pantera, Dream theater and Maiden.
So can you imagine how happy i am? Actually i don't have words, such as my friends here.
Here in Brazil we are celebrating like it was a football world cup championship.

This is the closest to early slipknot as they've ever sounded. Maybe its due to being recorded through a phone, but it sounds a lot more raw and brutal. Corey actually sounds a lot more like old corey here too. Maybe its the mask - it just brings something out in him
