During the drum solo, Eloy stayed damn near on tempo at 120-122bpm, but when the whole band joins back in he slowed it down to (IIRC) 108-110bpm. The studio version stays roughly 120bpm. Yeah, Im glad Eloy is the new drummer. I feel its now worth watching them live again. But a lot of fans and RUclipsrs seem to have developed amnesia all of the sudden. Reacting to songs like this with Eloy as if they never heard anything like that before. I mean if they started listening to Slipknot back when they had Jay then I guess it makes sense but when I see Eloys performance Im reminded of the shows I saw back in 1999-2004 with Joey. The same level of speed and power plus adding his crazy headbanging and stick tricks. It was always a thrill to watch.
To think that his former band was booed by the crowd while opening for Slipknot back in the days and he shut them up with an amazing drum solo... and now we're here
Takes me back to August of 2001 when me and my friend(who was a drummer), bought the Iowa CD on release day and we played it in his car. This song just blew my mind! To this day Iowa for me is the best metal album ever made!! RIP Joey Jordison & Paul Gray
Eloy Casagrande is today the best drummer in the world. Big Slipknot acquisition. It will certainly bring a lot of quality in the next albums and even in the shows.
Slipknot have finally rediscovered the power behind the drums they've been lacking. Jay Weinberg did a great job (I loved what he did on “Chapter 5”) but in concert he played without a “click” and you could hear it, he often made mistakes and was sometimes far from the original. If you compare the track “Psychosocial” played live with Jay and Eloy here, it's incomparable in terms of precision and heaviness. I think all the songs on this concert with Eloy are played with a click, it's obvious or they worked a lot with Eloy. They're all hyper-precise throughout the concert....I can't wait to hear what Eloy does on the next album. Eloy pushed Sepultura to the top (just listen to “Quadra” for proof), so imagine what it could be like with Slipknot!
We have to thank an amazing young Joey jordison for writing such amazing peices and also thank Eloy for putting the meat and potatoes and mallets to the skins live.
i enjoyed Eloy with sepultura however im holding out on an opinion on slipknot until i see an entire set. i am getting that opportunity in August in Gilford NH.
One important note. If you go back and watch any live performance where Jay was drumming for this song, the pace feels way off. Jay played this song way too fast and it really impacts the feel of the song. Eloy really brings back the pace of the song and it goes way harder!
When Jay joined Slipknot for first time, everyone was complainig. He did at the end a very good job, he tried his best but never reached Joey. However now that Eloy was joined by Slipknot, I havent seen any hate comment at all. This is it!! He is the One.

To think that his former band was booed by the crowd while opening for Slipknot back in the days and he shut them up with an amazing drum solo... and now we're here
CRAZY
Takes me back to August of 2001 when me and my friend(who was a drummer), bought the Iowa CD on release day and we played it in his car. This song just blew my mind! To this day Iowa for me is the best metal album ever made!!
RIP Joey Jordison & Paul Gray
🙌
Look how big everyone appears next to Eloy...he's really short...but huge on the kit.
That "2.09" part is from the original song but it's extended a bit with the "big" fills.
We all elevate one another this is clear proof of that.
Eloy its a alien!
OR GOD OR BOTH
I like Kenworth truck grills on the stage! Nice decoration!
Eloy Casagrande is today the best drummer in the world. Big Slipknot acquisition. It will certainly bring a lot of quality in the next albums and even in the shows.
Best Metal drummer.
IT is really cool that sprinkling a new ingredient into the Slipknot recipe = this kind of energy!!!!!🤯🤯🤯🤯
Now Corey has time to pronounce the words
Tempo solves a lot of issues. People don't realise how wide reaching it is
He is..... Hard to explain..... Its like Joey is back there....but younger and hungry again. I get chills....
Yup I hear ya on the chills
It's just SO FUCKING GOOD!
Impossibly good
Eloy is the best fit for slipknot.. The power, the precision with that much speed and he still makes it groove..
É noizzz de novoooo🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
We have to thank an amazing young Joey jordison for writing such amazing peices and also thank Eloy for putting the meat and potatoes and mallets to the skins live.
100%
i enjoyed Eloy with sepultura however im holding out on an opinion on slipknot until i see an entire set. i am getting that opportunity in August in Gilford NH.
This is the best they have ever sounded
It's phenomenal. And it's recorded on a phone! haha
Tiny first show only, the tour is just beginning
One important note. If you go back and watch any live performance where Jay was drumming for this song, the pace feels way off. Jay played this song way too fast and it really impacts the feel of the song. Eloy really brings back the pace of the song and it goes way harder!
tks, Eloy is great - Eloy GreatHouse 🇧🇷
When Jay joined Slipknot for first time, everyone was complainig. He did at the end a very good job, he tried his best but never reached Joey.
However now that Eloy was joined by Slipknot, I havent seen any hate comment at all. This is it!! He is the One.
I found Eloy on RUclips I'm not sure of the year I think 2015, he was with Sepultura,
What a drummer!!!
Indeed
Eloy is a fucking freaking beast from Brazil 👿🇧🇷
🇧🇷🙌🏆
Thank you for this!!!
Had a Arby's chicken wrap sandwich wrap ad pop up right when the breakdown started....I'll never eat at an Arby's again
HAHAHA
