@@dreyjaneva9003 Yeah I mean he's pretty much a revolutionary in his own way. Just like Koby. Just like Garp in their own ways. For TRUE change in the real world it takes those within the systems and without pushing back. One Piece is written so well because whether it's the Admirals, the Vice Admirals, Captains, Warlords, Celestial Dragons, Pirates, they ALL are well written to have their own motivations and for a few of them that are technically Luffy's enemy they are for the revolution in one way or another. Take Garp as a strong example. He is very much pro freedom and justice in the way that MOST of us would understand justice and freedom. He is revolting within the Navy in his own way. Acting like Garp and Koby and Aokiji is ALMOST as brave and commendable as Dragon or Saul, or Ivankov, it takes little bits of change and courage in all levels and systems to affect true change not just an army and criminals on the outside pushing back. I like to think Aokiji gave Spandam the power because he knew if he did it himself, it would've been settled 100% - the strawhats would NEVER survive. If Spandam did it and was in charge and repsonsible, there was like a 50/50% chance, and Aokiji knew that.
Yeah, we’re also grateful to watch this masterpiece one piece even right now 1k episodes more, it’s still not long, we need more, this is how good this anime is
The Water 7 party is probably one of my favorite after-arc-parties in the series. It’s just so joyful and fun! And the conversation between Aokiji and Robin is just amazing
There are Pirates who have nobal values and Pirates who are absolutely horrible. There are Marines that are hell bent on destruction and Marines who are determined to protect. Both sides are varied greatly. This is why..... In the live action they added the really touching moment with Koby and Luffy where they look into each other's eyes and say "Be a Good Pirate" "Be a Good Marine" It was never about competency or greatness.... It was always about alignment. Because as long as they are both Good, they will always be connected.
@jenniferrickard7228 Honestly, I thought the whole "good pirate" stuff in the LA felt like "Americanizing" Luffy. Luffy doesn't care about being good, he cares about the idea of "being free" and "freedom". He helps people that HE thinks are good, he doesn't really do good things to be good. It kind of waters down the complexity of characters when their goal is about being "good" or "bad". Also, Luffy being a "good pirate" doesn't work that well when down the line, there's things that he does or doesn't do that make Luffy's morality more grey. KInd of like Gon in HxH.
@ToothofaShark I wouldn't say Americanized...but maybe more like Television adapted. Because as a show, they don't know how many more seasons they can land. Also the Audience could be unfamiliar with the original content entirely. I've seen similar moments in K-dramas being adapted from web comics. They were kinda set up so that people who weren't familiar with the comic could still enjoy it, and then serve to potentially make them more invested in characters and more driven to check out the original content. Part of getting people more invested in the characters is by adding very sentimental moments like this moments and allowing those moments to impose more character alignment into the viewers perspective.
@@jenniferrickard7228 Sorry, let me clarify what I was trying to say. I was talking more on the LA simplifying Luffy's character with the "Good Pirate" moments. I don't mind character growth scenes, in fact those are the moments I love in the One Piece manga. I don't like that adding the "Good Pirate" element waters down Luffy's character. It makes Luffy into a generic "good guy", instead of the Luffy that can save Vivi's kingdom and be friends with Bon Clay; who helped try kill the people in that kingdom. LA Luffy can't be friends with Bon Clay or do what he did in Impel Down because that wouldn't be what a good pirate does, but original Luffy can. I don't see the point in simplifying the characterization of Luffy, unless they lacked faith in viewers understanding a morally complex Luffy. Hopefully that clarifies my point a little more.
Rewatching everything Shanks related is crazy right now considering the current events in the manga (no spoilers). You have only just glimpsed the tip of the Shanks iceberg (no Water 7 pun intended).
the bigger the world gets the more insane you realize it is that Mihawk sailed from east blue to the new world to see shanks in the time that they resolved arlong park.
You can also notice a change in robin from now on, before she used to call the member of the straw hat by their characteristic like Usopp will be long nose, Sanji cook or Nami navigator. That’s because she didn’t want to bond to much with them but after all this, now she can call them by their name 😢
I feel you so much about being grateful about experiencing this story. I always try to spread one piece to anyone i know would watch just because i want others to get this gift too, and it is partly the reason i watch reaction of the show. Glad you two like it as you do. Now 1000 episodes just don't seem enough do they?
After all these years of watching one piece, i just understood something that Aokiji said that you won't make sense of until a few hundred episodes later. I can't believe Oda would do that. That's insane.
this type of episode what i like about one piece.. there is no crazy fight but still can make u hype, emotion and love this series.. the way oda put all this moment is masterpiece
During the flashback of Ohara, Aokiji tells Robin that "absolute justice" can destroy a man (I'm paraphrasing). It's true that Aokiji let Robin live because it was Saul's dying wish, but it also aligns with Aokiji's sense of justice, and inability to commit to "absolute justice". Aokiji knew he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he destroyed every Oharan, so he let Robin live as he hoped to redeem his actions during the buster call. Aokiji placed his hopes of retaining his humanity in Robin, which is why he is following her so closely. If she started to use her knowledge in a threatening manner, Aokiji was ready to eliminate the threat of Ohara that he was supposed to eliminate during the Buster Call, but he genuinely hoped that Robin would turn out to be good and justify his choice to let her live.
I like to think that when the series finally end, there will be an epilogue set in the far future where we see Admiral Koby freaking out over his grandchild who wants to be the Pirate King.
Kuzan is one of the best examples of "All men have their own brand of justice". This is the reason why they gave live-action Garp that line in OPLA Season 1.
The manga chapter with the Vegapunk reveal was released on November 6th, 2006, over 9 years after One Piece started in July 1997. Keep that date in the back of your heads
I can't believe how important that Shanks and Whitebeard scene is. I think I commented on someone's reaction last year about how it's still relevant in the manga but 1 whole year later and we're still talking and finding out details about what they're talking about today 😂
15:00 His foreshadowing and foresight is one of the things Oda gets praised the most about. It's a good thing you are taking notes, because A LOT of that is coming back at some point. Even throwaway lines and gags can be clues for things coming later. That's why we collectively agree Oda isn't human.
"Thank goodness it's over a thousand episodes" that's what people don't get about One Piece. One Piece is, and will over be, even when it's finished, too short. It's short and we're grateful for every single episode, chapter and panel because it's SO GOOD. Reading/watching One Piece is a life-changing event

This was another great episodes with events and development that sets up what is to cone, leaves you excited qnd even has some reveals along the way! This was a meet-up that had me very excited! To see this huge characters together was great! I was very intreagued and captivated, as the dialogue provided some great exposition and really lets you know just how things can really get later on! Once again it all goes back to the beginning, making these small moments seem really significant now! Even after all these episodes, we can not forget how it all started! The animation was solid too, and has only stayed the same level as Enies Lobby!
Historically speaking, the Continent of America was dubbed as the New World. That's as far a "spoilers" I can give about its look, with an exception of one prominent country. 😊
This show is about to get a whole lot more adult philosophically, after the next arc, where nothing happens. Definitely bring the tissues for the 400s range of episodes. It’s painful, but it’s my favourite fiction series out there.
Given the recent manga chapters, Whitebeards comment about how looking at Shanks face reminds him of that guy takes on a whole new meaning 😮 Oda truly stays cooking.
3:50 I don't know if you remember, but the reason Helmeppo covers his eyes when Coby says Garp brought them in after "an incident." The incident was when they were transferring his dad, Captain Morgan, but he took Helmeppo hostage and cut Garp across the chest, and Coby actually stumbled his way into saving Helmeppo and Morgan got away. Afterwards, they were worried about Garp but he was asleep the whole time and didn't even know he was cut 😂😂😂. That's what Coby was talking about. I think it was a filler episode in the east blue, but it was a cover story in the manga.
in terms of eras of pirates, you can say there's Rogers Era of the past, "Shanks" Era of the present (tho Shanks is not the singular current factor just a reference), and the future pirate era with our Captain. So we are generally living thru 3 rich pirate eras not just decades, but of corse it is a lot more complicated as you two proceed with your pirate journey.
With all the context we have with current manga and future reveals in mind, these episodes in re-watch become 100 times better... And every re-watch makes me appreciate it more...

I like to think Aokiji gave Spandam the power because he knew if he did it himself, it would've been settled 100% - the strawhats would NEVER survive. If Spandam did it and was in charge and repsonsible, there was like a 50/50% chance, and Aokiji knew that.
Yeah, we’re also grateful to watch this masterpiece one piece even right now 1k episodes more, it’s still not long, we need more, this is how good this anime is
3:20 no way Luffy remembers Alvida's name.
ye,that’s pretty surprising
First victim. (Not counting the Lord of the Coast)
In the live action they added the really touching moment with Koby and Luffy where they look into each other's eyes and say
"Be a Good Pirate"
"Be a Good Marine"
It was never about competency or greatness....
I mean it's not like the calm belt is gonna give Hawkeye any issues
@@MrPsych77 well it does. Sure the seakings arent a problem, but his boat still needs wind for the sail
@@darkcartman2826 we saw this man's boat casually moving with the sails still up.
Symbolic finding your 🌲 = Finding your family 🌲
17:42 you've come a long way girls. we're just as glad as you are that we, as an audience, get to be with you in your OP journey 💕
18:16 yep that how every onepiece lovers feel it's not enough.... Give me more.... Truly oda 🙏 a magician 22:21 OMG 🤯 if you know you know ..... 🤌🙏🔥
the title was so real 😆😆😆 Shanks Aura +10000000
18:26 also this part 🤣 ppl who said Op was Long is basically dont watch One piece or just hating the show..
I dont want to end One Piece fr
When you start to feel sad because other people don't watch One Piece, that's, to me, the biggest possible milestone for a fan.
this type of episode what i like about one piece.. there is no crazy fight but still can make u hype, emotion and love this series.. the way oda put all this moment is masterpiece
Love when there's a big party after major events. Just fills you full of hope.
"he is so cool that people are fainting" hahah
Not even that inaccurate an interpretation of what's actually going on
@Naija_Ninja I know
but thats what she said as reaction to them fainiting, appearently she doesnt know about haki yet .
@@abdessalamtabou8931
I know, I was saying even though it sounds ridiculous, it's a essentially what's actually happening
I hope you guys didn't forget about Mr.4 dogs Lassoo, a canon ate dog dog devil fruits
Whiteboard: Where did your arm go?
Shanks: I gave it to a kid.
Will always be the best translation 😂
HE'S SO COOL PEOPLE ARE FAINTING
im dead
I kinda wish I could go back to this moment, erase every memory I have of One Piece and theorize. Then come back to everything we know now.
The manga chapter with the Vegapunk reveal was released on November 6th, 2006, over 9 years after One Piece started in July 1997. Keep that date in the back of your heads
i love watching people reacting one piece and loving it
Take note of the word “HAKI”. 🤭🤭🤭
I always do love their dedication to wearing makeup while watching One Piece, when they know they will cry at nearly every episode. 😂
The famous "Its too much" conversion to "nowhere near enough" realization!
Imagine if Coby the person who caught Luffy when he became the King of the Pirates
Koby is so annoying character..it would make half of op fans mad if something like this happens..
On power level even jimbei could defeat him
@facut768 all I can do is laughing while reading your comments lol
Spoiler
Assuming there is even still gonna be a WG to turn him in to
"Thank goodness it's over a thousand episodes" that's what people don't get about One Piece. One Piece is, and will over be, even when it's finished, too short. It's so insanely huge that no matter what there's always more to explore and it always feel like a breeze. It's short and we're grateful for every single episode, chapter and panel because it's SO GOOD. Reading/watching One Piece is a life-changing event
Shanks knows the most about the world 😭 I feel like he knows all the op devil fruits
They said something about Sea Prism Stone on Skypia when they were talking about Imperial Cumulus. They said pyrobloin was pumped into the atmosphere by volcanoes and that its a component of sea prism stone and was what made island clouds and sea clouds possible.
One of the best endings for an arc and yeah plenty of amazing stuff coming soon! Also can I just say it's so great how the talks between and after episodes has been getting longer and longer. Really shows how invested you both are in the story and how much fun you're having! Love you guys!
post-arc episodes are the best! we get a huge banquet, a massive info dump, and our questions answered with events coming full circle and/or resolving ❤
I liked how she corrected herself from Spandam to Spanda.
shanks and whitebeard casually speaking about lore is so wild xD
I love how they both talk like they're part of the crew
This was another great episodes with events and development that sets up what is to cone, leaves you excited qnd even has some reveals along the way!
This was a meet-up that had me very excited! To see this huge characters together was great! I was very intreagued and captivated, as the dialogue provided some great exposition and really lets you know just how things can really get later on!
Once again it all goes back to the beginning, making these small moments seem really significant now! Even after all these episodes, we can not forget how it all started!
The animation was solid too, and has only stayed the same level as Enies Lobby!
You guys' jaws hurting from smiling is exactly how this story should be :)
18:13 This is how most people feel when they finally take the One Piece plung. You'll love being caught up, but dreed the weekly wait😭
Buggy and Shanks being on Rogers ship at the same time is so awesome and funny at the same time.
This moment of Aokiji saying "Live strongly" Is awesome and always get me
They keep getting more subscribers it’s amazing
The first half of grand line also has a name, its called "paradise"...and there is a reason behind it.
These Episodes were released in 2007. We only got to see Vegapunk last year.
The meeting of the two Emperors is a key turning point. Remember where you were that day.
Marco looked so fried in his earlier appearances. 😂
A lot of Marine Battleships are side wheeler paddleboats on top of having sails. Not all of them, but some.
Historically speaking, the Continent of America was dubbed as the New World. That's as far a "spoilers" I can give about its look, with an exception of one prominent country. 😊
Wow you pay attention to details so well❤
This show is about to get a whole lot more adult philosophically, after the next arc, where nothing happens. Definitely bring the tissues for the 400s range of episodes. It’s painful, but it’s my favourite fiction series out there.
22:23 “Whenever I see your face the scar that guy gave me throbs” Shanks wasn’t the one who scarred him, it was THAT GUY
Given the recent manga chapters, Whitebeards comment about how looking at Shanks face reminds him of that guy takes on a whole new meaning 😮
Oda truly stays cooking.
Just so u know those that Whitebeard mentioned Roger, Garp, Sengoku and including Whitebeard himself were the strongest of their era and r still considered as the strongest by many.
Daaamn . I watched your review of the live action and of Episode 1 of the anime. Glad you stuck with it ❤❤
vegapunk first being mentioned all the way back here is bananas
