  • I had an issue with my recent order of Easy Subli, so I tried pressing a sublimation transfer onto it. I can't take the stress of pressing the subli first, then trying to line it all up. This video shows you the stress free way to do it onto parchemnt paper first.

    I found this video by sheer accident - and I am so glad I did! Your step-by-step explanation is so clear and concise. Plus you saved me from the headache of not being able to easily print on easysibli using an Epson converted printer.
    I can't thank you enough to making this video.

    I have a week of messing up partially printed easy subli in my epson. I am excited to make this work. It also now gives me a way to use up all the smaller size pieces of easy subli I have. I used butcher paper - complete fail. I am going to try the parchment paper this weekend. You are so easy to understand. Thank you for taking the time to create this.

      I hope this works out for you. I was always hit or miss with butcher paper at the start too. But I quickly found out to never use any type of 'paper' with any type of vinyl. Parchment is the way to go. Best of luck

    A HUMUNGOUS big thank you for this, I have been pulling my hair out trying to print on EasySubli with sublimation paper - Everyone shows you a quick preview of what to do, dont exactly explain times etc and I have had so many blurred images/weak colours or burnt colours and its cost me so much. I just had an idea to get my designs out of DS. When you hit print choose to print to PDF save to computer. Then use a converter program convert PDF to PNG or SVG. I have been trying to get my designs out of DS and into silhouette studios. Silhouette Studio is so much more advanced than DS and silhouette studio business edition you can save files as SVG to your computer and import in into design space and cut with cricut also thank you for this tutorial as well as I'm going to be doing my first easysubli project Much love ❤️

    I'm so glad I've found your video!!! DS is not user friendly at all sometimes and there's so many things you are limited to if you can only use your phone or certain devices! While my laptop has been down I've had to use my phone and you can't print to cut from it in DS so this gives me the option to be able to still cut intricate designs then press my Sublimation image! This is the only thing I'm stumped/questioning. The way you line it up and press sub to htv b4 applying to shirt. How does it not activate it to stick to the parchment paper? Does it make it harder for the htv to stick to the shirt on the final press? I'm so stunned on how much ink transferred over with only 15 secs. I always thought with sublimation color to transfer it had to be super hot and and closer to a minute or more on press time! You def have another new subscriber ❤️

    • @stacyodesigns
      @stacyodesigns  2 года назад

      The parchment paper is kind of like silicone. It just doesn't stick. I have never had an issue with the adhesive being any less from heating it.
      And the ink transfer is from pressing at 385 for 45 seconds. The 15 second press is at HTV temps (315) for 15 seconds.
      Glad you liked it and thank you for subscribing :)

    hello I was just wondering if we mirror the easy subli?

    • @stacyodesigns
      @stacyodesigns  3 года назад +1

      No, do not mirror the subli when you cut it (or print ON it). Mirror the sublimation print, yes. The rough side, which is facing upward when you cut, is the side you sublimate onto. When you peel it off the backing, place it directly onto the garment, smooth side down.

    I'm a little confused. why print from cricut which limits your size when you can print from any other program and just cut the outline in cricut at 8x11?

    • @stacyodesigns
      @stacyodesigns  3 года назад +3

      I do this because Design Space isn't friendly. I have tried to print from Photoshop and cut the subli in DS, and its always off just a little. So, for intricate designs, I do it this way. If I need a big, and solid, cut, I do print through PS and cut in DS.

  • @SilverwolfNight
    @SilverwolfNight 3 года назад +2

    you don't need to flip it over when you sublimate onto the vinyl. It will still work upside down.

  • @kristintufo
    @kristintufo 2 года назад +1

    Do you cut rough or glossy side up and do you cut and print NON MIRRORED IMAGES?

    • @stacyodesigns
      @stacyodesigns  2 года назад

      You cut the rough side, then peel that off of the clear backing. If printing directly to it, do not mirror. Print, cut, peel, press.

  • @EZCustomzz

    Now i wonder if i can do this but slap the print then cut image on the easy subli and heat it up and then cut out the easy subli with the siser Juliet or Cricut machine.. the pizza wheels drive me crazy, no matter what setting

    • @stacyodesigns
      @stacyodesigns  Год назад

      The problem with this, is once you pull the subli away from the plastic sheet, it is no longer sticky. hmmm, maybe if you put it on a sticky htv carrier sheet?
      If you are getting pizza wheels, there is a great group on FB called Beginning Sublimation with epson printers. They have a detailed protocol how to get rid of them. Last I read it, do 3 head cleanings in a row (no nozzle check between). Then do a nozzle check. If still wonky, run a print purge page. Nozzle check.

      paper type: Premium presentation matte
      quality: High
      More options tab: Color correction >Custom> Advanced :
      Color management: color controls
      color mode: Adobe RGB

      And of course don't forget to mirror the image

    • @stacyodesigns

      Technically, the subli has a bit of stretch -but I would not reccomend letting it stretch. If it's difficult to peel, try flipping it over and peeling the carrier sheet away while holding the subli down.

    Very good methond u help me a lot thanks. But when I've done sublimating and put sublimation paper away there was cardboard on the edges of the easy subli. I don't know how to fix this i tried some methods like don't put so much pressure on the press but still not working. Do you have any idea how to prevent this? I would appreciate any advice. I've been trying to work with easy subli for several months now, but it's not that easy and when I find a solution, something always goes wrong.

    • @stacyodesigns
      @stacyodesigns  Год назад

      Do you mean the edges stick? Troubleshooting for that would be less pressure, less heat and change parchment paper. I swear by Reynolds brand. Always stuck when I used cheaper brands.

  • @sharonreynolds
    @sharonreynolds 2 года назад +1

    Great idea and I tried it but my vinyl initially tacked to the parchment paper and then when I flipped it and repressed the design did not stick to the parchment paper it stuck to the sublimation paper instead and it was very hard to peel off. Any idea where I went wrong?

    • @stacyodesigns
      @stacyodesigns  2 года назад +1

      Firstly, I highly suggest Reynolds brand parchment. I tried a few cheaper brands and had inconsistent results. Also, as many heat presses vary in temp, sticking occurs when its too hot. Try out lower times and temps.

      not really. The mask would pick up the pieces from the print side. You would need to peel each part off of the film and lay in on the sub transfer - print side down.

    My easysubli paper is the same way when I try to print directly onto it btw. I get “pizza wheels” and the ink seems to bleed before I can even get it under my heat press to get the ink to dry. I’ve only seen 1 other video where someone printed directly to easysubli and it came out great. I tried those settings and it does the same. May try once more but it’s expensive

      I always printed directly to it with no issues. But then one day the ink bled, like the horror stories I read online. But now I have found subbing to it gives much better results anyway. It is expensive, but the results are worth it. :)

      So, if you want to cricut cut your image, mirror in DS only. (Important to do it in DS so it recognizes that in order to cut properly)
      If you do not plan on cutting your image out, you can mirror in your print settings.

    Hi,
    I would love to try this method but how would I do this with designs that letters or something are not connected. Would I have to peel each letter off and then put on the parchment paper? I would probably never be able to line everything up nicely if that was the case or is there a way to use the mask and this method. I am soooo at a loss right now. Sublimating direct on easysubli gives such a grainy look and not vivid. When I print on sublimation paper and try to line up, it takes me forever and then when I think it's lined up good, I press it and then ruin my shirt because I was off somwhere and have to start everything all over again
