    Thank you so much for this video! I cannot believe how many videos I’ve watched and still couldn’t get the sublimation v. vinyl HTV. My confusion was the sublimation paper onto the garment v. sublimation paper onto the vinyl. The way you explained it as well as showing it at the same time, helped so much! (Yes, I really have to emphasize that). Thank you again.

    You said if one has a Sawgrass printer, they can print straight to vinyl; but I think you meant if we have a Sawgrass that has used subli-jet ink. I have a Sawgrass 1000, but I bought it to do sublimation printing, not subli-jet. I still get confused some about all that and know others do to. I may have not even worded that accurately, but you know what I mean. Thanks.

    Great video ! Quick question when you have to use your epson f570 to print onto sublimation paper and then press onto easy subli htv, how would you use the masking paper to keep a design together that has more than one piece? I am trying to find a way to sublimate on cotton using the epson f570 printer and the easy subli htv when a design has more than one piece (like the one at the end) ? Love this video !

    Hey I really like your video.. I was going to buy a F570 myself.. I was worried not having the ability to print to cotton.. so I really appreciate the illustration.. but here is the question.. is it better to stick with the F570 and use the paper.. or buy a printer that does cotton already.. those heat fx printers can reach up to 8g.. what are your thoughts? Is it worth it for t shirts.. or does the sublimation just make sense.. thank you

    • @JohnsonPlasticsPlus
      @JohnsonPlasticsPlus  2 года назад

      Hello, glad you found the video helpful! Not being able to print to cotton is downfall to sublimation, but it is permanent ink, unlike heat transfer. You can get long lasting results with heat transfer as well though, when using the correct paper and settings. To go more in depth on which printer is best for your needs give us a call and ask to speak with an equipment sales rep at 800-869-7800. They will be able to go over more details with you and guide you to making the right purchase!

    Great video. A few important details are left out that I'd like to know: 1) What settings for substrate and paper etc do you use in Sawgrass Creative Studio since there won't be an Easysubli color profile when using SubliJet ink. 2) Is there something special to do since Easysubli paper is 8.4 x 11 instead of 8.5? 3) How did you cut this in Cricut Maker without using Print Then Cut. Thanks!

    • @JohnsonPlasticsPlus
      @JohnsonPlasticsPlus  3 года назад

      Thank you. Here's how we would go about that. If you want to print directly on EasySubli, select Heat Transfer Vinyl under material (for creative studio) or Substrate (in the print manager). You will need to use Cricut Maker to print the registration marks. So when you go to print through cricut maker select the Sawgrass Print manager to print it out then you can cut it on the cricut. When you select the vinyl material the only paper that will come up will be 2 vinyl options, HTV or glitter.

      I did this and could never match it up as i HATE boring solid shapes and like intricate delicate thin cuts so it never lined up also if its 100% cotton the temperature and time always no matter what brand or type of clothing if it was 100% cotton it ALWAYS SCORCHED it would turn a permanent yellowing on the fabric due to the high heat for way too long. Less time and it barely shows up. This is white cotton plus my heat press is calibrated and i have a heat check device and its down by -5 degrees celsius not even above so once again cotton misses out.

    • @JohnsonPlasticsPlus

      Hello, Berlinda! Although it may be more difficult, you could hold your easy press over the design to allow it to dry. It does help to allow as much dry time as possible so the ink doesn't smear.

    • @JohnsonPlasticsPlus
      @JohnsonPlasticsPlus  3 года назад

      The transfer feels a bit like a heavy screen print once transferred, but does have a good amount of flexibility and bend to it. You can machine wash shirts with the transfers (inside out) and tumble dry, but it's recommended you wait 24 hours after you transfer before first wash. That allows the transfer to fully cure. You can find further tech tips for EasySubli under the "downloads" section of the product page here:

    Transferring to the easysubli vinyl once on cotton is an awful idea because the temperature is so hot it scorches 100% cotton. I have tried 9 different brands of cotton onsies and they all turn permanent yellow if heat pressed above 175 degrees celsius. My machine has been tested and calibrated so its not my heat press. Plus there are no difference in brands of cotton onesies here in Australia and i am not purchasing overseas due to ridiculous covid delays and unreliability.

    • @Moneybags8989
      @Moneybags8989 2 года назад

      I mean if not printed directly to easysubli, plus you cant do intricate delicate cuts designs where you want spaces for shirt or fabric to come through and then heat the colour on top it never lines up and burns the fabric
