You've heard of The Lone Ranger, now meet The Space Ranger! Follow the adventures of Rocky Jones and crew as they cruise the galaxy in their Orbit Jet X-V2 and defend Earth against space-bound evil doers! - Кино
I can't stop watching these, I don't know what's wrong with me!
Ha! I was born in 54 and never knew of this. Thanks!!!
I love the top hats on the space ambassadors as they climb into the rocket
Gotta smile while watching these. While I took every sci-fi show movie, book, comic etc. very serious 50 years ago, today I jus smile. As they boldly' looked at the future, they did so without violating the stereo typing of the day.
I enjoy comparing this to Star Trek original series which arrived about 10 years later...then the subsequent series episodes. 😁🍻
Just love seeing how many space people were in westerns in the 40's and who would appear against Sgt Preston, Lone Ranger, and Superman in the 50's.
Oh,and thanks for posting these. They are great fun
Vina. with her mini skirt , Cape , and ankle high boots. Clothes for space travel.
Cute Zina with her cape and “cross your heart” tunic.
Vena
It is very interesting to see how the film industry of those times saw space travel and all that it involved.
I use to watch this as a kid on our b&w tv
I remember this story from the Saturday Matinee, Regal Cinema, Rochdale England 1961, the name etched in my memory. Cleolanta made an impression too!
I like how the ambassodors have top hats on and formal suits.
Rocky, Winky , Bobby, Vena, the originals before Kirk , Spock & Mc Coy.
Thanks for posting.
Fun movies to watch. Thanks for sharing.
This was a TV series of the 50's.
Thanks PizzaFlix, you're the greatest. Those top hats being worn got a laugh out of me. It's a wonder their radios work...I don't see any Hallicrafters gear.
" it's to be done my way, or the free way!" Cleolantra .
Thanks for the share! It seems to me she is always saying "Ampersand," not Atlasande. LOL
Dig the teletype for printing out messages! Hip hi tech for the 1950s..... I guess smoke signals were passe.
Okay zoomer.
These should be the Space Force uniforms.
When I was a Little Boy, I had a hot Crush on Rocky.
Sally Mansfield looked pretty good for being 34 when this was filmed.Looks 15 years younger.
@Tumbleweed You're absolutely right! ...Rude AF, but right. ;-]
Speaking like a moron about her lipstick being more important than oxygen is what is supposed to make us think she's young... Nope, just makes her an idiot. I hate how even supposedly smart women were portrayed back then.
Actually she was 30 or almost 31.
The car that is driven as a "futuristic car" is actually a Kaiser-Darrin sports car from 1954. This was similar to the use of the new Ford Taurus in the Robocop movies, except that the rarity of the Kaiser model makes the fact less obvious.
George Williams And it looks like early year Corvettes. The first Corvettes came out in 1953, it makes you wonder if the early designers of the Vette. Had this car as a inspiration?
incorrect
There's Scotty Beckett of Little Rascals Fame soon to be plucked away far too young.
Rocky Jones Space Ranger.was a TV series of the 50's.
I swear that space station is a lawn sprinkler.
Tractor-beam, United Worlds, your seeing the TOS Star Trek's influences.
Trek was more closely styled on the protagonists in the movie, "Forbidden Planet" (1956), but those broad themes of unity are most likely extrapolated from the relatively recent founding of the United Nations in 1945.
I was only 5 when this aired. Guess I just wasn't sophisticated enough to appreciate it.
"I thought I blacked out into youthful consciousness!" Did I hear that right?
Sorry. The car is not a Darren. The split grill gives it away. A 1953-1956 Grantham Star Dust.(based on modified Ford). But this car is so obscure( only a few were made)it could easily be mistaken as a Darren. The car shows up in a couple episodes. There is also a Nash-Healey that pops up once.
Jeff King yeah found this www.undiscoveredclassics.com/movie-tv-appearances-now-then/grantham-stardust-tv-rocky-jones-space-ranger/ cool car!
capes will make a comeback. Get a lot of notice in the 7-11
Little Bobby was gearing up for Vietnam
Oh yeah....
Clio Lana definitely had the hots for Rocky
I got the hots for Clio.
Space Cape-works for her, not for Mr. Sulu.
In color, Vena's out fit is yellow with red trim , red cape and red boots. The backside of the cape is yellow.
Why the space cape ?.
The dead end of the galaxy: the space station duty.
Garden sprinkler for a space station.
Rocky and Winky?
Where's Prof. Newton?
So many old science fiction films to see need two lifetimes I have seen all the NASA ones but prefer the old ones more realistic
Is this before star fleet command.
scott loiacono over 10 years before Star Trek now we know where trek got the tractor beam from 🖖
These "movies" were Serials.
Got an Episode a week, along with Newsreels, Cartoons, and Coming Attractions - often with a Double Feature - at the Saturday Matinees.
Rocky Jones Space Ranger was a TV series of the 50's.
Is Rocky really a dead name? Say it aint so.
Cleolanta is hot.
@Tumbleweed That's what makes her so so sexy. Ice Hot!
@Tumbleweed Fire and ice in one body.
Why not in the script just give her a NAIL file 🌽😂🇬🇧
Star Trek obviously got a lot of its ideas from Rocky Jones.
34:28 😏
I'm sorry. Sally Mansfield as Vena Ray is cute and all but Patsy Parson's Cleolanta is delightfully wicked. And she definitely does have that 'X-factor' when it comes to looks. Not gorgeous in the same vain as her contemporaries Jayne Mansfield or Mamie Van Doren, but there is that certain something about her.
On an unrelated note; Rocky and Winky must get an award for being the most gullible heroes ever. Harry Lauter (Atlasan) and his fellow Ophesians hoodwinked our heroes with ease and alacrity. They deserved to win and not end up in a Star Trek style 'Arena' fight to the death---which I guess Atlasan must have won since he appears again in the series' signature chapter, 'Crash of the Moons'.
There is no 'the' in Crash of Moons.
Brain... starting...to hurt... can't... stand...the... exceedingly ...stupid dialog and ...plot of this film!
