A Day Of Boating In St. Augustine With My Son Jarrett In The Carolina Skiff 162 JLS

I took my son Jarrett out for a day of boating. In the past Jarrett has only been able to ride in the boat for 5 or 10 minutes before needing to go in. Today he insisted we stay out. We rode for hours. He was smiling and laughing all day. He says next time he wants to try and fish. We had a blast. I can't begin to tell anyone how much happiness this day brought me.

This just made my day as well. Jarrett is such an amazing kid. He has always found a way to make me smile. Tell my buddy I said hello and we will do a cookout soon.

I knew I liked you but now that I know that you have a son with special needs, I like you even more. My son has special needs and fishing is our way to have common experiences which create great memories. When we can't fish together, we watch your show together and recall those great memories together. Keep up the good work of sending fishing videos and being a great dad.

Boating and fishing is so much more satisfying when you have someone to share the experience. My twin brother and I spent countless days fishing together over the years in Daytona Beach. Things have changed now and we each have other priorities but I'm hoping one day we can resume where we left off!

I know it is not a fishing video and not everyone will get it or understand what made this such a special day but it was a huge day for us. I could never have imagined the day would work out for us like it did. He has made such great strides. He wants me to bring fishing rods on our next trip. I am so proud of him. I wanted all his friends, family, teachers and therapists to see how amazing a day he had.

A video like this is more special than a regular fishing video to me. I have a similar situation with a family member. I would love to share with them the joy I get from being out in the water, but it’s not logistically possible with their needs. So I definitely appreciated getting to watch you both have an amazing time. Extremely happy for you both!
