It's pretty crazy that nearly 10 years later, I'm doing a new video on MOTU Classics He-Man. And yet, it's even crazier that this figure still holds up and looks great! This was a fun video to make! Thanks for watching, and please let me know in the comments if you have the same ankle problems as I do.

The ankles on mine were a little loose as well, though not as loose as the ones on yours seem to be. Also, I was upset that most of the swords were bent in the package, and so far I haven't been able to get them to straighten out perfectly. Lastly, the harness had an issue where the left side on the back kept coming loose, so unfortunately I had to fix that with a little glue. Nothing that really bothered me TOO much though.

I haven't noticed the that the head sits higher on mine, but I slapped the Alcala head on him and never looked back, so it's possible that the longer hair makes it less noticeable.
My figure's ankles are a LITTLE loose, which is disappointing considering that tight ankles were one of my main wants for this figure, as my old figures are always falling down, but that being said, mine are nowhere as loose as yours are.
Pixel Dan is like that best friend from your childhood that you played He-man with.
I don't understand why they always make so few of these figures? The popular characters start out expensive and still always sell out right away. Most of us are left having to pay absurd ebay prices for them.

I hope they re-release that first wave since they were a success. There was barely a 2-week window where these were up for pre-sale.

Wow, can't believe the ankle thing came back! I only bought Faker, but his ankle joints were super tight.
The original he-man head was epic. I remember even at 4 thinking, he doesn’t look like the cartoon but I like it better.

Growing up during the 80s I never had the chance to own a He-Man figure. Nice to see that being nearly 40 I'll soon be owning one though! Lol

Great figure! I have the Mattel MOTU/DC Universe Classics 2-Pack He-Man & Skelator. I would love to get ahold of this figure, primarily because I would like to have the head sculpt that looks like the classic toy head. I really enjoy your reviews, very informative and fun to watch. I am hoping that with the rumors of the He-Man movie coming out in late 2019 that toys will be released to stores like Target, Walmart, etc...

Yep, super happy I got a set because I got in about 90% of the way through the Mattycollector run (RIP Thundercats) and am glad to have an original He-Man and Skeletor without having to give a kidney for.
Great review, this he man figure looks like a good figure to add to my collection, I like the vintage cardback.
You're so lucky! Everone's else who got the Ultimate He-Man shipped to them came in near meant perfection. Both the He-Mans i ordered had lopsided hair on BOTH the vintage style heads. Of course i only open one of them. I had to really work the hair off and re-glue it. Sucky thing is... i used fast drying locktight instead of gel control. So now there is a small spacing on the both sides of the head. So no snug perfection, despite it being straight.
Happy to hear Super 7 is switching factory's to make the motuc. Hopefully defective figures will be at a low the next time.
But on a positive note! Glad to finally see you doing another motuc toy review. Its what got my fixed on this channel.
I’m hoping super seven releases another classic he man the eBay prices are just way too expensive
I can go for the 2008 classics at an affordable price but i want this one so i can have the original mini style comic head on it. I agree it’s 300 to 400 dollars just for this one figure it’s insane.
The one thing I would do is to buy two of this figure. one to keep in the box and the other to open.
Dan, this is an excellent review. Feels like we are beginning a new era for MOTU figures. Just a great thing to watch in the morning. That Ultimate He-Man looks great, but I would have liked it if they had included the Laser Power head, the one that looks like Dolph Lundgren. I mean, it's called "Ultimate He-Man", so in my opinion they should have gone that one extra mile. But it looks great. Too bad I only got Teela and Ram Man. Thanks for the great review, Dan! Be well!

Anyone know why these don't include the Filmation cartoon style heads? Or if we'll get those later?
Since there still a problem with the loose ankles carrying forward from Mattel to Super 7, will you be able to do a tutorial Pixal Dan style in fixing most of our MOTU figure's ankles? It really feels like at least 35-45% of the figures suffer this dilemma. Please help you are our MOTU expert. Thank you for the reviews, you are fantastic sir!

I have the loose ankles as well which really depressed me. When I heard ULTIMATE I figured the previous problems like loose ankles would be gone. Now I'm doctoring up the ankles just so he can stand.

I dig the look of him, overall... But, the head looks like it sits just a smidge too high on the neck to me, for some reason. I was only ever able to nab He-Man, Skeletor and Mer-Man via the DCUC vs MOTU Classics two packs. I'd love to get my hands on more of them, especially Shadow Weaver -- my most sought after figure. But alas, I've just never had the funds for the subscription service.
The heads do feel like they sit a tad higher on this release. Not enough to really bother me, but I see it for sure.

Definitely want Teela - was always fascinated with the cobra armor and why it was never worn in the Filmation show.
So glad I decided to start collecting this line with these Ultimate figures. Fingers crossed that Super 7 continues with the Ultimates as well as their other Masters of the Universe products.
Great video. I don't collect heman. I'm more of a g1 transformers fan but seeing this makes me want to start collecting more because I manage to pick up a man at arms original figure in the package a few years ago. The heman figure is so well done.🖒you definitely have a new subscriber.
The right ankle on my figure was just as loose as yours, the left was relatively ok.
Damn. I'm seeing a lot of folks say theirs is tight, so I was hoping mine was a one-off QC issue. Sorry man!
That's the ONLY issue I had though, so ultimately (no pun intended) I can live with it. Hopefully its not more widespread.

This has to be the best He-man figure I have ever seen. I thought that figure went to Revelations and Revolutions figures, but no. This has to be it! Everything I've been looking for. The different head sculpts and all accessories sword, shield, battle axe, all well sculpted and painted. And the knees and joints well made ( mind you of course, minor problem with the loose ankles Company has to tighten them manufacturer defect) But this is the figure every collector should have! If they collect Masters of the Universe figures.

Can you compare this one to the filmation 2.0 and will their heads swap???
My Origins He-Man has a pretty weak right knee joint, as does my Origins Man-At-Arms. They really need to pay attention to those details, as well as the hand grips!

Just when I thought I was done collecting MOTUC they pull me in again. Seriously, this is a great figure and I love the improvements made in the paint apps. Thanks again for another great He-Man review!
I'm glad they reissued this because at the time I wasn't collecting so I missed out and by the time I start collecting it was too high of a price to get. I'm really waiting on She Ra hopefully they will be able to make her.
the paint apps are hit or miss with this line. Your He-Man has red paint on the harness. Also my Teela had black paint on her face that I had to remove with acetone and then I had to repaint her eye makeup to cover up what I could remove.
Question: In your opinion, are the Ultimate figures worth the $50 BBTS is charging for them? I missed out on the pre-order and would like to at least pick up He-Man and Skeletor.

I think it's worth it for the harder to get figures, like Teela, for sure. That's a $15 mark up on them, so ultimately I think it's up to the individual to decide if they want to spend that money. Might be ok for picking your favorites. They are really nice figures, but that obviously adds up quick.
I noticed the Super7 He-Man has a rectangle around his bellybutton! Ha! Still like the Mattel version more!
Got the entire wave. And it's great! Unfortunately, I didn't pre-order the Club Eternia Wave, which I really want & I'm afraid I won't be able to get ahold of them separately, like I thought they would. :(

Sucks about the ankles (again), but what really stood out to me was how wrong/misproportioned his vintage-style head looks on the body. Seems a hair smaller and when connected to the figure, his neck looks too long. I have Ooh Lar and put the 'original toy sculpt on him, much the same problem. And I honestly don't like the mustard & dirt hair coloring on any. Cheers bro!
I like the hair coloring better on the old ones. The hair on mine almost looks brown. The left foot on mine is a little loose, but not as bad as yours. As always; great review.
I honestly think the first release was the best , even the face of these doesn’t compare to the first one, it has blue eyes and better hair color and overall better look
Hey Dan, just wanted to say the ankles on my He-Man were fine but my Faker has loose ankles though not as loose as your He-Man figure. I personally had issues with the swords being crooked but they were fixed with hot water. Can't wait to hear what you think of the other ultimates Ram Man blew me away.

Damn, only for pre orders? I waited because the last I collected was the 2002 line.I thought now it's a good start with the classics. But I have to buy them for a stupidly high price on eBay
Yeah, unfortunately the quantity made is small on these, so they do them "made to order." So however many pre-orders they get, that's what they produce.
I can understand that, just sad for me personally.
But I want to have at least these 5. After all, I'm a huge fan.
Im from Austria, so it is always a bit more expensive and complicated ;)

It's just a ponzy scheme to ripoff the fans. I will never buy anything from this company, they really know how to play the fans for the money.
Was a bout to comment that: it is a shame that in 2017 we still have the same problem with getting those figures as we had back in 2009, with those subcriptions and such.

What’s the difference between Mattel and super 7 . Which ones are better ? Plus why are Mattel figures so expensive and the super 7 ones aren’t .
Mattel came first, super 7 is newer licence. So basically because they been out longer. With toys, the longer it had been out, the higher the price if it is a seeked you.
Are the next waves coming in resealable packaging?
Got this figure today for an insanely high price. Both the ankles are loose to the point that he-man can barely stand. I noticed that even the plastic quality on the figure is inferior compared to the very poorly received flying fist he-man which happens to be the only other he-man in my collection.
I wonder if you can do the 'I have the power' pose with this He-Man

I really regret that I couldn't afford this line back then. Fortunately I don't have that problem with the Super7 TMNT and GI Joe lines, but what are the odds Super7 reissues the MOTU line?

Both ankles on mine are just as loose, if not a little worse. I've seen a large number of people mention it as well so it seems universal. :(

eBay, FB Marketplace, Mercuri etc and other local online listings.. completed prices usually at least $100 and up, depends on condition like everything else..
personally I felt I was 'priced out' from owning these, a bit regrets on pre-ordering these way back in 2016/2017(?), which listed for $49.99 I believe (super $ for me at that time as well lol)
