How much does a subscription cost and what are the pros and cons of getting one.
I want to start collecting motu figures. But I do not know where to start. I like the classics and the filmation one's. I also have the mondo heman on pre-order. But I really like the classic figures from 2008. Please help me begin by telling me how to go about collecting. Also what can you say about the Mattel 12 inch motu line. I saw it on one your videos

I just found out about this. 😪 I haven’t paid attention to toys for most of my adult life until the pandemic hit and I started collecting WFC Transformers and later MOTU origins. Which I’m excited to do so. Sorry I missed those. Well, nothing we can do. Just look forward in time.

Surprised Dan didn't mention that the sword doesn't even fit in the sheath all the way. It kind of sticks out and isn't cartoon accurate. Also, I have to disagree with Dan that the sword itself is still not Filmation accurate and has that distracting china logo and mold release circle part on the blade.
I think Matty Collector should lower the price on these to only $15.00 each figure for this line. They give just a few accessories and gone is the great detail and paint job that the classic line had. Granted the new line will be based on the filmation series, so happy that you fans get to collect them. The ankles are pretty bad, but thanks Pixel Dan for the review. I await your review on the new ThunderCats figures. Please keep up the great work.

I loved He man when I was a kid. I'm ten now. I still love him and I have three figures of he man.

I think the face on this looks better than the super 7 version. But the feet on this one is ugly. However, the face and the hair on this one looks much better than the super7 and more accurate to the original heman cartoon that we loved. So I think this one is the official heman we must buy for some nostalgy, I would draw pictures of this one..

Isn't his upper chest not as wide as the old buck, you can actually have his arms down by his side. Also his lower leg is to thin looking.
Awesome, Man! If I had the dough to have all these figures, I would totally love the ankle articulation to pose my figures. The lose fitting sword also allows for more poses as well. One thing I wanted to remind you of that I thought was really neat about the original figures; He-Man's sword and Skeletor's sword use to fit togethert to form one.

It's not just his face that's diff. This filmation heman body is lot more aesthetic than the heman classics whose body is shorter and blockier.
Not sure what was wrong with the old ankles? Wish they had made a proper Filmation power sword for the figure.

i can't help but notice that the "Snake Armor" He-Man isn't really wearing much armor. I mean, if I were "He" battling swarms of snakes I'd prefer to not leave the left half of my torso fully exposed.
The boots are suppose to be RED not Brown if you're actually basing it off the cartoon from 1983 . The orginal figure from the 80s look more like the cartoon than this does basing off the face structure although this figure is pretty nice but no matter what new figures are released will never compare to the orginal figures
So this sword is the same one that came with Flogg, but unpainted.
30-something years later and they still haven't got the sword grip right! haha other than that this thing is pretty amazeballs.
As a kid I was always bummed that the figures didn't quite look like the cartoon -or like they did on the back of the cards for that matter. Mattel has actually come through with both.

+pious83 i honestly dont see this line going very far. with so many Classics drawing a lot from filmation already, id say only a handful really need the update. maybe Mattel would be able to squeeze a year of 200x varients, but not much more than thet if they go for it
Grimmy's .Reviews I'm only waiting for one figure at this point, A new version of Disks of Doom Skeletor from New Adventures. I am very skeptical we will see anymore of the vehicles/playsets beyond Snake Mountain. I doubt the ultra rare Eternia set will be updated, let alone the New Adventures ships and vehicles.
Personally I'm looking forward more to the Thundercats line now myself.

It's a beautiful toy, but I really wish it were available from retail... it's unfortunate for people like me who can't afford the subscription price, and so are forced to go to eBay (where prices per figure are usually doubled anyway). Even so, I've definitely gotta get this figure - it's absolutely magnificent!

it shouldnt be to hard..expensive though..the heman is already like 100 bucks i think..on the mattycollector website though they had a contest to win one..it might still be up to enter..they might start a new subscription too maybe..i got lucky a friend of mine helped me get a subscription..fingers crossed for u to get one..just keep looking

How does the filmation sword that came with Flogg look with this He-man? great review Dan. I used a hairdryer to mold right hand so he can hold his sword better.

Awesome review Dan!!! I stopped collecting Masters of the universe figures a while ago simply because I didn't have the money or the room. However these look fantastic. In my opinion this is the best looking He Man we've ever gotten. I will be picking and choosing from this line and paying scalper prices. I don't mind to get the ones I want. Thanks for the review and keep up the great work.

4:05 you could pinch the thinner edge of that plastic tie together and poke it through the hole...then if you wanted to, you could put him back in with the ties still.

All He-Mans have been white but the Filmation He-Man was more brownish.

Hey Pixel Dan or anybody else out there, I was just wondering if this Filmation line will have characters like Batros and Vultak since they were already released in the MOTU Classics line or will I have to go back through MOTU Classics and buy all the Filmation characters to go along with the new Filmation line. No body seems to be able to give me an answer and I've tried some fan forums and have not gotten a response.

I have to say that I love it too. I have the same complaints about it as you do though. They could have easily hidden the ankle joints better. I've seen other Mattel toys that do it just fine. Seems to me like it was probably due to a rush to get it on the market maybe. Also the power sword bothers me a little. That "China" tempo and the weird out of place circle on one side detracts from it being something more. Also, if they were really going for an accurate Filmation look, the sword should have been slightly longer, a bit more slender, and fit in the sheath better. In the cartoon, all you can really see is the handle sticking out of it. Not the whole guard. Still, this is a figure I've wished for them to make since childhood. Sometimes less is more, and in this case it really shows.
Glad I bought 2 subs and paid $20 for him instead of $60-$75 on eBay. My first sub ever. I paid a lot of money to have the extensive classics collection I have now. Good review.
