I loved the gold class. I was lucky to find some at a knock off goodwill store here and they were selling the bottles for 5$ a bottle. I got all 10 they had lol
Gold Glass is hands down the best value for money! I pick it as my winner because obviously the value for the money and it foams more than good enough! Adam's Mega Foam 16 Oz= $15 Meguiars Gold Glass 64 Oz= $12
The Gold Glass feels the smoothest when I do my contact wash after foaming it, like it lubricates the best and it also leaves the paint looking shinier as well. It by far does a better job than the Mr. Pink and the Mega foam at cleaning as well and *you can't beat it for the price. Just thought I'd share. 🤙🏽🤘🏽
I regretted buying a small bottle of Blue Coral. It's so bad that it doesn't even foam up in the cannon. Learned a lesson: if it ain't broke, don't change it. Will buy another bottle of Meguiars next time. Just detailed my car last night with a rare tub of #16 Mirror Glaze. That stuff is hard as concrete when applied. Perfect for brutal Texas weather.
i used to mix a little bit of the spot free car wash stuff in with other soap when washing my car in the summer because the water would dry so quick. actually helped a lot. i didn't have a shady spot to do it back then.
When I first started washing personal cars I used blue coral cuz it was cheap. I used to run it about 50/50 in my cheap foam cannon. I switched to gold class and really cut down on how much I use and I feel it clings wayyyy better
So nice to be able to know the real scoop on a product before you spend the money!! Great comparison videos! Very interesting to see which one comes out on top🙂
I use that MAX POWER on dirty vehicles. Man they do a great job! I use 200-300ML in a foam cannon with my 1.1mm orifice. It’s weird yours was runny. Mine was giving that thick foam!
You make the best reviews. I've been doing research the past 24 hours for an at-home-diy set up and once I found your channel, I've been able to adjust my shopping list for the better! Keep it up!!!
Great video. I’m so glad you did the rainx at the end with the 1.1 orifice. I’d love to see all the cheap products done with the 1.1 also. I just bought the 1.1 for my foam cannon because of your videos. Thanks man 💪 great videos
I really like the idea of this test and the thought that went into this test. One issue I have with the test is the application method. Some of the soaps the gun has been primed and there are no air bubbles in the line. Other soaps there are a ton of bubbles in the line and that's all that is heard. The windows or in some cases the windows and the panels receive missed parts due to the amount of air bubbles. Having the line/soap cannon primed prior to spraying would have made this a much more solid test.
IMO you should try testing the various soaps based on the price. What I mean by that is Adams is $0.48/oz and you use 2 ounces for $0.96/ foam canister load. So lets pretend its the most expensive. So now use whatever volume of all the various soaps at a concentration that equals using $0.96 of that product. To me that is the correct and equal way to compare. In some of those cheap products like the walmart one you could be using what 8-10+ oz. So is Adams Mega Foam really the best based on cost per cannon container load. Hope this makes sense. My bet is one of the biggest differences is how much dilution is in the base product of the foaming agents etc. My guess is if you find the cheapest product that is thick and then use it based on the cost of the most expensive/ounce it will be the thickest. I have some experience in soap making and know what chemicals and compounds can create thick dense and then bubble airy sudsy foam. Find the thickest stuff at the discount or mass bulk stores walmart costco sams and that maybe a winner. But the main point is they should all be used at the same cost amount tonactually see which one is the best.
Good call on the hard water warning: we have extremely hard water here in the Coachella Valley. Drying quickly and washing only in the early morning or evening is key.
I use Gold Class and will be looking at Mr Pink Thx 4 the info Enjoy ur insight Just got the engine cleaner gun Looking forward to use Plus ur favorite spray wax Just ordered day
@IAMJOSHV I also think this is goign to be my soap after seeing all these. I'm wondering how you feel it works vs the Mr Pink for the paint and the car. Would you switch based on teh 1/4 the cost, I'd imagine for a pro that's a lot of savings!
By the way, good job on your videos, down to earth, transparent, informative, I know how hard it is doing these videos, I respect your work and follow you. You have inspired me on some stuff. Props , keep up the good work.
Great Vid, thanks man! it's seems that a good 1.1mm foam gun is much more important than the soap itself. With your 1.1mm gun all soaps looked great, even those who looked really bad on the other foam gun
I've got a half full bottle of Meguiars Gold Class (that I still use today, occasionally) that I've been using for literally 10+ years. (I usually take my cars to a detail shop rather than washing them myself)
Adams Mega Foam is easily the best soap in this review. Expensive but the others don't come close. If you are budget conscious I like the honey dew CG. But for my money, Adam's Mega Foam wins by a mile!
Great videos. You may want to get the air out of the system on each test next time. It really doesn't foam well until the air is out of the system. You can see this on the bottom panel every time.
Great work Josh. Finally a real world comparison. Mega foam in Australia costs $AUD130/gallon which is just over $AUD1.00 per ounce. I have access to Koch Chemie at a good price so would love you to add their Gsf. Thanks. Lloyd
I enjoy all of your reviews. That was very informative and the part 1 as well. When you do this kind of product review, if you can specifically mention which product is suitable for ceramic coated vehicle and which are not, that would be very helpful.
Hi thanks for the kind words! Any soap that is labeled ph neutral will be fine on ceramic coated vehicles! The neutral ph won’t don’t any harm to the coating! There are also a few ceramic infused soaps that would be a good choice for that. The ceramic part of them is questionable but they should be safe on a coated car!
Thank you very much. Your response popped up very quickly when I was watching pH testing of car soap from Obsessed garage. By the way, do i have to worry about presence of wax in the soap? @@imjoshv
@@mesbahahmed8855 It wont hurt it. However any wax that is left behind will be sitting on top of the ceramic coating. So water and dirt will be reacting to the wax. Thats totally fine, just a heads up in case you see the water acting different on the surface. Once it breaks down youll be left with just the ceramic again!
The Rainx is so reasonably priced it's hard to justify buying any of the others. I'm curious to see how well it cleans compared to the more expensive options
for price/performance (foam thickness i mean) i'll take the Rain X High Foaming, and it's still cheaper than Black Magic Wet Shine! thank you for the test. anyway, if you don't mind, can you do quick test using 4 ounce of Rain X High Foaming on 1.25/1.1mm orifice? curious how thick it will be. PS: sorry for my messy english
I have been watching a ton of your videos and others. I like the videos alot. I wonder why everyone test to see which soap foams the thickest but not which soap actually cleans the best? That would be a great video!
Hey bob foaming is a big question from people and easier to test. I agree about the test of which works best would be a great video and I’ve been trying to think of how to properly test that. You can’t just tape off a section of a good like when testing other products because of the water… if you have any ideas on that let me know and I’d be happy to make the video
@@imjoshv maybe a vertical frame that slides into a receiver hitch 4ft wide by 2ft tall that you can mount 1ft x 1ft painted panels onto and then they would be exposed to real world abuse and then you would have individual panels for each soap tested? When one sprays a tailgate with a iron remover we see just how much contamination is deposited in that location. As for how to determine the cleaning ability maybe the use of a tilt slide test, gloss meter etc....? Just food for thought off the top of my head
I know I'm late to the party but you could take a 4, hard, door jeep Wrangler and take it mudding. Then you can remove each individual door and try each of the product. The doors are super easy to remove. Thanks for the awesome videos. Just subscribed
I have just had my new car PPF wrapped and had a ceramic coat applied on top. l am now curious as to what soaps l should be using , l have a foam cannon and gun and have a few gallons of Meguirs Gold Class. Is the Mcguires going to be ok to use on this combination of protection layers? I have always used the Gold and really like it but just wanted to make certain this product would be safe to use..Great Videos BTW...
They cool video thank does it matter how thick foam is for cleaning ? I would think if you rinse foam rinse agian you would get alot dirt off. My other question is have you used bilt hamber car wash or car pro reset should you use them regularly or use once every few washes ? And just use ph netural between
The turtle wax brand states on the back of the bottle to achieve best foaming capabilities with a cannon to use it at full strength. I use this method as a strip wash and it works fantastic lol. For as cheap as it is, it works better(for me) than some higher costing soaps. Would I use this method on a coated car? Absolutely not😂
Awesome videos. Thanks for all the great info. I love using Mr. Pink because of the price and the smell. Been wanting to try the Adams but the price is holding me back.
Hey Josh, Idea for another test... Can you take your top 4 soaps and try another test as follows. Tape off with masking tape or painters tape 4 large sections of your van, put mud and every other dirt/crap you normally find on a cars and trucks, then use each soap foam and see which one dissolves the most dirt/crap without scrubbing? It's one thing which soap foams the best but another which one dissolves the most dirt without scrubbing. Thanks...
Yea I’ve been trying to think of the best way to test the actual cleaning performance. I like your idea but it could be hard to keep the foam/soap only on the section it’s supposed to be on… ideally I would have multiple cars
@@imjoshv - Great, I'm sure you'll figure out something. Look forward to seeing results on how well each breaks down dirt and crime without scrubbing... Thanks.
Can you please review a product like the Ethos Ceramic Car Shampoo? I just bought it. Very interested to see what your opinion is. It's supposed to wash and apply ceramic coating. And is supposed to be for both Ceramic coated cars, to extend the ceramic coating and cover any spots that may be wearing, and also for cars that aren't ceramic coated and protect those as well.
So i see which one foams the best but which one in your opinion actually takes off the grime better. Keep in mind i live on a dirt road so my truck is always a little bit muddy.
Also.... I just bought the Dewalt 3600 psi pressure washer and i don't know how that thing works. Maybe you can do a review on that so I know how that thing works... lol.. !! Thanks homeboy !!!
So quick question or more of an observation just because it's thick foaming or high foaming doesn't necessarily mean it's the best soap or works the best when it comes to actually cleaning car does it?
Great test man! However I feel like doing this again but how the manufacture recommended it for dilution ratios would be the most accurate test for foam to value.
Does foam thickness mean it's not lifting dirt off the paint? The bottom two on your list I have doubts about but the rest appear to stay on the paint long enough to get dirt off unless you have a really dirty surface. Any thoughts?
@@kaiserwillie67 if your foam is really runny instead of thick it will not only fall off quicker but it’ll risk the remaining soap to dry on the paint in the heat. If it’s thicker it’ll help stay on a little longer so you can get to that section before it drys. My case scenario.
Ok I get what your saying. I don't like the real runny ones but so far i have not gotten shaving foam suds yet. I have Turtle Wax Ice and Armour All Snow Foam washes. I'm new to foam cannons and all and just want my 2016 Yukon's paint to last. I used to go to car washes until I noticed paint wasn't really clean.
Nope. This is the only way to determine which is most cost effective soap for foaming. His method is the best to determine which foams the most per once not which foams the best per manufactures recommendation.
@@mutatedgenome thanks! I understand testing them the manufacturer recommended way but I felt that using the exact same amount is the most fair. If one says to use 2 oz and another says to use 1 part soap 5 parts water (which would be way more that 2oz) then I would expect the one with more product to foam more. By testing them this way we get a direct comparison.
Keep it going especially with pressure washers like review for average working class citizen .I’m new to pressure washing and starting out from your reviews I like craftsman 1600, ryobi 1600 ,active one I definitely don’t have a OG budget kranzel and mtm
It states on the bottle of max power do not delute if using in a foam cannon. I just bought some for $7 at Walmart. Following the directions on the bottle it honestly foams really well. As good as max shine mega foam. It just takes off any wax in the process lmao
I was thinking about that as well. I bet people are focusing on the wrong thing. It’s cool to see the think foam, but who says that it is actually breaking down the contaminates? That is a much harder thing to test for. Outside the scope of most youtubers
Really enjoyed this series. I'm in camp Gold Class myself, but have been wanting to try some of these other soaps that you've tested out. I may try one of the Chemical Guys next.
not trying to be a smart azz here, but just a thought about the spot free??? foam rain x. many times in order to achieve "spot free" (no drying???) the approach might be adding a surfactant. example in clinical lab we use a surfactant called tween 80. I think the short version of what it does is remove or diminish the surface tension of the water drops so it sheets off and does not form drop so "you don't have to dry it???". this to me might account for it not being foamy and sliding off (runny), that said it might still act well as a soap ( zwitterion ) fancy name for soap having positive and negative charge to bind dirt and stuff to water to make it work to make it clean. so my point is maybe the spot free might work well enough (runny foam not with standing) and make the water sheet off on rinsing so drying (which I always do too) is easier. I foam up then use a long handle soft brush and rinse, I also use the cheap stuff like regular rainx but I am just homeowner (not professional) car washer for my own cars. great vid. thx.
So, with the same Ryobi pressure washer, the AstroAI foam cannon (which comes with the 1.0mm orifice) wouldn’t better foam get generated? Have you ever tested the AstroA1 foam cannon with the Ryobi?
I bet all your neighbors have their houses up for sale because of the pressure washer noise . Lol, if I tried this at nighttime at my house 911 would be called for every bottle of soap I tested!! Do your neighbors ever complain lol?😁 Great Videos btw your my go too!👍
Nice! I've been watching all you vids and have bought the MJJC Cannon and the Armor All Cannon. Plus the Adams Mega Foam and the Meguiars Gold Class. Plus all kind of other products you've tested and recommended like the Flexilla hoses, quick connects, pressure wand and harbor freight washer ($60). So thanks for all your hard work! Today was my first time using it, I has a little leak at the Pressure hose connection point to the pressure washer so I need to check that. But my questions was on how to properly mix the Meguiars soap. If I put 6 oz of soap, how much water am I adding? Should I use warm water? and should I add the soap after the water? (When I did it today I had the soap in first and then when I added the water it just bubbled up! Thanks!
who knows, maybe some of those will foam up even better using 3 or 4 ounces and hot hot water. to me it would be worth it if it's the cheaper ones. Also if you spray that nice thick foam more than one layer, it will make it run down the sides more. Maybe wait a few minutes and then spray again to get extra time for it to work.
Okay these tests are cool and they're showing me a lot but, which is the best soap, like which is the best detergent that will actually cut through grime
Have u ever reviewed Armor all ceramic foam soap...if u have can u please give me link for video...i looked through ur vids and couldn't find anything. Thank u so much. Have a Blessed Day

Keep it going especially with pressure washers like review for average working class citizen .I’m new to pressure washing and starting out from your reviews I like craftsman 1600, ryobi 1600 ,active one
I definitely don’t have a OG budget kranzel and mtm
Thanks! Yes I agree, the kranzle is great but not in everyone’s budget and there are a lot of options that get the job done well for much less!!!
So is the goal to get the most shaving cream looking foam, or the best lubricating and cleaning foam?
It states on the bottle of max power do not delute if using in a foam cannon. I just bought some for $7 at Walmart. Following the directions on the bottle it honestly foams really well. As good as max shine mega foam. It just takes off any wax in the process lmao
can you test out carpro reset, koch gsf, auto fanatic snow storm, turtlewax ice foam, jay leno wash, p&s pearl, chemical guys maxi suds ii
How do these products actually clean or break down contaminates ? Does just thickness of foam always mean better cleaning ability ?
I was thinking about that as well. I bet people are focusing on the wrong thing. It’s cool to see the think foam, but who says that it is actually breaking down the contaminates? That is a much harder thing to test for. Outside the scope of most youtubers
Really enjoyed this series. I'm in camp Gold Class myself, but have been wanting to try some of these other soaps that you've tested out. I may try one of the Chemical Guys next.
Mr pink seems to be the best chemical guys soap
@@PurpHaze830 Thanks. I actually have since purchased a bottle of Mr. Pink and have been quite satisfied with the results.
not trying to be a smart azz here, but just a thought about the spot free??? foam rain x. many times in order to achieve "spot free" (no drying???) the approach might be adding a surfactant. example in clinical lab we use a surfactant called tween 80.
I would like to see you compare the Adam’s mega foam vs the chemical guys hydra foam cannon soap
Can you do a foam cannon /pressure washer maintenance(if any) vid bud?
Would be nice to show location of filter in foam cannon
@@dan393 yes! Because some soaps that are not designed for foam cannons will have stuff that will eventually clog the filter.
Yea I can do a maintenance vid for a foam cannon! Thats a good idea!
New to your channel and really enjoy it great job ty
Thank you Josh for all the value you provide in your videos! VERY Informative!
I bet all your neighbors have their houses up for sale because of the pressure washer noise . Lol, if I tried this at nighttime at my house 911 would be called for every bottle of soap I tested!!
Do your neighbors ever complain lol?😁
Great Videos btw your my go too!👍
Have you tested meguiars hyper wash? It really foams great
Great job! How bout foam test with the soaps with wax in them like Meguiars wash with wax , turtle zip products etc.
Silly question… is the foam cannon canister filled with water? Or just filled, say, with 10 ounces of water (for a 1:5 ratio with 2 ounces of soap)?
Amazing work. Great channel.
Thanks!
If I can remember clearly he was using 2oz soap and then filling up with water for every one of these options in the video just to keep it fair
who knows, maybe some of those will foam up even better using 3 or 4 ounces and hot hot water. to me it would be worth it if it's the cheaper ones. Also if you spray that nice thick foam more than one layer, it will make it run down the sides more. Maybe wait a few minutes and then spray again to get extra time for it to work.
Great test bro. What ph neutral foam soap u would recommend?
There are a lot of good ones out there! Meguiars gold class is a great cost effective option
When you use the foam cannon do you still have to wipe off the car to get the dirt off?
Okay these tests are cool and they're showing me a lot but, which is the best soap, like which is the best detergent that will actually cut through grime
I've heard good things about the honeydew from chem guys.
Have u ever reviewed Armor all ceramic foam soap...if u have can u please give me link for video...i looked through ur vids and couldn't find anything. Thank u so much.
Have a Blessed Day
Great information as always!
Good luck on your channel just bought one.
Wondering how these same soaps might have performed with an MJJC Pro
