Lol a coworker from over 10 years ago told me. "You HAVE to read this book" and gave me pillars of the earth to read and I feel in love! I've read EVERY kingsbridge book and it's my absolute favorite book.
My dad's coworker gifted him world without end. I just happened to pick it off the basement book shelf years later and started reading. I immediately fell in love and looked up the author and realized pillars was the 1st book. Fell in love with Follett because of pillars. I'm still currently working on a column of fire while also finishing the century trilogy
I gave a copy of Pillars of the Earth to a friend as he was recovering from surgery. He wasn't too interested at first but then kept texting me about how much fun he had reading it.
I was in Jamaica at a friends apartment where she had a large table stacked with books. The Pillars of the Earth was one of the books. She informed me that this book was phenomenal and that I would enjoy reading it. Needless to say I have read every book in the series, and am now starting on Falls of Giants century triglogy. I’m hooked!
He didn't do the research alone, either. He was in contact with the Time Team folks (BBC Ch 4, I think). They showed him experimental archaeology techniques and even gave him a traditional hand axe!
i still dont understand why HBO has not turned his century trilogy (in my opinion his BEST work) into a show. 5 Families from 5 different countries (USA, German, Russia, UK and Wales) and how they are intertwined into each other through the entire 20th century. it would teach so many people so much about history as well!
Nobody mentions the video game which a really good point-and-click adventure. I fell in love with the story that got me intrigued to check the books and the tv series.
This man just has an ability to transport me when I read his works regardless of anything that is happening in my life.
He really does transport you to another time and place
He's so damn good

He's the reason I became a writer!

I loved the Pillars of Earth!
Ken Follett, Gotta love it !
🥰😎🤓One of my faves! When I first got the book, it took me 3 weeks to read it. The second read was 4 months. I wanted to REALLY savor the chapters😊
I can not wait to read/listen on audible
I always buy the book and audio then allow him to tell me the story as a read along. Amazing journey every time.😊
I highly recommend the Audible version! Brilliantly read by John Lee.
Such an interesting man! Thanks for the prequel...loved it!
I am on my second time reading Pillars of the Earth and I love. I am very much into it.
What a good interview! He seems like really fun guy. Research on undies in the middle ages. LOLZ. Hope Jeff got a book signed.

Mr. Follett, Did you ever own a Villa in Antigua? This was on the beach at Galleon Beach Club near English Harbor.
Read it! Awesome!
Follett… like “wallet”…
Beer probably wasn’t a big problem at times
Ken could have just used the phrase "The Moonlighting Effect" lol

Lot of beer and bread oxen ect
