The Kingsbridge series just grabbed me. I absolutely loved the level of detail (I'm a Living Historian) of everyday life.

Mr. Glor, thank you for doing stories on books and authors. I don't know how many times I ordered a book after your piece aired.

The Evening and the Morning by the author he’s talking about here Ken Follet is a great read. It’s a bit of a tome but it’s not a slog to get through. Also acts as a prequel to The Pillars of the Earth, his breakthrough novel in this series, and tbh I’ve found the prequel an easier read. Highly recommend.

This is awesome. I've only recently read all the kingsbridge series books and I wasn't expecting there to be anymore but it's great to see that there will be one last book

Thank you Jeff for these interviews. I too so enjoy Ken Follett's books. I'm actually in an 8 week queue at my local library for the audio version of Pillars of the Earth published in 1989...still an 8 week wait! I don't mind at all. ; )

Follett's early thrillers were entertaining, but the Kingsbridge series is on an entirely different level. I love all sorts of books but the level of reader immersion he achieves with these is remarkable. Towards these end of 'Pillars' I suspected I was beginning to smell like sheep.😄

Pity that Mr Follett has not wrote the book, or series on steam engine. It is fascinated topic. He is unique, able to comprehand old technology, history. And incorporate into interesting human stories. He reminds litte bit Irving Stone.
