There are 2.5 misses on this truck:
Any vehicle with leather seats should automatically come with ventilated seats, especially at that price point. Those seats get icky in the summer
There should be vents in the rear. It’s crazy to me that both the Bronco, and the Ranger don’t have air vents coming out the back of the console.
I am giving half a point for the lockers being a part of the touchscreen, I would prefer a switch.
Otherwise I think it’s a sweet truck, super capable! I can’t wait to see more content with it.

Roman has explained the business reasons why on a podcast. It takes hundreds if not a $1,000 to shoot one video with staff to shoot it and edit. Plus, I'd be more concerned about long-term reliability on the Toyota. Yes, Toyota has a better overall reputation than Ford, but this truck has a proven engine and transmission that have been around a while and are still doing reasonably well. We don't know much about the new Toyota engine yet - but new engines, even from Toyota, tend to have issues for the first few years. Plus in addition to the Engine, Transmission and Turbo in the Ford, the Toyota also has a hybrid battery and motor that all need to function. That's a lot of components, any of which a failure could make a very bad or very expensive day.

I want to see your testing of the 2.7 Ranger when it comes out soon. It will be less powerful than the Raptor, but that 2.7 receives universal praise in the F-150 platform. The 2.7 Ranger should be a good deal lighter than the Raptor. Maybe the 2.7 version is going to end up being the one to buy. Couple extra thousand pounds in towing capacity, a few thousand cheaper for a well-equipped example, most or all of the straight-line fun the Raptor offers... Should be interesting.
I was interested to see the towing capacity of the 2.7 and 2.3 are the same. Wonder what the limiting component/system is.

    • @jbrou123
      @jbrou123 6 месяцев назад +1

When setting towing limits, you also have to consider stopping limits. Plus, they also take in Gross Vehicle Weight, the 2.7 is a little heavier, so towing is lowered. But still, for an additional $2195, the V6 is very attractive on the Ranger.

The butterfly valve factory "cheats" that open up once a specific RPM is attained makes for ungodly rackets for hours at night....these owners disable these butterflys, or keep the revs above the tach breakpoint... listening to a C4 Corvette vs. a C8 Corvette is like night & day.

Expect markups depending on the greedy dealer you place your order from. It is ridiculous, and Ford does not offer any protection on ‘special’ vehicles so you are on your own.
This is based on my experience with a Ford Bronco Raptor reservation that started at $69k MSRP the first year, then $75k when order was placed, arrived at dealer with $83k MSRP from Ford even when it stated $75k on Ford’s order status website. Then dealer had the audacity to show me classifies of similar vehicles on sale by other dealers at markups and wanted $5k on top of the already hiked MSRP. Dealer rep even stated “they have the right to keep the vehicle if they wanted.” This was Angela Kraus Ford in Alpharetta, GA.
I walked away and bought a vehicle from another brand. Happy with my decision, only regret was that the dealer probably got to sell my reservation to another person desperate enough to buy it.

    Welcome to 2024's version of a 1992 F150.
3.0EB did pretty well in the Explorer ST with some tuning. If it's nearly the same powertrain in this truck, it should be a powerhouse.

I had a 3 ltr v6 in a ford van, and had great 200,000 + miles on it. I like the ranger, but would like crew cab and a longer bed... It seems like the only way to get that longer bed is Taco? Given the problems with new engines for toyota lately, I will wait another year before looking for our next vehicle.

The ranger is about the same size as f150s 10-15 years ago. Similar amount of materials, manufacturing costs, etc, plus inflation, the price isnt bad at all.

Ford needs to learn from tacomas 3rd gen and move wire light hook ups to the top of bumper not the bottom which toyota had on their 2nd gen tacomas. 58k is a lot though. :( Might rather have something else now a days which is sad. If i was comparing a Tacoma pro tomthis might chose this. Just dor 60k plus I am looking at a Full size and a used UTV.

Here in Puerto Rico that Truck is IMPOSSIBLE TO GET. The Ford Dealers are asking $80k . The FX4 model is close to $57k.

Orange interior accent should be optional. Not standard

Inflation doesn’t account for the price. $55,000 ten years ago no $80,000 for 150 Raptors… that’s nearly 60% in ten years. To bad cars aren’t like TVs

I also don't understand why auto manufacturers are putting the trailer connection Underneath of the bumper where all of the salt and the water and all the elements can get into that unit and short it out you're going to go thru deep water then wonder why your trailer connector doesn't work simple fix but terrible spot. I don't know why they do this to mid size trucks. All full size trucks are not like this. I could be mistaken about some of them. I don't know all of them but I know that ford chevy g m c and ram always put the connector above the bumper it just makes more sense

If dealers weren’t so greedy, this would be a best seller in the midsize range especially with Toyota loosing their minds

id really like you guys to drive the truck like a normal person, faster then 10 mph

I guarantee you in some places the 10 mph feels as dangerous as 130 mph on a highway. But I agree with you.

I think 400 Watts is enough for most people. A laptop only needs about 100w, meaning you could run one of those at full tilt and charge several phone. That said, if you're regularly using power tools, you might be better off with an F-150 or a large battery pack that can charge off the 400w plug.

The 3.0 eco boost is not new or specific to the Ranger or Bronco Raptors because Ford first came out with it in the Explorer ST in 2020
