To stay aware and motivated, you could ask yourself every day: 'Do I want to help my body live? Or help it die? 🤔
Then keep a 12 step Daily Journal of your new journey, beginning with:
1- Intro detailing WHY you want to do keto and/or cnvr.
2- How you feel about starting a new way of eating.
3- Listing what you need to do to be successful.
4- What foods to have and what to avoid.
5- How you feel (felt) on the day of your decision. Weight.
6- Then a daily list of what you eat and most importantly,
7- How you felt on that day.
8- What mistakes you made and
    9- How you fixed them.
    {Be totally honest with yourself}
10- Record a 7, then 30 day assessment, stating everything that worked for you and what didn't and how you managed the first 7/30 days.
11- Refer to this journal whenever you get disheartened, to help you push through the hard stuff, to remind yourself what it was like in the beginning, to remind yourself why you are doing this.
    Then...
12- share this idea with others, to help them stick to their plan. x
    👍💖🥓🥩💃

I know this is an older post, but I wanted to mention that I buy unbleached cheesecloth and wrap chicken (or turkey) in the cheesecloth before cooking it down for soup. It makes keeping the bones out of the soup so much easier.

  • @Sybaris_Rex

Bacon drippings are liquid gold but there is another element that a lot of us are losing out on. Using paper or foil loses all of that fond. I have been thinking about doing something like what I do with my steaks when I cook them on my stainless and making pan sauces after I pull the steak. I believe that some of the higher end companies make heavier baking sheets (like All Clad). I want to try making my bacon right on the baking sheet and after pouring out the drippings, bringing them up to a high temp over two of my oven burners and doing the same technique of getting them up to a good temp and then dropping in some beef broth while scraping down the sheet.
I just feel when I make bacon seeing all of those brown bits lost to the trash rather than in my food.

I wanted to share a recipe of something I have been makin'. I'm on an OMAD and STRICTLY carnivore with Monday all day fasting! It's a 3 day - "seafood casserole" kind of creation. Consists of a can of Albacore tuna in spring water, a can of sardines - wild caught in water and a vacuum packed large piece of wild caught alaskan salmon (coho or sockeye) from Trader Joes, all cooked on my outside covered grille. I put the salmon on a foil boat out on the covered grille and while its cookin' - about 12 minutes, I make a foil boat platter with about 24" of foil, folded long way in1/2 and then cup up the outer edge (about an inch) to make a boat. Then scoup in the tuna (after draining water) and the anchovies drained and break up it all and stir it up. After the salmon cooks (about 15 minutes) I scoup it into the mixture and break it all up and stir it in. Then I scoup it all into the foil boat and flatten it out and put a couple scoups of beef tallow (fat) on top for oil. Then back in to the grille for about 10 -15 more minutes. But I also take about 6 local free range raw eggs whipped in a bowl and pour it on top and kind of stir it in. In 10 minutes I have a 3 day casserole that I divide in three and last me for 3 meals (days)! It only comes to about $5 per day to eat! It's awesome!! (I really can't taste a fish taste after cooking - it's amazing and SUPER nutritious!)

I also have the Ninja Foodi XL Grill and I air fry a lb of bacon in it at 390f. The way I get the lb of bacon spread out in the grill is I bought the Aieve stainless steel drying rack that has three levels from Amazon. for a bit over twenty bucks US I saw another You Tuber do this and it works very well, multiple lbs of bacon can be done in series as it only takes ten to twelve minutes per batch for crispy bacon. You a can fit more than lb on the rack, I just don't cook more than a lb at a time. The rendered bacon fat is recoverable from the pan in the grill.

Sockeye Salmon is better. Fresh from Costco, BJs, or Sam's Club. You can fry it for your breakfast with your other stuff or buy the Sockeye in the can. Better than the pink. I barbeque all my steak and burgers. Cod liver, yuck, but I do eat calf's liver. I make oxtails and chuck roasts and they are both great. I like sirloin tip roast , I never cooked it that way. It's like lunch meat after you finished. I like that idea.

What a perfect video!!! Your mom was right on with that chicken soup too! Once a month I add chicken wings/ back and feet to my bone broth as it has a different type of collagen than other meats. I think there is something in that Type II collagen that is so healing for us, hence all the wives tales about chicken soup being medicine! 🙂 So happy to see the pups in this one too!!

Thank you! I liked the idea of adding the seafood as you are with your beef. I don't know why I never thought of it, I'll try it. I was wondering if there's any food's you have introduced and particularly noticed changed health? A while back I started taking Red Krill Oil supplements for inflammation relecommended by a Functional GP, but was sceptical about whether or not they helped. I ran out and hadn't been taking them for a week and that's when I realised that they had significantly reduced my inflammation. I was so surprised. I don't love taking the pills though so hope to start introducing more omega 3's in my meals.
Thank you for the tip's! 😊

Yes, it can be restrictive and boring but that just depends on the person. I'm not a big meat eater. Sure I can eat a lb of bacon a day, but I can't accept that that's good for me. I have to eat some seafood and low carb veggies and fruit.

I don't have a ton of money so I can't be buying all the carniore crisps and stuff because I live with people who don't do carnivore and obviously my food is more expensive than bread and pasta. If I was single my refrigerator would be me only red meat and oork. but I love your videos I love your attitude and your beautiful and thank you.

Eat what you can afford. I don't actually like the taste of grass fed meats so I don't buy it. For me personally, I came from a steady diet of fast food and crap with who knows what chemicals in there. While I do like to get organic when I can, I'm not going to worry about this.

Sorry to hear that but I do hope you noticed that these 5 days are perfectly doable without any purchased products. You can cook in saved bacon grease or butter or saved tallow. All of the foods I ate can be purchased from the grocery store and if a meat is not available then eat what is available where you live! And thank you so much for watching all the way from Scotland! Hi there. I found your channel because I was looking for reviews for meat slicers. I subscribed because I am keto. I have thought about carnivore, but I am not prepared to go that restrictive right now. But I do eat carnivore meals
I am impressed by your collection of kitchen appliances and gizmos, plus you have a beautiful kitchen
For that Cuisinart meat slicer, do you still like it? I saw some reviews from people who don't like it too much, but it looked like it did a good job for you. I want to get an inexpensive one because I don't see using it a lot. And all the less expensive slicers had similar reviews.

    • @KetogenicWoman

That is exactly why I went for the el cheapo model! I don't use it a whole lot, really just for slicing cold roast beef into thin slices as well as those times I want to make chips. I've had a few power users say they don't like it but then they recommend something that costs hundreds of dollars which I just don't think is necessary for my needs.
