I know Rammstein so the “auto tune” on Till’s voice seems off. Great album but it kinda ruined the song to alter Till’s voice. I know that’s what the band desired but it kinda seems out of place
Completely second your appreciation for Flake on this album, his synths add such an important layer for Rammstein.
Fun Fact: The band had to basically beg him to join the band and apparently to this day he hasn’t officially said “Yes”. But hey, that’s Flake for you!

Never! Nothing against Mutter and Reise, Reise but Herzeleid and Sehnsucht are the best one! Raw, brutal, provocative and so direct.
I like Mutter and RR as well. Its more melodic, more Pop. But if you are new in the Rammstein Universe, you should start with their beginning. Especially if you want to compare Tills vocal progress.

This song is most likely about a partner who you know is absolute poison to you, but you can’t help yourself. “Giftig” translates closer to “Poison”. The line (Bitten as I sleep) is probably a reference to the longing & lust you may feel towards that person when you’re all alone in bed. You may try to forget them but even in your dreams you can’t. You know deep down that they’re slowly killing & destroying you, yet you still can’t help but to love it because you’re absolutely addicted to them.
(Probably the most experimental & interesting song in the entire album. The use of autotune when he is being poisoned is just so tastefully used. The chorus also just reminds me of old school Rammstein)
Giftig is one of my favorite songs on Zeit. It really reminds me of the Rammstein I discovered on Sehnsucht, with a heavy tanz metal riff and beat and great synth work. Just splendid!
Flake has a deep impact in this album and I LOVE IT!

@@prodigy84bg I assume your least favorite is Lügen, I'm in the same boat, and it's mostly because of the auto-tune, it doesn't seem to fit Till... I love the entire album, but that one seems out of place...

@@oretho6406 The auto-tune speaks to the heart of the song. Everything is a lie, can't even trust what you hear. Is the heartfelt soft tone of the beginning real or was that tuned?
The final verse is just the lie crumbling and even though it's weird hearing Till like that it's part of the message..besides, Rammstein is always weird. It makes sense in its nonsense.
@@prodigy84bg it's not supposed to sound good. Good auto-tune shouldn't be noticeable, the lie is so bad that it can't even be tuned correctly.
This IS one of their best albums EVER! Absolutely INCREDIBLE! They continue to surpass themselves!

"Angst" is my favourite too. But I also like "Adieu", even when it makes me so sad. Seeing them playing live "Adieu" here in Leipzig was so emotional :(

Sweden and Germany shares alot when it comes to language aswell as the nordic countries has a language trading history with Great Brittain too. An example is the word ”Window”. During the vikings travels to GB they brought their word for window which was ”vindoga”, meaning ”wind eye”. An eye in the house where you coukd let hhe wind in. Or as some say, it means ”wise eye” since it lets you see the outside from indoors. Not sure which is more correct.
Funny enough here in sweden we adapted the german word for window, which is ”fenster” and bacame fönster here.

All thoughts and views could be concidered criminal or BS, depending on who is watching. None of us would want our views to be seen as criminal in the eyes of the law. Certain actions like killing or threatening others because they have other views should be criminal. On the other hand its only a sign of weakness when people do go down that path.

With lyrics like that, I always think Till is singing about the effect of (his) women on him. He was together with some really impressive women. At the end with Charlotte Sartre (hardcore porn actress). When I think of her, I suspect that she is the poison that Till has no antidote for. I think in general that non-political texts are often about sex. That's also the case with Heinrich Heine, by the way.
I recommend Auslander or radio from the last album! Great songs!

I kinda got what you're saying but when I heard this the first time, it punched me with the feeeling that all of it was just in my own head, like "you're toxic oh so toxic" was just my own brain saying " these dark thoughts are pulling you down, stop thininking about it just focus on what you'd like to do or think" just trying to be positive but all the negativity keeping coming back. Anyway, I just discovered your channel and I really liked the way react to songs, you seem realy true about what you think and feel about songs ❤. Im so in love with U, because of your passion to Ramstein, your emotional intelligence and your sontanious reactions. Yeah, Rammstein is heavy, but alos creative, sometimes a bit unexpectable in their composing and arrangements, and that mekes them so brilliant and uniqe, and yes, the contribution of Flakes Keys is fantastic and gets a bit more focus on Zeit. Giftig is - as a song and the storytelling by the lyrics, a wonderful axpression of what we feel so often when we are confrontet with evil - shocked, disgusted, scared - and of course fascinated. I cant wait for your reaction to Lügen, Meine Tränen, Adieu, just a few days, U can enjoy the rest of Zeit in total, really! Big Hug! Take Care!

Im from Prague and 2 weeks ago Rammstein started tour after 3 years, I saw 3 shows in week, one was special for club mebers reherseal from all world only for thousand people, this was the best shows I ever seen in my life, heard 4 songs premiere live from new album, amazing pyro, sound, stage, lights, atmosphere, best group in the world, see Ramstein live is trilion x better, and Armere is best song opener I ever heard in my life, plus Adieue at the end of gigs, best group in the world
This song definitely has an oriental touch, it sounds so Arabic, and I always imagine a cobra when he sings "poisonous". One of my favorites from the album
In my opinion Flake is the dots on the i, bc I've heard Rammlied without synth and it wasn't the same (obviously) but it was still good but with Flake on the keyboard makes it just complete

"Giftig" can mean either "poisonous" or "venomous", in the song it's clearly implied to mean "venomous" since it's about being stung!

Since, you seem to like Rammstein, you maybe also like some other german bands. As a german, i can personally recommend to check out: Die Apokalyptischen Reiter (eng. Riders of the Apocalypse) Also, they have some songs in english. When it comes to them, I have the feeling, you could really like them. if you are into Punk, check out: Die Toten Hosen (eng. The Dead Trousers). As a song, I can recommend one of their classics: Tage wie Diese (eng. Days Like These)
When it comes to heavier sutff, then make sure to check out: Eisregen (eng.: Blizzard) which are known to be very controverse. Some of their Aabums are even indexed here and the band is more compareable to a band like Cannibal Corpse. Some songs from Eisregen, are bangers and some not really. But, some songs from Eisregen, deserve a reaction. Saidly, not many reaction RUclipsrs have them on the rader and have reacted to them. When it comes to Eisregen, you would be one of the first.
The songs from Eisregen, which I could recommend would be: Mein Eichensarg (eng. My Oaken Coffin), Todestag (eng. Death Day), but the wildest and craziest song, I can personally recommend, which is just insanely dark and mindlowingly insane, is their songs: Bewegliche Ziele (Moving Targets). I do not want to spoiler too much, but lyric wise this song, could be plot for a movie. Saidly, the band does not have a video for that one. But, I am pretty sure, that if you listen to that song and read the translation of lyrics by yourself, this wild song, will blow your mind. Probably, even more then any song from Rammstein you have listened.
When it comes to translating songs from bands from Germany to English, I can say as a German, that the translations from lyricsaround.com/en are pretty much accurate (not all but most). However, if you come to a point where you are unable to find a decent translation. Then simply ask, I would try my best to write a decent one.

Rrrrrrammstein has always been this way. They tell it like it is.
And the message here is clear: don't date strippers or porn' stars. They come in broken like a dropped crystal vase and trying to 'fix' them results in cuts and bleeding.
I speak from experience.
I think the better song to a toxic relationship from rammstein is „amour“
