    Not a plumber, but the install looked neat, not necessarily art work, but well organized and neat

      @PrecisionDavePlumbingMore  Год назад +1

      Yea it's PRETTY neat, not to my standards but ok. It's missing some components and also wasn't piped up 100% correctly.

    Hello
    I am also certified plumber and gas fitter.
    Boiler piping installation in good way and nice .
    Why you saying it’s messy.
    Plz focus on your own work .
    Thanks

      Im glad to hear your a certified plumber and fitter. Nothing wrong with giving my opinion on how a unit was piped up. Im sure you have installed hundreds of Naviens and you your piping is not messy to you. Everyone has the right to there opinions and i do focus on my own work that's the reason why i said this is messy because its missing a couple components that will extend the life of the unit and also efficiency, plus crooked pipes dont help. Thanks for watching and giving your opinion.

    Tankless water heater not coming on
    This is for my neighbor. The tech stop by and he says it needs new heat exchanger. I was there today just check my self. Give you a code E003 → check gas supply. Valve is open. I clean igniter and flame rod. I'm getting 120v at ingnitor transformer (19kv) but not sure if transformer is any good? Unit was installed 5 years ago. She also noticed that the hot water pressure started slowing down years ago.
    Please help
    Model number NPE-180S
    Thank you

    Install looks fine. I would have used circulators over zone valves but that’s me

    • @PrecisionDavePlumbingMore
      @PrecisionDavePlumbingMore  8 месяцев назад

      The installation was ok, not up to my standards, but it's works. Yes, I'm with you. I always use pumps for each zone.

    And how do you vent them out there do you run both out the house or just the exhaust? And you use regular pvc or the gray I’ve seen some plumbers just go 10 inch peice with a 90 and screen on intake side to get air from the basement (lol) I’ve seen these so many ways curious how you do it

    • @PrecisionDavePlumbingMore
      @PrecisionDavePlumbingMore  Год назад

      I always vent both the intake and the exhaust outside. Sometimes I sleeve the existing chimney with Polypro flex and run PVC to the exterior separately. Or I run Polypro for exhaust and intake to a termination box.

    I had a new Navien combi installed in March and have nothing but trouble with it. It constantly gives e 003 codes. They pretty much rebuilt the whole unit and the gas company replace the valve to the house. Still the same issue. Boiler was deemed a lemon and whole thing was replaced a month ago. Same issues and code again…this is crazy!

      I'm sorry, but it's has nothing to do with the unit. I have installed 100 + units and no problems. Usually, 98% of the problem is the installation and the lack of knowledge how to set up the unit. Sounds like you have igniter problems that have to do with gas pressure or offset pressure not set correctly. Did they do a combustion analysis? If they changed the unit because the 1st one was supposedly bad, what makes them think the 2nd one would be bad also.

      I’m of the same opinion but these guys have done 100’s of installs of these units. A Niven rep is supposed to come look at the install tomorrow. Hopefully we get some answers! It’s cold here in Alaska and this has been a nightmare.

      @jarrettfinley3704 Oh, I'm sure it's freezing up there. Would love to see a video of the installation.

      Are you sure that there isn’t a slow leak somewhere in the system? No way two units have the same issue.

      My guess is 1/2” csst has been used. You may use 1/2” black iron for 10ft for newer models, but if it’s csst the diameter is actually much smaller than black iron. I’d be curious what the inlet gas pressure is at the unit when everything is running.

    I’m curious to know what you do as far as maintenance to these out in NJ ? Do you pump in cleaner in it and flush it

    • @PrecisionDavePlumbingMore
      @PrecisionDavePlumbingMore  Год назад

      So it all depends on if I installed the unit or if another plumber installed it. Only reason it's different is because 95% of plumbers don't install them correctly and need different maintenance especially on the heating side. Definitely always a flush. Why start bashing the other company to present yourself as a higher standard when it wasn't the install that was the problem, a part on the boiler went bad.

    • @PrecisionDavePlumbingMore
      @PrecisionDavePlumbingMore  2 месяца назад

      So first of all I didn’t mention the other company name so no way to bash them. Im talking about the installation which is not up to Navien standards and definitely not mine either. I dont put myself higher then any other company we all have are own way of working.
