Nathan, with the upcoming buffs to Burning Arrow, I want to make a BA build league starter. But I have to roll off-meta because I suffer from Quin69itis, so I was considering a Burning Arrow "Golementalist", utilizing a couple extra golem jewels, passives, and the golem ascendancy nodes for increased buff effect, and Beacon of Ruin. Questions: 1) Well, I've never used Beacon of Ruin, I know it got nerfed, assuming no changes how dumb is it to use? 2) Most every bow node has "increased damage over time with bow skills" are these not worth investing into at all?
Looks like Burning Arrow will be hot in 3.9, Chris mentioned an ignite stacking effect in the re-work! Along with the new Barrage support this could be huge boss DPS...
Awesome. Planned on rolling a burning arrow build ever since the rumors of the bow meta were leaked/confirmed a couple of months ago, figuring burning arrow would receive direct or indirect buffs. Now I'm getting excited for bow meta.
I remember playing Burning arrow some leagues ago, I can confirm the sentiment, the build shine in mid tier, it really feels good to play. In red tier monsters start to get a bit too tough and fast => hard to kite, and it becomes frustrating. Hope the buff on the gem for Metamorph ends up shifting the power spike into higher maps :)
I made some really good life/fire dot multi gear i had on a RF jugg including finding an almost perfect searing touch so I did that of course but also made an arc ignite chieftain and they both did UE no problem. Loves me some ignites.
Noob question here, i'd love to see a guide on how to find a loot filter and how to know which one to use and why. There's so much loot that knowing what is good to pick up or not is very overwhelming.
Filterblade is how most people create theirs these days, it's neversinks website free to the community to fully customize his default loot filter to your liking :)
I think most people just use Neversink or Filterblade, whatever one let's you pick your color formatting on the site. I pick a new color each league just to change it up. Then as you progress in the league adjust the strictness of the filter accordingly. Eventually when you're farming maps fast enough you want to turn up the strictness so you're not wasting time identifying tons of rares and instead pick up the ones with high item levels that your loot filter will see. Personally I tend to focus on picking up boots, belts, and wands since I've had the most luck finding valuable ones.
Loot pollution is a huge problem that hopefully PoE 2 will resolve. There is way too much loot, but once you gain more experience with the game and adjust your loot filter it's not so annoying. Just remember that it's all about efficiency and most currency is, well, actually currency that you will find farming, so when you're late game only pick up the rares that have the best chance of being valuable. But even then only 1% of them seem to be worth anything. You can definitely hit on some big finds, I've found numerous 3-5 ex boots and early in the league some 2-3 ex foils and stuff.
Wave of conviction ignite worked unexpectedly well for me. The phys conversion means there's tons of extra damage scaling that's available and the playstyle is smoother than channeling based ignites like flameblast and divine ire.
I also played a burning arrow with a lot of memes in it this league. Even though it has a LOT of problems with defense, it feels great to play, due to how beatiful it is. Happy to share if there is any interest. One thing you might want to try is using a vaal burning arrow. It always can hit (if you aim properly), it has the same 6l since the vaal skill rework, and I THINK you can instantly stack both ignites with the AoE overlaps. It also has 3 charges without any investment.
If anybody wants to go spell ignite I can recommend fireball trickster If I had a searing touch drop in ssf I'd have gotten to 1.5m shaper dps/7k eHP with maybe an ex budget The trick is to go MoM and add a firetrap: it's burning ground effect isn't an ignite but a separate fire DOT
It really feels bad every time i think about how far Burning Arrow has dropped since the first change to Proliferation AOE. We have heard that they are reworking the gem again for 3.9, but i'm pretty done holding my breath for this gem. They might make it good, but it will never be the same.
@@mattio79 Yeah you're right, going full crit with phys to lightning conversion and a stormfire is a lot better damage. But I still hit 750k ignite dps with a chieftain that had 7k life and 1k regen and 1k leech. I play on HC so I like playing as a non-crit chieftain more than going full dps.
You know what, i really like how you mostly walk (pretty fast) with the occasional dash. Its pretty unrelated with your vid's contents but this is what i feel should be what movement overall looks like, move around the map by foot (albeit being able to move fast) with the ocational dash for during combat or outside combat repositioning.
Now that Burning Arrow is getting buffed in patch 3.9.0, is it still better to scale damage with the initial flat fire damage or fire dot multiplier? I'm thinking of playing with Xoph's Nurture which has radius of 20 for further spread.
they removed sudden ignition from drop tables, is the build still good without it? also on your pob you don't have a multishot gem socketed, but in the gameplay here you seem to be firing with lesser projectile support?
haven't tested it myself, but the burning arrow buff/rework should make up for the loss of sudden ignition. For your second question, the bow he uses (arborix) grants 2 additional projectiles, and the deadeye ascendant node gives 1 additional projectile
That this build is or is at least close to a 'complete failure' JUST because it kills stuff a little slow, is a testament to how bullshit power creep has gotten. PoE needs some extreme nerfs...
No offense, this is rather weak, considering the recent buffs to ignite and the budget used for it. I opened your PoB and tweaked it completely, also going pure Elementalist will grant you the most Dps while still being completely efficient with your skill points to allocate in more life. I was able to pull roughly 950k Dps per ignite stack (can still be improved with further investment), which easily translates to a total of almost 1.9m shaper dps, with 6k+ life at level 89, with still plenty of points to allocate, I also ditched the overpriced Circle of Anguish ring to be replaced by a very cheap and more powerful ring.
Love what you've got here so far! I've actually been working on a burning arrow build myself since it's been uncharted territory for some time. With the new changes to ignite stacking and barrage support, it's hard to tell what the best way to run BA going into 3.9 will be as of now. If you're interested in sharing some build ideas, I'll link my forum post below. :) [3.9 BA Chieftain] www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2681831/page/1#p22559402 There's a lot of theoretical information on my post so far, but I've compiled data from a 3.3 build (Jay's BA linked in my forum post) and some experience from my friend running a Trickster BA build in 3.7. The Trickster version is very QoL rich like you mentioned. I would suggest it for a future build if you're looking for something new to mess around with. I settled on Chief for the passive tree convenience and that fire multi you mentioned in the video. I'll be monitoring my build post if anyone wants to provide input or questions. Thanks and good luck exiles! Edit: I think the trickster build you mentioned at the end of the video may have been mine XD. I do remember throwing a lot of theoretical choices into that forum post for the sake of min-maxing (Namely the lvl 100 tree and expensive itemization). Unfortunately, I did not have the time to get that build as fleshed out as I wanted to and I'm hoping to make 3.9 BA more of a league start! Here's the link to that Trickster post even though it's information is probably pretty outdated: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2596590/page/1
I have a suggestion! Use burning arrow and barrage with fork plus! I dont know how much it will stack, but with that combination, you will get ~4 ignite stacks per skill use and decent coverage, generating 8 projs off of the first target.
It seems like pastebin is down, sorry about that! I will add the PoB to the description as soon as it's back up and running :) Edit: it's updated

The only question is what ascendancy? I'm thinking golem/ignite prolif elementalist for those juicy golem buffs.
@@1TotalJabroni I suppose we'll have to wait for the patch notes! I would be tempted by Raider, but I'm no expert ^^

If you watch the gameplay from Exilecon, you can see the new lvl 1 Burning Arrow. It is pretty insane in my opinion :)
I like Divine Ire with avatar of fire.
It's like flameblast but you can snipe with it.
Divine Ire with Stormfire ring is better

You talked alot about Soulrend. Maybe a starting point for the next build?
A Low Life Occultist or something like that?
I respect the thumpnail honesty rock on
after the change that ggg has done that they have posted on their twitter its gonna be extremely good

You can get burning damage multiplier on your rings by crafting % damage.

I use scion with bow too. It's awesome.
Can't wait to see the bow skill changes. (I hope GGG buff explosive arrow ignite build)
hmm what about levelling tree? where should i start opening the nodes??
Ever try playing Frost Blades or Viper Strike?
Burning arrow with ignite stacks and barrage support will be the best bosskill bow skill next league xD
Explosive arrow though

Does the new Burning Arrow gem, make this better?
Almost triples the damage with no changes lol
boom what up
