- A man in Hells Kitchen caused a major accident with his box truck then tried to steal a FDNY Fire truck also assaulting the Firefighter driver. Unlucky for him the firefighters weren't going to let him get away with that.

Do the trucks not have a motor overrun? In germany ambulances, police cars and fire trucks have this. The motor runs without the key and if anyone tryes to steal the car by hitting the gas, brakes or clutch, the motor turns off and can only startet again with the key.
Holger Czubka, that feature is completely random here in the Us, it depends if the company buying the equipment felt like getting that feature. About half of the ambulances I operate use this feature. I have no idea if NYFD has that feature or not.
