et's go through this scene by scene: 0:00 sirens blaring for quite some time already but oncoming left turning traffic still enters the intersection and vehicles in front of the fire trucks took ages until they finally moved through the red traffic light, into the intersection, or drove up the sidewalk or median 0:36 while the black VW Polo moved to the center line which is allright, neither the grey Audi ahead, nor the black Opel or black BMW in the next lane moved to let the riot police van pass; They grey Audi was in the intersection but didn't move any further for quite a long time 1:19 all the vehicles in the left lane are idiots, simple as that. The illuminated traffic boards above the left lane say that it's shut down and no vehicle is allowed to drive there, yet it was packed with dozens of vehicles. Thus the Engine had to fight its way through traffic and the co-driver even had to get out of the truck to direct the driver 2:14 that SWAT truck took longer just to get from one Avenue to the next Avenue than we take all the way from the station to the scene; No vehicle ahead of it moved aside and pedestrians also walked across right in front of it 2:48 you hear that desperate switching between siren tones and honking of the horn. I ran more than 110 meters to the intersection and only as I got there the first vehicles finally started moving over 3:12 what a dickhead in the dark-red Opel. While being fully aware that there'S an emergency vehicle right behind him, he absolutely refused to clear the path by driving through the red light, beyond the stopping line and into the intersection. 3:43 both the Engine and Tower Ladder weren't able to leave the station grounds as vehicles in the side street were completly blocking the station's exit. At that point the Command Car went the other direction and drove around the entire block 4:13 the black VW sedan basically did the right thing as the Engine performed a u-turn, but he didn't drive far enough; That's where the Engine flashed the headlights and switched the siren on again 4:36 both drivers of the old and new silver Mercedes were driving into the intersection, but then simply stopped there in a matter where the special operations apparatus wasn't able to proceed or get around them at all; It took some sweet time until they finally moved on 5:12 neither vehicles ahead of the police car nor oncoming traffic tried to move over; Sure it's more difficult in a construction zone, but there definetly was space, just look at the chevron marked area to the side of the oncoming lane, traffic could easily have moved there; Also the vehicles in front of the police car could easily have pulled over into the bus stop, roundabout or road section before actually entering that construction zone. I recorded a driver of a semi truck doing so, so it definetly IS possible 5:22 the fire truck turned on the siren as soon as he left the station, still it took lots of airhorn honking to get traffic moving at the intersection 5:40 that Highway Patrol car had such difficulties to get through that he flashed his headlights more than 60 (!) times at vehicles ahead 5:58 also the state police patrol car in this clip was required to grab the attention by flashing headlights multiple times 6:10 drivers in that situation are supposed to clear and maintain an emergency corridor between the lanes; Although they somehow did move over sooner or later, most of them went back into the middle of their own lane right after the Engine passed. In such an emergency with multiple emergency vehicles responding that makes response times unnecessarily slow. Just look at some of the semi trucks standing close to the lane dividing line and only start moving over as the fire engine is right up on their ass, flashing headlights at them. Same thing with the car drivers in the fast lane 6:36 While the grey Seat reacted as the saw that this might be an option for the ambulance go get around, the ambulance had to switch between siren tones and honk at the driver of the blue VW to finally move 6:54 driver of the black VW not aware of his surrounding. While only paying attention at oncoming emergency vehicles blocking his path (as he intended to turn left into a driveway) he completly missed an entire convoy of emergency vehicles approaching him from behind with lights and sirens as well 7:09 the dark Audi not reacting onto the state police patrol car waiting behind him, flashing headlights and honking besides the constantly running siren 7:20 that unmarked Port Authority Police Department car didn't even try to proceed in that street, seeing no chance to get through as drivers were blocking it completly 7:40 Engine leaving the station and switching the siren on right away. The car turning right did proceed, but on the following 2 lane section he simply kept blocking the Engine and that's where they sounded the airhorn at him 7:53 again the ambulance needs to honk at drivers to finally clear a path 8:09 another ambulance, with drivers ahead either not moving, or first moving into wrong spots and a police officer needed to tell them to keep on moving into the intersection 8:25 as all drivers in the road didn't move over, this command van from the FD decided to drive down the sidewalk and bikelane instead 8:40 this fire truck required a walking escort in front of him, shouting at people so they actually move out of the way for the fire truck 9:05 sure a messy situation when the road ahead is blocked, but drivers then simply should choose another route instead of standing there blocking all traffic. Took some sweet time until the rescue truck actually reached the intersection 9:39 ambulance fighting its way through traffic, took like 20 minutes just to drive down this road. It's the same location like at 8:25 ... as you can see it has turned dark by then and drivers were still blocking the road although they knew emergency vehicles were coming 9:55 maybe the scene where drivers might be the least to blame due to high curbs directly on the bridge, however right before/after the bridge the curb is much lower and people should simply drive up onto the sidewalk to give way 10:53 lights and sirens right behind him and the driver of the white Skoda simply stopped right in front of the ambulance 11:07 damn that took long until drivers finally moved to the left and right; The curb is super low on that bridge, it would have been so easy to just drive up onto the sidewalk. The ambulance took more than 2 minutes to move 500 m ...
The people who complain about how long it takes emergency services to get to the scene are probably the same people who won't move out of the way for them.
Echo 9970 preaching to the choir here, lol. The more we come to rely on these services the more some folks just take it for granted with no clue what it takes to aquire, run & maintain er services let alone the daily struggles they deal with, like self entitled ignorant twits, both drivers & commentaries.
Absolute rubbish. Where do you expect people to move to when road planners have narrowed lanes down and built high pavements in an attempt to cause congestion/pollution.
@@Bond2025 I empathize about the planners, just look at commonly referred to “spaghetti bowls” & other highway exchanges. However, there are ways as was evidence by this very video. Refusing to even try to get out of the way for emergency vehicles running lights/siren is criminal, morally vapid & entitled.
I used to drive an Army ambulance through Wash., D.C. At a traffic circle near American University, a taxi cab sat at a red light, refusing to pull forward so I could get by him. I used the ambulance, in low gear to literally PUSH the cab (a Diamond Cab) out of the way. As I went around him, a Metro PD unit pulled the cab over.
I understand your frustration, but just because traffic is supposed to yield to you, it doesn’t give them the authority to run a red light. A jerk cop would be just as likely to give him a ticket for running the red light to get out of your way. Traffic is required to yield to the right, they are not exempt from traffic laws and would be legally liable for any accident they caused. I’m quite surprised you don’t know that.
amyone who has not had to endure the absolute morons who refuse to give way when your rushing to save lives will never really know true frustration and helplessness and anger.
Its crazy, every government should enact a law whereby any emergency vehicles being purposely blocked should be given the power to forcibly move vehicles from their path.... The onus is on the driver(s) in the way to pay for any damages suffered !
In my country the fire department at times knocks cars that might be near an official parking spot but are not parked in it very well out of the way, or knock a mirror off if that's what it means to at least pass in some way or another.
Fire trucks can if they happen to be in a fire lane. They have full permission to go OVER a car if they're in the way as long as they're in a fire lane.
there are numerous different sirens the crews can choose from, and there are strobe lights as well, but hardly any department or emergency service purchases their vehicles with that outdated technology
Aus Explorer totally agree with you there let the emergency vehicles play death race 2000 on that ass, with any luck it's the asshats house their going to ain't karma a bitch, ooppps sorry old boy traffick was thick as thives it was just couldn't save ya home mate but hey maybe next time yea.
I think that's why fire trucks have those big bumpers in the front. Honestly if I were a fire truck driver I would give people a minute to get the fuck out of my way before I crunch the fuck out of there car
I swear... im always the ONLy one going out of my way to clear a path. If im in the left lane, i swing over to the left and vice versa. and im always sitting there looking at other ppl like "get over!!". idk... people just dont know things anymore
I see the same thing in traffic jams. I was in one once and saw a towing truck coming down with it's lights on from a high overpass (it was easily 500 or more meters behind me) but it was capable of quickly merging and take the emergency lane, and I immediately went to the left-most position in my lane (which was immediately right of the emergency lane) and I just could see the response of the people behind me be one resembling something off "Now what the hell are you doing...why are you making that move?" and the towing truck came by at a reasonably slow speed and I saw them making a move that was clearly one caused by being surprised by the big thing moving past them. The same happens when I spot an emergency vehicle behind me and I put on my hazard lights to let the driver of the emergency vehicle know I saw them and won't make a move, and I see people behind me be like "Hazard lights, why? Why do you have those on...what's happening that requires you to...HOLY SHIT there's an ambulance!" *makes panic-fueled move to a different lane the ambulance (or whatever vehicle) actually didn't need but scared them nonetheless*. Typically I also move to the far right of the right most lane since in some cases on the highway, during traffic jams, the left of you is where motorcyclists will try to pass and I was taught to give them at least a bit more room. (Unfortunately there's also the motorcyclists who think that when everything is driving 50-60km/h instead of 100km/h is still a traffic jam and do it like that, which is when I'm not moving over and I typically give them a gesture of "Are you out of your mind or something?" Not great behavior from me as a car driver I get that, but it's people like that that I feel will sometimes end up in a serious accident because they for some reason feel invincible on a motorcycle, and unfortunately take someone with them, fatal or not.) Unfortunately people seem to be taking part in traffic less and less and are busy with completely different things. If not their phone than just driving completely unaware of their surroundings.
Die fragliche in animierter Form kannst du u.a. hier sehen : www.fahrschule.de/Fragenkatalog/1.2.38-104 :-)
I didn't see any with "that idiot". You know the one . . . emergency vehicle is cruising through heavy traffic . . . "that idiot" gets behind the vehicle and follows ten feet behind them so they can get through traffic easier.
Carl Bruschnig, Jr No, but in the very first video you had a guy get in *front* of the truck's and drive in their cleared path. I think that should count.
@@EnjoyFirefighting To be fair, some of the people who didn't move were being blocked by other people who weren't moving, cause in some of these videos the people blocking the emergency vehicles had traffic in front of them, traffic to their right, and a guard rail to their left. So it's hard sometimes for people to know what do you do in this scenario.
Well none of them is recorded in Britain and they don't have that stupid traffic law in e.g. Germany. You'd rather get a ticket if you don't proceed through the red light
Looks like a Paramount Group Marauder. They are capable of driving over civilian vehicles as tested by Richard Hammond on Top Gear. Surprised how self-centered and ballsy those people are, that thing isn't easy to see out of and would absolutely kill you if ran them over.
I'll be the bad guy here.. I once moved out of the way slowly trying to make way for the ambulance.. but a guy didn't see me and crashed on the back of my car. Just so we're clear letting emergency vehicules is important but it's risky for us too.. even more at a red light when you need to move forward to let them past..Of course this doesn't apply to all cases cause some people are just stupid to block them.. but please don't put all the blame on us the drivers. We all share the same road, both side needs to do there best.
When there’s an emergency vehicle approaching an intersection all traffic most stop until the emergency vehicle passes through you are allowed to move through the red if you are the car blocking it’s path and you have no choice. Most people don’t understand this and still drive through the green lights when everyone must stop and make way.
@@sweetheartmashupsbabe Just remember all rules go out the window your main jobs to get out of the way even if it mean going through a red just do it safely.
Traffic doesn't just evaporate when they turn on their sirens. The main problem is that drivers don't leave enough space between cars to manoeuvre. And everyone who drives is guilty of that; even keyboard warriors.
when they don't move so close up to the car in front that they are able to read the other car's navigation system, there would be sufficient space to move aside even in heavy traffic... especially on the freeway, there's absolutely no excuse for not creating sufficient space when you are supposed to do so no matter if there's an approaching emergency vehicle or not
I noticed when driving in bigger cities like stockholm if you leave space infront of your vehicle ppl tend to force themselfs in there just tonget one car ahead, so a general attitude change in traffic might be needed
Another issue is during the night. At least in Norway. Yes, id like to get the hell out of the way. But i also would like to not run over a dozen idiots who all wear black during the time there is no natural light.
Blah I don't say that you should keep several car length distance between you and the vehicle in front of you in a traffic jam, but a half to one car length would be sufficient to move over if needed and without making the traffic jams unnecessarily long
micheal johnson would have been sweet to see them use it as it was intended. Go anywhere over anything hell yeah fuck traffic when you can drive right over it LMAO 😎
Well, if you, as a driver, stop so close to the vehicle in front, then of course you can not leave in case of an emergency. Always keep so much space between your car and the vorie that you can still see the ground. That will give a lot of improvement for the emergency carriages. The traffic regulations say: "never drive a junction if it is not free, this also applies to traffic jams. Wenn Sie als Fahrer so nahe am vorausfahrenden Fahrzeug stehen, können Sie im Notfall natürlich nicht gehen. Behalte immer so viel Platz zwischen deinem Auto und der Vore, dass du immer noch den Boden sehen kannst. Das wird den Notfallwagen viel Besserung bringen. Die Verkehrsordnung sagt: "Fahren Sie niemals eine Kreuzung, wenn sie nicht frei ist, das gilt auch für Staus.
NO! One of the stupidest things you can do in traffic is leave a car length or two car links between you and the car in front of you at a stoplight that is the stupidest moronic thing I've ever seen it's equal to about 20 other things I see while driving there's no reason for it you pull up closer to that car give other cars room if you're in a small town and there's like 15 cars do whatever the f*** you want but in a big city you don't leave big giant Gap so people can literally Drive between you and the other car or pull in in front of you and take that space up you idiot Bunch up closer so more cars can stop at the light you don't need a traffic light where the cars are stopped for the next six blocks back and they're stopping at green lights because they're so far back from people leaving the big gap wrong wrong stupid
Germany is supposed to follow a rule/law, that you have to get out of the way no matter when you hear a emergency vehicle.... Some people fail but most people do it 👍🏻
Actually in Germany it is the law that when traffic stops or moves slowly you have to make room for emergency vehicles to pass ready in case it is needed. It is not something you do only when you hear or see the emergency vehicles....
I don’t see many examples of people intentionally blocking emergency vehicles here. If you are sitting in traffic and suddenly there’s sirens and flashing lights behind you it’s not always possible to immediately get out of the way.
In Germany you are supposed to move out of the way to make room for emergency vehicles automatically every time the traffic is slow or stopping, not just when there is an actual emergency...
EnjoyFirefighting - International Emergency Response Videos in my honest opinion the European sirens are the best in the world, especially the Dutch and german, the Italian ambulance siren is Pretty effective to.
I hope when these "blockers" need ambulance or firefighter help = they don't get help in time... I have drive red lights for emergency vehicle can pass me fast and SAFE... Some (read most of people) dont have any sense what happening on the road..They are just "happy" and cluelest...
2:16 LMAO, WTF IS THAT BEAST! HAHAHAHA, Dude, form the thumbnail I thought THAT was the "idiot" blocking the emergency vehicle because it's this big-ass hummer looking thing. But, no, it IS the emergency vehicle, hahaha, whata-twist~ XD
In the clip from 5:12 you can see that the police van isn't really held up by the truck in particularly. They know they can't pass the truck so they keep distance, don't push very much and wait until there is room for them to pass. They usually do that on a 1x2 lanes road.
It the USA emergency vehicles just drive on the wrong side of the road if they need to, but lucky people usually don't block them over here, I've never seen that happen before. Even in congested traffic people still some how manage to move out of their way.
I followed an vehicle for 12 miles full lights and siren he had ample opportunity to move to right lane fortunatley another EMS unit got to scene, I got to pull aboce driver over and he lost his commercial drivers license for life as he had been ticketed for other serious offenses as well.
That’s awesome it’s like that where you live. Sadly, around DC, Southern Maryland, and Northern Virginia, it happens all the time! There are 3 things that occur regularly on the road around here that people don’t understand and become horribly confused to the point that they end curled up in the fetal position sucking their thumb while sobbing like a little girl with a skinned knee... Rain, turn signals, and light and sirens from emergency vehicles!
I can almost understand a driver panicking in a super crowded big city street with a firetruck behind them sirens blazing, maybe causing them to take longer to move because they don't know what to do.. but those pedestrians just casually strolling in front of a freakin' MRAP like its blue strobes were 3,000 lumen walk signs... the audacity is mindblowing.
well it might seem strange, but these pedestrians actually didn't cause any delays to the SWAT truck; Even if they waited the SWAT truck didn't have any chance to move on
Watice R just like any other wail and yelp siren it fails to fulfill the acoustic requirements to be used on public on our roads ... that's why we run the hi-lo sirens.
does that apply to private ambulances only? Here, emergency responders are exempt from most vehicle traffic laws when responding to an emergency. We wouldn't expect a firetruck to wait at every red light, and we certainly wouldn't ticket them for their decibel levels. It seems to be a really well thought out compromise that works well.
Watice R no, it applies for ALL emergency vehicles, no matter which type and from which organization. I can look up the specific requirements after my shift today
Actually if people die because of rescue workers not getting there on time because of idiots blocking the road. It might be for the best if driver license is suspended or they are arrested for murder (because it's their fault that one died then. But it would be much to bad for it).
DutchTimeGames the driver who not give way or blocking should be arrest and revoke their licence plus ban them for driving any motor vehicles for the lifetime
there should be a mad max looking vehicles with bulldozer blades or v plow blades that clear the roads ahead of emergency vehicles you don't get out of the way fast enough you get moved and if you survive you get a very expensive ticket and 6 months in jail...may be then people will get smarter
Bruh. If lights and sirens are on, you always know it's an emergency unit responding and you should ALWAYS be quick to hear the sirens and get out of the way ASAP because police and ambulances are WICKED fast and the same goes to firetrucks. ALWAYS have your ears open and LISTEN for those sirens and get out of the way as quick as possible and NEVER be a jackass to prevent emergency vehicles from responding to the calls they get. We rely on our EMTS, Police Officers, and FireFighters to SAVE LIVES and PROTECT our planet.
Many of these so called "idiots" are actually trying to get out of the way, but with nowhere to go, they cant... Some on the other hand are not... What I don't get is why (firetrucks in particular) don't just move them by force.
Most people after getting their driver's license almost instantly forget some of the basic rules of driving up to a traffic light: Keep at least some distance to the person in front so you can make a turn by turning your wheel fully left or right in case you need to move out of that lane without hitting the person in front. And while it's a bit different from regular cars, I always make sure when getting up behind an emergency vehicle that they can back up at least half a car in distance so that if they get a call while waiting they can move. My driving instructor for the normal car mentioned that that among with regularly (or as he said it "religiously") checking your mirrors are some of the first things people stop doing.
If you see ANY siren lights behind you on your mirror, pull over and stop IMMEDIATELY. Even if it looks like a cop pulling someone over far FAR behind you. Cops don’t always use their siren. To avoid alerting their presence to a hostage or hostile situation before they arrive to scene. Was driving home one night on a secluded city road and i saw some siren lights appear way back, but thought it was just someone speeding back there or something. Since no sirens or stop light white lights were on, but I soon realized that the sirens were rapidly getting closer, I pulled to the side and stopped like a Hollywood stuntman. Incognito cop, gotta be ready for those anytime anywhere.
Morti Finkenbein or.... Give them 3 seconds to move and if they dont atleast try shoot them right in the face.... With atleast a rubber bullet. A real one would work better tho...
A lot of these seems to be of people actually moving over to the best of their ability. Keep in mind, people might not exactly be expecting an emergency vehicle coming through and gets caught by surprise by the flashing light show directly behind them.
to be honest: this doesn't look like as if they were really trying ... and there wasn't a situation where they came out of nowhere by approaching the intersection of vehicles ahead silently and then suddenly switched their sirens on (okay, the one at 7:36 didn't even try to get through there). Some of the drivers obviously blocked them intentionally, not caring about the traffic laws ... This is how it looks when people really try to move over: ruclips.net/video/QtrHvGFhLWE/видео.html
People tend to film them and in doing that every little mistake that gets made ends up on the internet costing them jobs etc, if you had someone looking over your shoulder all day watching what you were doing how'd you feel? Not that I particularly have a problem with the people recording but they need to realize we all have a job to do.
working on such a job you always have to count on being recorded, especially on scene of an emergency. No matter if there are by-standers or news reporters. Standing alongside the streets and filming them driving with lights and sirens shouldn't be a problem. Yes, one of my videos probably did cost someone's job already ... some years after I uploaded it, it became public that the recorded organization had no permission to run an emergency vehicle with lights and sirens, atleast not in that specific case. Apart from that: I had a camera looking over my shoulder for some time, as my boss mounted cameras inside of our ambulances. I had no problem with it at all
It's sad to see this world wide. It's the mentality people these day's carry. It's pure selfishness. It's the same people that hate on emergency responders but at the slightest of inconvenience cry the hardest for them.
People walking in front of that vehicle at 2.17 are obviously not very wise. They might see that the vehicle's path is blocked but fail to appreciate the driver's sight lines and the elevated position of the driver means seeing them and knowing they are even there is a challenge or maybe even an impossibility.
What I see in this video is 80% of the people really trying to get out of the way of the emergency vehicles as fast as they can... but they're still in a jam. I don't know why so much hate in the comment section.
as fast as they can? Did you watch another video? Most people here refused to move out of the way, refused to stop, and some refused to stop and thus blocked other vehicles which tried to get out of the way. Many drivers in this compilation don't drive through the red traffic light or onto the sidewalk or median ...
3:36 Moron has no one in his way, just sits there. I pulled through a red light in front of a Cop, to let an Ambulance by me. It's Okay to get out of the way. No ticket.
Its frustrating, but what people can do to give them space, they can't put their vehicles in air or anything There should be extra lane for emergencies vehicle only
I remember these 4 cars blocking a fire truck and the place had 3 people trapped inside the apartment so they pushed the 4 cars out of the way because they wouldn't move. Just fucking move lesson of the story.
I love how Ambulences in the UK have to use their car horn's to get traffic to move out of the way. That's why American emergency vehicles have loud blaring electronic synthesized horn noises to blast at stubborn drivers.
SliverTheSpoony01 to be honest I prefer the normal car horn; we had such an electronic airhorn as part of our Federal Signal siren system and it wasn't effective at all...
SliverTheSpoony01 here's an example of a German police car, the 2nd one had to honk at the car in front of it by using the plain normal car horn: ruclips.net/video/C1YM9C7r8jA/видео.html
SliverTheSpoony01 we have real air powered airhirns, too, but only few departments purchase them since the Martin horn siren basicly is an airhorn: ruclips.net/video/JV7zVcvt0dM/видео.html But the electronic airhorns are just poor and hardly any department here has them
timid sirens? Someof them, like those in the first clip, are as loud as a Federal Signal Q. But both the Q and Rumbler, just like any other wail and yelp siren, fail to meet the acoustic requirements to be used on public roads in Germany. And concerning airhorns: while they aren't on every emergency vehicle, many fire apparatus and some EMS vehicles do have horns
we've actually talked about this before, about 4 days ago. I understand but it's interesting that there are no exceptions to the "acoustic requirements" for emergency vehicles. For example, here's a video of both EMS and police responding in my city, which has A LOT of traffic. ruclips.net/video/3MWPaDqDI2Q/видео.html
well, there are no exceptions since the requirements are requirements for a reason. There are norms and laws. Thus in Germany only the hi-lo sirens meet those requirements. When emergency vehicles would use a wail / yelp sirens and are involved in an accident, the insurance wouldn't have to cover the damages / costs. In some other country only wail and yelp might be legal. In the USA you can hear both ... I filmed some emergency vehicles in NYC as well, sometimes I filmed one emergency vehicle twice within minutes because I was faster walking past than it proceeding through traffic
wow, that's really interesting. It's the complete opposite here on everything you said. Our exceptions are written into the law. It's in the traffic laws, you cannot give a traffic ticket to a firefighter for the lights/sirens, going past a red light, etc. Also, the sirens help prove to the insurance company that it was hard not to see or hear the emergency vehicle. It's interesting that over there the insurance won't cover you for having sirens like ours because you would think that would HELP avoid an accident. The traffic though is something that can't be fixed that easily. We are working on it though, as they are planning on putting a toll on entering congested areas of downtown NYC.
well, our emergency services don't have to pay tickets from red light cameras when they were responding with emergency lights and sirens. And don't twist the things I said, please! I did NOT say, that the insurance wouldn't pay when we used siren and are still involved in an acciden! That's only the case when we would use a siren which isn't legal here, a siren which doesn't meet (how often did I say this already?) meet the acoustics requirements. This counts for ALL wail and yelp sirens, including ones like the Q or Rumbler. Correct, sirens should make an emergency vehicle recognizable to other traffic participants ... so we use sirens when it's necessary, but the only ones we use are hi-lo sirens. There are so many toll stations on American roads already. Bridge tolls, tunnel tolls, whatever tolls ... apart from commercial truck traffic which has to pay a highway toll (toll systems in the trucks, terminals at gas stations), there isn't a single toll station on German roads: not on highways or in the cities, not on bridges or tunnels
@@EnjoyFirefighting Lol, I was just joking because it looks similar to American garbage trucks. So it really carry’s extinguishing powder? How’s that work, they spray it like snow or something? I’ve never heard of that.
@@LuckyCharms777 Got that already, just wanted to explain what kind of apparatus it is. Yes it carries powder, similar to what is used in the small plain normal fire extinguishers you see in apartment buildings, public buildings etc. just in a way larger scale; There are different types of extinguishing powders for different types of fire classifications and hazards they pose. But to be honest I'm not too deep into that topic. That kind of special equipment is mostly used by industrial fire departments and rather few municipal fire departments. As the Free and Hanseatic City and city state of Hamburg has lots of industries especially around the extensive port area it makes sense for the local fire department to supply all the rarely required special operations equipment like this one
@@EnjoyFirefighting Ah, cool, that makes sense. Just like fire departments needing the foam truck for certain chemical fires. Thanks for informing me of its use.
Outside our fire station are traffic lights that specifically operate when the fire station gets the alert, so at least no worries getting out of the station. I'll be honest, I thought the one at 4:41 was a dustbin lorry 6:58 had four behind him, maybe he was deaf.
4:41 that's a Pod Carrier with a special equipment pod "extinguishing powder" 6:58 probably heard the siren, but thought it would come from the oncoming emergency vehicle and thus simply didn't notice that there are more right behind him
People don't understand, you are allowed to safely break traffic laws to let an emergency vehicle pass. If you have to go through a red light to let an emergency vehicle pass, you should do so.
et's go through this scene by scene:
0:00 sirens blaring for quite some time already but oncoming left turning traffic still enters the intersection and vehicles in front of the fire trucks took ages until they finally moved through the red traffic light, into the intersection, or drove up the sidewalk or median
0:36 while the black VW Polo moved to the center line which is allright, neither the grey Audi ahead, nor the black Opel or black BMW in the next lane moved to let the riot police van pass; They grey Audi was in the intersection but didn't move any further for quite a long time
1:19 all the vehicles in the left lane are idiots, simple as that. The illuminated traffic boards above the left lane say that it's shut down and no vehicle is allowed to drive there, yet it was packed with dozens of vehicles. Thus the Engine had to fight its way through traffic and the co-driver even had to get out of the truck to direct the driver
2:14 that SWAT truck took longer just to get from one Avenue to the next Avenue than we take all the way from the station to the scene; No vehicle ahead of it moved aside and pedestrians also walked across right in front of it
2:48 you hear that desperate switching between siren tones and honking of the horn. I ran more than 110 meters to the intersection and only as I got there the first vehicles finally started moving over
3:12 what a dickhead in the dark-red Opel.
At that point the Command Car went the other direction and drove around the entire block
4:13 the black VW sedan basically did the right thing as the Engine performed a u-turn, but he didn't drive far enough; That's where the Engine flashed the headlights and switched the siren on again
4:36 both drivers of the old and new silver Mercedes were driving into the intersection, but then simply stopped there in a matter where the special operations apparatus wasn't able to proceed or get around them at all; It took some sweet time until they finally moved on
5:12 neither vehicles ahead of the police car nor oncoming traffic tried to move over; Sure it's more difficult in a construction zone, but there definetly was space, just look at the chevron marked area to the side of the oncoming lane, traffic could easily have moved there; Also the vehicles in front of the police car could easily have pulled over into the bus stop, roundabout or road section before actually entering that construction zone. I recorded a driver of a semi truck doing so, so it definetly IS possible
5:22 the fire truck turned on the siren as soon as he left the station, still it took lots of airhorn honking to get traffic moving at the intersection
5:40 that Highway Patrol car had such difficulties to get through that he flashed his headlights more than 60 (!) times at vehicles ahead
5:58 also the state police patrol car in this clip was required to grab the attention by flashing headlights multiple times
6:10 drivers in that situation are supposed to clear and maintain an emergency corridor between the lanes; Although they somehow did move over sooner or later, most of them went back into the middle of their own lane right after the Engine passed. In such an emergency with multiple emergency vehicles responding that makes response times unnecessarily slow. Just look at some of the semi trucks standing close to the lane dividing line and only start moving over as the fire engine is right up on their ass, flashing headlights at them. Same thing with the car drivers in the fast lane
6:36 While the grey Seat reacted as the saw that this might be an option for the ambulance go get around, the ambulance had to switch between siren tones and honk at the driver of the blue VW to finally move
6:54 driver of the black VW not aware of his surrounding. While only paying attention at oncoming emergency vehicles blocking his path (as he intended to turn left into a driveway) he completly missed an entire convoy of emergency vehicles approaching him from behind with lights and sirens as well
7:09 the dark Audi not reacting onto the state police patrol car waiting behind him, flashing headlights and honking besides the constantly running siren
7:20 that unmarked Port Authority Police Department car didn't even try to proceed in that street, seeing no chance to get through as drivers were blocking it completly
7:40 Engine leaving the station and switching the siren on right away. The car turning right did proceed, but on the following 2 lane section he simply kept blocking the Engine and that's where they sounded the airhorn at him
7:53 again the ambulance needs to honk at drivers to finally clear a path
8:09 another ambulance, with drivers ahead either not moving, or first moving into wrong spots and a police officer needed to tell them to keep on moving into the intersection
8:25 as all drivers in the road didn't move over, this command van from the FD decided to drive down the sidewalk and bikelane instead
8:40 this fire truck required a walking escort in front of him, shouting at people so they actually move out of the way for the fire truck
9:05 sure a messy situation when the road ahead is blocked, but drivers then simply should choose another route instead of standing there blocking all traffic. Took some sweet time until the rescue truck actually reached the intersection
9:39 ambulance fighting its way through traffic, took like 20 minutes just to drive down this road. It's the same location like at 8:25 ... as you can see it has turned dark by then and drivers were still blocking the road although they knew emergency vehicles were coming
9:55 maybe the scene where drivers might be the least to blame due to high curbs directly on the bridge, however right before/after the bridge the curb is much lower and people should simply drive up onto the sidewalk to give way
10:53 lights and sirens right behind him and the driver of the white Skoda simply stopped right in front of the ambulance
11:07 damn that took long until drivers finally moved to the left and right; The curb is super low on that bridge, it would have been so easy to just drive up onto the sidewalk. The ambulance took more than 2 minutes to move 500 m ...
Blocking riot poloce vans? Kinda based and redpilled ngl
2:48 oh man i can hear the nervousness in the sirem switches

Absolute rubbish. Where do you expect people to move to when road planners have narrowed lanes down and built high pavements in an attempt to cause congestion/pollution.
@@Bond2025 I empathize about the planners, just look at commonly referred to “spaghetti bowls” & other highway exchanges. However, there are ways as was evidence by this very video. Refusing to even try to get out of the way for emergency vehicles running lights/siren is criminal, morally vapid & entitled.
In Germany in a small village a few people once filed a noise complaint against the Fire-station and told them to "Extinguish the fire quietly"
DESERVED. I hoipe he lost his licence and job. If I see ANY kinds of blue lights I pull to the right without hestitation and stop if needed.
I hope he got bankrupted with the amount of tickets i hope he actually got

Its crazy, every government should enact a law whereby any emergency vehicles being purposely blocked should be given the power to forcibly move vehicles from their path.... The onus is on the driver(s) in the way to pay for any damages suffered !
As far as I know the Fire engines can do that
In my country the fire department at times knocks cars that might be near an official parking spot but are not parked in it very well out of the way, or knock a mirror off if that's what it means to at least pass in some way or another.
Fire trucks can if they happen to be in a fire lane. They have full permission to go OVER a car if they're in the way as long as they're in a fire lane.
2:15 I like how there is freaking SWAT truck driving by and people of NYC are crossing the road like nothing is happening. XD

I swear... im always the ONLy one going out of my way to clear a path. If im in the left lane, i swing over to the left and vice versa. and im always sitting there looking at other ppl like "get over!!".
idk... people just dont know things anymore
Sein Maestro - Or, if it’s anything like NYC drivers and their arrogance, they just don’t care.
(Unfortunately there's also the motorcyclists who think that when everything is driving 50-60km/h instead of 100km/h is still a traffic jam and do it like that, which is when I'm not moving over and I typically give them a gesture of "Are you out of your mind or something?" Not great behavior from me as a car driver I get that, but it's people like that that I feel will sometimes end up in a serious accident because they for some reason feel invincible on a motorcycle, and unfortunately take someone with them, fatal or not.)
Unfortunately people seem to be taking part in traffic less and less and are busy with completely different things. If not their phone than just driving completely unaware of their surroundings.
The driver of the car blocking the fire truck found out it was their house that burned to the ground because they were blocking the fire truck.
Oh Lord! But I guess he will not blocking them anymore

Die fragliche in animierter Form kannst du u.a. hier sehen :

I didn't see any with "that idiot". You know the one . . . emergency vehicle is cruising through heavy traffic . . . "that idiot" gets behind the vehicle and follows ten feet behind them so they can get through traffic easier.

No, but in the very first video you had a guy get in *front* of the truck's and drive in their cleared path. I think that should count.
99% of the videos people did there best to get out of the way
Bailey unfortunately they didn't ... looks a bit different when people really try to do so
@@EnjoyFirefighting To be fair, some of the people who didn't move were being blocked by other people who weren't moving, cause in some of these videos the people blocking the emergency vehicles had traffic in front of them, traffic to their right, and a guard rail to their left. So it's hard sometimes for people to know what do you do in this scenario.
In Britain if you drive through a red light to let an emergency vehicle past you can be prosecuted. You can't win.
Well none of them is recorded in Britain and they don't have that stupid traffic law in e.g. Germany. You'd rather get a ticket if you don't proceed through the red light

At red lights they just go around most times right?
When there’s an emergency vehicle approaching an intersection all traffic most stop until the emergency vehicle passes through you are allowed to move through the red if you are the car blocking it’s path and you have no choice. Most people don’t understand this and still drive through the green lights when everyone must stop and make way.

Traffic doesn't just evaporate when they turn on their sirens. The main problem is that drivers don't leave enough space between cars to manoeuvre. And everyone who drives is guilty of that; even keyboard warriors.
when they don't move so close up to the car in front that they are able to read the other car's navigation system, there would be sufficient space to move aside even in heavy traffic... especially on the freeway, there's absolutely no excuse for not creating sufficient space when you are supposed to do so no matter if there's an approaching emergency vehicle or not
I noticed when driving in bigger cities like stockholm if you leave space infront of your vehicle ppl tend to force themselfs in there just tonget one car ahead, so a general attitude change in traffic might be needed
its hard to coordinate with 20 other people to get out of the way when you cant communicate with them
Another issue is during the night.

Clearly 5 stars.
NO! One of the stupidest things you can do in traffic is leave a car length or two car links between you and the car in front of you at a stoplight that is the stupidest moronic thing I've ever seen it's equal to about 20 other things I see while driving there's no reason for it you pull up closer to that car give other cars room if you're in a small town and there's like 15 cars do whatever the f*** you want but in a big city you don't leave big giant Gap so people can literally Drive between you and the other car or pull in in front of you and take that space up you idiot Bunch up closer so more cars can stop at the light you don't need a traffic light where the cars are stopped for the next six blocks back and they're stopping at green lights because they're so far back from people leaving the big gap wrong wrong stupid

not all of theseare idiots they just dont have anywhere to go and nobody want to hit other veicules.
most of them are, if everyone would move just a bit it's easy to clear a path for emergency vehicles even if you are in heavy traffic
If they don't even have a little bit of room to move to the side, they are to close in the first place
And you can also, in most countries, legally run a red light if you can't clear the path for an emergency vehicle.

European sires sound more like some crappy aftermarket car alarm. Lol

In the clip from 5:12 you can see that the police van isn't really held up by the truck in particularly. They know they can't pass the truck so they keep distance, don't push very much and wait until there is room for them to pass. They usually do that on a 1x2 lanes road.
That's what I mentioned in the vidoe description as well. It's not always the other drivers fault
Naah, trust me the Norwegian law enforcement are too soft and too nice! That’s our problem!
It the USA emergency vehicles just drive on the wrong side of the road if they need to, but lucky people usually don't block them over here, I've never seen that happen before. Even in congested traffic people still some how manage to move out of their way.
unfortunately I experienced sth else during my stays in the USA
I followed an vehicle for 12 miles full lights and siren he had ample opportunity to move to right lane fortunatley another EMS unit got to scene, I got to pull aboce driver over and he lost his commercial drivers license for life as he had been ticketed for other serious offenses as well.
because if people are to stupid to make way on their side of the road, certainly the people driving in the opposite way will make way lol...
I can almost understand a driver panicking in a super crowded big city street with a firetruck behind them sirens blazing, maybe causing them to take longer to move because they don't know what to do.. but those pedestrians just casually strolling in front of a freakin' MRAP like its blue strobes were 3,000 lumen walk signs... the audacity is mindblowing.
well it might seem strange, but these pedestrians actually didn't cause any delays to the SWAT truck; Even if they waited the SWAT truck didn't have any chance to move on
Give those Germans some rumblers. LOL and maybe some better lights.
I guess there's a tiny problem with the rumbler siren ...
?? what's the problem with a rumbler? we've been using it in NYC for almost 10 years now and it's a great improvement.
8:25...got that siren from the first Zelda on NES
Actually if people die because of rescue workers not getting there on time because of idiots blocking the road. It might be for the best if driver license is suspended or they are arrested for murder (because it's their fault that one died then. But it would be much to bad for it).
DutchTimeGames not how murder works but i do agree they should have their license suspended for a while
DutchTimeGames
the driver who not give way or blocking should be arrest and revoke their licence plus ban them for driving any motor vehicles for the lifetime
BIG fines here in Australia for blocking emergency vehicles or even speeding past them at an accident. Fair enough too.
there should be a mad max looking vehicles with bulldozer blades or v plow blades that clear the roads ahead of emergency vehicles you don't get out of the way fast enough you get moved and if you survive you get a very expensive ticket and 6 months in jail...may be then people will get smarter
mikel runnels the whole point of emergency vehicles in guarantee of survival.... no there shouldn’t...
mikel runnels there should only be a suspension of a license....
Yeah because people don't drive when their DL get suspended
What I don't get is why (firetrucks in particular) don't just move them by force.
not being able to move out of the way is just a poor excuse in most cases for not really trying to do so
Most people after getting their driver's license almost instantly forget some of the basic rules of driving up to a traffic light: Keep at least some distance to the person in front so you can make a turn by turning your wheel fully left or right in case you need to move out of that lane without hitting the person in front.
Suspend drivers licenses of all people who block the way of police, fire department or EMS for 3 months and the world will soon be a better place!
Morti Finkenbein or.... Give them 3 seconds to move and if they dont atleast try shoot them right in the face.... With atleast a rubber bullet. A real one would work better tho...
William Adams Then you’re worse than those drivers are...
This is how it looks when people really try to move over:
ruclips.net/video/QtrHvGFhLWE/видео.html
I dunno what's worse the people not moving or the bored people recording every emergency vehicle they see
what's your problem about people filming emergency vehicles?
I had no problem with it at all
never heard so many different emergency sounds before. its p interesting tbh
8:25 must be cold, even the siren is shivering
that's the plain normal siren sound, it has a tremolo tuning in one of the two frequencies
Sometimes they use the siren for no reasons
at least we don't, because every single siren usage is recorded
It's sad to see this world wide. It's the mentality people these day's carry. It's pure selfishness. It's the same people that hate on emergency responders but at the slightest of inconvenience cry the hardest for them.
There's a fricken tank of a truck trying to get through and people casually walk in front of it...
What's that thing at 2:37? What sort of dumpy country has something like that rolling through the streets?
That's a FBI Swat Truck from the USA
People walking in front of that vehicle at 2.17 are obviously not very wise. They might see that the vehicle's path is blocked but fail to appreciate the driver's sight lines and the elevated position of the driver means seeing them and knowing they are even there is a challenge or maybe even an impossibility.
A lot of these drivers have more patience than I do .
How frustrating for them ... 😔
Hi YAY musical Tone in 6:38 to 6:45 Yeah its very awesome!
2:56 which siren is that?
3:36 Moron has no one in his way, just sits there. I pulled through a red light in front of a Cop, to let an Ambulance by me. It's Okay to get out of the way. No ticket.
what vehicle is that at the @ the 2:35 mark?
that's a heavy armored FBI SWAT truck in Midtown Manhattan
Its frustrating, but what people can do to give them space, they can't put their vehicles in air or anything
There should be extra lane for emergencies vehicle only
Watching this reminds me of the people in just stop oil blocking streets and vandalizing.
I remember these 4 cars blocking a fire truck and the place had 3 people trapped inside the apartment so they pushed the 4 cars out of the way because they wouldn't move. Just fucking move lesson of the story.
Wasn't that when Toronto PD blocked the road so the fire truck had to push them forwards, then hit a BMW?
0:39 are ambulances or emergency vehicles not allowed to counterflow or drive on the other side on emergency situations?
they areallowed to, but it's not always an option especially at dangerous intersections with blind spots and traffic movign at a high speed
SliverTheSpoony01 in contrast to that the electronic airhorn from our ambulance: ruclips.net/video/NeCZr_BCSNU/видео.html
okay but check out the US noise makers on these New Yorkers ruclips.net/video/as7PUfMJ9mw/видео.htmlm10s
SliverTheSpoony01 we have real air powered airhirns, too, but only few departments purchase them since the Martin horn siren basicly is an airhorn: ruclips.net/video/JV7zVcvt0dM/видео.html
But the electronic airhorns are just poor and hardly any department here has them
theres a special place in hell for those who blocks emergency vehicles
these are some of the most timid sirens i've ever seen & heard, that's why people aren't getting out of the way. you guys need airhorns & rumblers.
timid sirens?
I have no idea how somebody would not be able to see a big ass armored truck rolling down the street
Right I would be scrambling to get out of the way.
if you quickly click different parts of the video , you can really get a good symphony going with all the sirens ( that sounds ridiculous i might add)
Good job...👍👍👍👏👏
Just hope when the need is your own loved one, friend or family they wont be delayed by someone like you!!!
4:37 Why isn’t anybody getting out of the way of that emergency garbage truck?! 😂
because that garbage truck carries extinguishing powder ;)
@@EnjoyFirefighting Lol, I was just joking because it looks similar to American garbage trucks. So it really carry’s extinguishing powder? How’s that work, they spray it like snow or something? I’ve never heard of that.
@@LuckyCharms777 Got that already, just wanted to explain what kind of apparatus it is. Yes it carries powder, similar to what is used in the small plain normal fire extinguishers you see in apartment buildings, public buildings etc. just in a way larger scale;
There are different types of extinguishing powders for different types of fire classifications and hazards they pose.
@@EnjoyFirefighting
Ah, cool, that makes sense. Just like fire departments needing the foam truck for certain chemical fires. Thanks for informing me of its use.
Outside our fire station are traffic lights that specifically operate when the fire station gets the alert, so at least no worries getting out of the station.
I'll be honest, I thought the one at 4:41 was a dustbin lorry
6:58 had four behind him, maybe he was deaf.
4:41 that's a Pod Carrier with a special equipment pod "extinguishing powder"
6:58 probably heard the siren, but thought it would come from the oncoming emergency vehicle and thus simply didn't notice that there are more right behind him
$1000 fine for each of these drivers! Proven in absence via dash cam video. Easy money, valuable lessons.
Some/most of the people blocking emergency vehicles '' What do the blue /red flashing lights and sirens mean again''
What is that vehicle at 2:30 - 2:45? It is awesome. Does anyone know the manufacturer or who makes them?
MRAP by what other folks said in the comments.
So, if you search MRAP - could give you info then.
People don't understand, you are allowed to safely break traffic laws to let an emergency vehicle pass. If you have to go through a red light to let an emergency vehicle pass, you should do so.
