Love how they have to keep the boat powered into the wall, to stop the recoil from those HUGE cannons! #THEFLOWISREAL
actually, the motors are running the pumps.

@@Driver-dg9lw you are probably right, jet drives have become very popular recently, for good reason. Especially Hamilton

I help build the FDNY FIRE BOATS , there powerful with 3 Allison V12 powerhouse engines, and are considered the Baddest, Fastest, FireBoat on the planet , Im proud to see her in ACTION and proud to be on the team that built her and 2 Boats just like her, We used Scarp Steel the was part of the World Trade Center and everyone who was part of the Ship Build built Her with Respect and Hard Work and Perfection She Deserved. With the Fire Captains of Each ship making a Trip down her to Panama City, Fl . And being a part of the build , The City Of NEW YORK Has The Worlds Best Fire Boats ever Created on this Planet.
Thank you for building such a beautiful boat.
Awesome, thanks for your work.
Mike ! Come on ...?
Awesome! Scarp steel is hard to come by.
What
WOW, this is water power!!!
love your vids
Talk about hitting it hard from the yard!!! Bravo guys!!
Yes I know bravo 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Dude those fire boats are the 50 cal of firehoses
Bringing the cannons to the battle!
@@ffandrewd2986 Some cases they have a PTO off of the boat's engines...Diesel straight 6's, larger boats have 1 or 2, an auxilary. Some have 4! Mercy, and US ships use nuclear reactors, or huge diesel engines, and electric or hydraulic type stuff. Its pretty gnarly.
@@kbtechandmedia Look into Fifi vessels used on offshore service/standby vessels for the oil field and LNG terminals. Most anchor handling tugs and work boats are fifi1, but the more dedicated standby vessels have Fifi 2 or 3 and the requirements are immense. Fifi 2 and 3 require 3-4 monitors and have to supply 31,000 and 42,200gpm, respectively. As well as shoot about 110meters vertically to hit derricks. Simply crazy stuff. They also require 3-4 individual pumps, and like you said usually ran from 1000 hp diesels, or if using electric motors they need auxillary generators, and the emergency generator has to run at least half the pumps for DNV OSV rules
That fire boat pilot is showing some skill keeping that boat nosed against that dock, with the screws at power and holding that thing stationary like that.......cool to see 👍
Why do they keep the nose against the dock? The pumps are doing their jobs keeping the water so strong! I love how the fire boast can pump so much water with power!
Saw my answer in another comment!
@@chuckengle1922 I’m a novice and don’t know squat, but I would imagine that since the nozzles exert so much pressure, they would have the effect of pushing the boat back out away from their stationing. Therefore, they put the nose against the shore/dock/whatever and keep the engines pushing the boat against the barrier so that the platform stays stationary and in correct position….. but I’m truly just guessing.
@@chuckengle1922 Spinning the screws also helps with pump most likely sounds like he was able to change Cycle and ask for more Rpm
Rare is an understatement, this is beyond rare
Awesome footage btw
I find that the word "rare" on videos like these are overused, so when there's TRULY a rare occasion like this, nobody sees it! Great catch by the way
Like the "white noise" of PASS alarms.
Great footage of rarely seen FDNY equipment: boats and drones! I am still waiting to see one of the "Special" monitors in action.
I love seeing the fireboats in use! Marine 343 is beautiful.
Hahah those boats sure are beautiful. This is Firefighter II (Marine 9) not 343!
@@FDNYResponseVideos I did not know the FDNY had another LARGE fireboat like Marine 1 (343)! Thank you! Now I know :D
Damage by fire: Nope. Not at all.
Damage by water: Possible. Maybe. Like - Yes.
just listen to those diesel engines on that boat pump some serious water at that fire. they are beautiful machines to watch run. operated by the best firemen in the world. god bless every last one of them.
At least engine 279 and tower ladder 131 didn't have far to go home when they took up. This entire fire was a bit of a rarity. 2 marine companies fully engaged and pumping plus car 3(chief of dept) actually being the first on scene and transmitting the
"urgent" 10-75 and 2nd alarm. Nice Video.
dgnkw thanks for info! Good to hear back stories
Yeah, impressive- but where's the fire?
Awesome video and a great catch Nick. I was listening to the radio when this box came in as a verbal alarm by car #3 COD Leonard which is also pretty rare. It's amazing how powerful FDNY's new fire boats are compared to their predecessors from the late 20th century. (Perhaps with the exception of the original Fire Fighter) Your video proves this point very well..
I love watching the FDNY fireboats. Truly awesome power
Boy! Watching the fireboats working with those ginormous streams! There isn't any type of window made that could withstand those streams for any length of time. I think it is really great that steel from the two towers was used in their construction. A HUGELY fitting memorial to 9/11. Great video job!
Very impressive, all the water being used.
A lot of it was coming fresh from the lake or what where they’re in
Nice we were there too. Didn’t see you. I heard about that bridge view but I didn’t get to go there
Please post yhe link to yalls video
Those Hose kinks at 7:09 gave me some major anxiety
Woah, now that is really cool, something about watching so much water pour on that factory is satisfying.
My Uncle Jim was an Engineer on an NYFD Fireboat 75 Years ago. 👍
Now that's how you put water on a fire
Endless supply of water and great water pressure.
This is the exact reason you learn all those boring ICS incident comand classes in fire school. Know your resources and find people to utilize what is available. Alot of practice, teamwork and ideas going on there.
That one fire boat just shooting water back into the water, that has to be at least a 2" top on that deck gun, impressive
Tuffy Warner
That was done on purpose the system was off and was being drained
“Massive fire “ lmao did I miss that part ?
behind the scenes
Looks to me it was an exercise for training not a real warehouse fire.
I agree. I didn’t see it!
Looks more like "massive water" :P
Now that is one mean Fireboat, keep safe brothers.
Those boats could handle one of the big old water thief's,!!!!! Awesome volume and pressure!!!!!!!! We gotta get a hold of a river !!!!! GREAT VIDEOING ALSO..
Watching the larger boat use its deck cannon reminds me of watching film of the Super Pumper in action.
Impressive work from the boats. Great job.
Yet another reminder just how powerful water is .it even cuts metal. Ive seen it brake dried concrete out of steel pipes. Water is awesome and kinda needed for us to live.
. . . and everyone is happy again to have his contribution in a huge emergency lights competition - oh look, my ones are brighter - no, my ones flash faster - no my ones jump higher . . .
that sure is BIG water, even the smaller fire boat has lots of ump !
i think its coming from the river or ocean waht ever they on and it goes in and makes the boat shoot out the water idk
John an engine can pump up to 1500-2000 gpm in certain circumstances. Good luck finding that much water, and your engine will be screaming (as will your engineer), but if you’ve got the water, these will move it.
I am not American and I have not seen many fireboats before. They take water straight out of the lake/river/ocean they are on right? Pump is straight out of the body of water they are on? Also I love how that one boat is gunning it right up against the dock to stay fixed in place that is great.
To the people asking. The fire was inside. Not visible outside.
1987 San Francisco considers getting rid of fire boats. 1989, Loma Prieta Earthquake, destroys all water mains in the Marina district and it is on fire. The Last SFFD fire boat, the Phoenix, starts to pump water out of the bay to an auxiliary hydrant system which allows the Fire Department and average citizens to save the Marina District.
Those fire boats are badass! Keep up the good work!
When in doubt blow the building over with water.
No building, no fire - Stalin Boat
If they only got the water on the fire, the best clean walls on a burned out building. Still nice video of the boats.
Heli-Crew HGS i know you’re smarter than that..
I think they are hooked up to a water supply, lol
They’re hooked up to the fucking water they’re floating in lmao 😂 literally drawing an endless amount of water from right beneath them.
They can't take water out of the river, it's dirty and the fish will clog up the pump. Also the EPA would be all over them. Lol
Clyde Dooseldorph imagine seeing fish flying out those water cannons lol
Athens fire boats were awesome. Great video.
the small boat seems to be more efficient than the big fire boat...at all it looks like that the sink the house :-D
The boat with the blue light is The Coast Guard vessel.
@@bohemoth1 no its an FDNY vessel
If you look close you can see the water level drop lol
Nice catch nice views of it all.
What a awesome video chief thanks so I always wanted to see how they had to do it
3:02 thank goodness he was replenishing the water
This is very nice. I hope the entire country have more with these firefighter equipments to fight the wildfire in California. Ship that can divert the water from the sea to the huge portion of a land. This will require a very strong force.
With minor exceptions, the fires in California are many miles from the coast.
Ya finally made it to one out of Manhattan! Lol You get a car? Great footage brother! Absolutely fantastic! Seeing those marine units in action like that is truly a beautiful and AMAZING sight! I'm blown away by this footage man!
He swam across.
Yeah lol good one
Awesome video! Congrats! 😀
That thing on the wire in the beginning gave me the creeps
Geez. Opening shot of ladder truck looks like me pissing in the toilet
Wow those boats can deliver so much water
Man, that fireboat must have big watertank ... just kidding :-D
They likely took it from the river or harbor.
Mike Gallant come on mannnn.... you can’t get the sarcasm here
Water system ...
Very good
Love this video watched it 15 time's already remind of my old TV show called code r
Hello I am a teacher from Bradford. I am creating an educational video for young people teaching them about the importance of respecting our emergency services and recognising the sacrifices that they make every day. I would love to use some of your footage if I am allowed with crediting of course. Thanks so much.
I love that big ass water cannon on that big ass fireboat
Accidentally set fire to this building, they thought it was a food facility
What is the flow rate from that central water cannon on the boat? That looks insane 😮😮
Awesome footage 🙂
Grab a water supply.... said no boat operator ever
Here’s the pros at work.
So why are they plowing into the sea wall? Also why is the bigger boat pushed far back not spraying the fire as much? Awesome video
Little boat is getting some.... Big daddy boat.... Hold my beer.
Everyone talks shit about a first responder but I don't c u out there doing their job on a daily plus their job is way tougher than u think
a massive water pump with a boat around it.
Did the squad guys get enough time to walk in and get salty and then walk out for the cameras to see ?
Nice job on video!!! 👍
I pee a stronger stream than was coming out of the ladder truck at the beginning of the video.
@Mr Sunshines Jokes exist
Mr Sunshines people like you are proof idiots continue to evolve to new levels of stupidity.
Don't cross the streams
anyone wonders why he’s got the throttle down cause the spray wants to push the boat backwards the other boat it pushed the stern off the wall 😎🤙🏻🇺🇸
i love the boats watercannons so heavy mush water the use
How they can even fight the fire! #TEAMFIREFIGHTERS
Could someone please explain why it is necessary for every single emergency vehicle present to keep their flashlight on the entire time?? A couple blocking the roads I'd understand... but all the others, I do not. It makes the entire scene so hectic and panic like... And it is not like they would be invisible without them :P
That said, the water jet of them boats... UNREAL! Amazing power.
Awesome video!
Man the fireboats Ended it!
1 FireBoat Looks Very Big WOW!! Is this the New Fire Boat from NYFD??
Sebastian Warth
Yes new boat. #343
Sebastian Warth FDNY
Actually this is 343’s sister ship “Firefighter II”.
Sebastian Warth yes it is it cost 27 million dollers
WOW Yes Bat is A Fire Boat for Rescue and Safe Live in NY!!
sold for 14 million in 2007. insurance fire for sure.
great footage
Awesome.
Love it
Must be practicing 4 vhen and if the building ever dose catch on fire!!!!
I am wondering that despite the thousand flashlights not a single truck has a light pole and the scene is so dark. Wouldn't it make sense to have more light to see what you do instead of flashlights on the trucks everywhere?
These are a major reason why there are no big protests near the waterfront.
Impressive !!!!
the most water put on any fire ever....unlimited supply.
That’s a little bit of water. I wonder how many gpm is going trough the big boat?
in reality there was a troll sitting inside the factory with a lit match stick
So how often do these fire boats actually get to pump water onto a fire? Also I bet 201 is having a rather hard time with its supply line kinked up like that.
Yup looks like a FDNY fire everybody standing around
Mark Smith safety, building isnt safe to enter, esp. With fireboats pouring tons of water in every minute
yes lets send guys into a vacant building while we have a tower ladder pumping tons of water in and the fire boats pumping water in totally safe to enter.NOT
Don't be ignorant. If you don't understand firefighting safety and tactics don't criticize them.
Mark Smith i feel like you may be joking but cmon theres hundred of extra guys there lol what do you expect them to do if they went in theyd all trip over each other or some shit
I thought that is how all union workers were, not just FDNY
Nice Great job
That's what you might call big water! WOW
Good video thanks
nice job FDNY Response Videos
Bravo
13.9 gallons per second. Take a moment to think about that.
Fantastic video recording equipment. The contrast was just fantastic. I could see amazing detail of the night fire scene and yet you could pick out night clouds and dim objects in deep shadows. What kind of a camera and lens were you using? It's one of the best I have seen for use on RUclips. Best part was your camera was not constantly refocusing except on occasion. You have some serious camera work there. I want a camera like yours.
0.10s Prostate trouble.
What fire? No flames no smoke no orange glow even.
Anyone have any idea how many gallons per minute that huge boat across on the left side of the stream is putting out?
Is it really that rare that u see the fire boats flowing on an actual fire????
Was it a trashcan fire? I didnt see anything but water ruined roof and landscaping
Was that boat 343 shooting that large water connon into the building
fire was probably caused by the same people who vandalized the property...
My memory isnt real good these days, but, wasnt Chief Wozinac one of the survivors after the towers came down?
