I got so excited watching it start up for the first time. Thanx for sharing the entire rebuild process, the experience was priceless for a currently Porscheless viewer.
You guys are the best your growing way too slowly for the quality you put out I always like and comment,. Guys show your support share most of the other car channels are crap compared to them.
Speed Academy I dont know if you remembered when I was upset over the s2000 fenders before you fixed them but it was just because I have such high hopes for you guys. keep on doing you.
relatively new subscriber but have been following this whole build and watched many other videos, one of my favorite channels to watch, very informational, good quality, professional with a hint of comedy thrown in every once and awhile!!
Very nice upgrade for an older vintage. One concern is the Fuel line under the crossmember? The first time car bottoms out or drives over an object the fuel line crushes or get ripped out
I've always loved the 930! I worked in a Porsche dealer in Raleigh,NC in '87 and drove lots of them. Great cars. I can't imagine how much money you have spent on this upgrade! Porsche engine parts are very pricy.
We figured with the tank being out and cleaned but not inside, there would be some sediment and what better way to catch it then run a filter through the system.
I have two wires traveling running from one end of my car to the other. A power #2 and a ground #2. All the control signals are in one single fiber optic that I built, which talks to modules everywhere it has to… multiplexed. The notion of running complex harnesses and those huge connectors all through my Porsche, was TOO MUCH to bear, I just couldn't. I've had to build the modules since they aren't available anywhere, but nearly ALL the old wiring, which was all over the engine compartment and under the dash, are GONE! Woot!
uncovered Pete, c'mon. Btw, this build is high up there with the BadAss2000 as my favorites on the channel. The FRS and Ken's FD need some more love lol.
I liked the bolts until you put the center ring on. I like it with the ring better, really clean look. It's your car though! Do what you like. :) Can you dyno it right away without a clutch break-in period?
great to hear it fired up! I share your (obvious and well earned) excitement! and THANK YOU for replacing that wheel. I agree with the other commenters that the wood didn't work. no chance of getting that Momo wheel with a black rather than silver center? now change the wheels!
I tried to get a black wheel but there was nothing available so I went with the next best option. I may try to track down an all black version in the future. And you'll have to wait and see what I have in store for wheels. :)
center ring on looks cleaner. You could also get a Porsche logo for your Momo if you'd like. They sell those as well. Glad to see you ditched the Grip Royal. I've seen them crack and bend during track use.
Please go with the exposed bolts! I personaly think the Setup with the ring on makes this beautiful steeringwheel look hideous. Your car turned out perfect and i can`t wait to see some dinoruns and some nice racetrack laps with this beast. I hope you´ll have a ton of fun with this milestone of german engeneering. Have a nice one and greets from Germany!
That Momo Retro is pretty cool, but I would go for the Prototipo model, in my opinion it would suit that 930 better. But it's just my opinion... Go for the exposed bolts look, and add a Porsche horn button to it. Great build Pete, can wait for the next episode.
9:23 "I don't know"...10:39 "Cheated this angle"... That's music to my ears, sounds like the shop I used to work at . I was waiting to hear "It looks good from my house"
I love this shit, thanks for all your hard work you guys are awesome, side note I have not forgot about the s2000 itb tuning and dyno wrong when is that good stuff coming?
Exposed bolts look more race car. The ring, especially with a Porsche logo horn button would almost look like it was a really nice factory option. I like both but would probably go option 2.
Great build! My fave build of all so far.. 2 questions 1.) aren't you concerned about crazy IATs with your intake like that? Or you're worried about hydro lock and dirty filter if your keep it straight on the turbo mouth? 2.) are you planning on doing anything more with the exhaust tip? It looks kind of unfinished in my opinion perhaps a slash cut tip painted black or a weld on double wall tip maybe something like that..
The fresh air feeds from the spoiler directly into the intercooler and intake area so there's no need to plumb the filter outside the engine bay. Although I have seen it done. I feel the same way as you, I do have plans for the exhaust tips, I'm just not sure as to what exactly I'll do with them.
Exposed bolts, and I actually liked the wood steering wheel :P
Wood steering wheels are great
+Camhin1 own a genuine woodgrain nardi. Can confirm.
I totaly agree with you.
Agreed, I liked the wooden wheel, too, and felt it fit the Porsche well…
I got so excited watching it start up for the first time. Thanx for sharing the entire rebuild process, the experience was priceless for a currently Porscheless viewer.
Great to hear that you've enjoyed the series!
Exposed Bolts - All day. Can't wait to see the dyno video, happy to see this awesome project come near a huge milestone!
i like the wooden one better, idk why people was complaining haha and this turbo sounds really nice!
Fabulous stuff, exposed bolts for me. Great to watch the lads getting the motor running - what a noise. Thanks for posting
I love the momo wheel. Expose the bolts!!
It sounds so smooth!
You guys are the best your growing way too slowly for the quality you put out I always like and comment,. Guys show your support share most of the other car channels are crap compared to them.
You are so right, i dont know why they dont have way more subscribers yet.

Thanks so much, we're trying hard to grow the channel!
Speed Academy I dont know if you remembered when I was upset over the s2000 fenders before you fixed them but it was just because I have such high hopes for you guys. keep on doing you.

I've said it before but I'll say it again: I love this channel. Can't wait to see it on the dyno. Good choice on the steering wheel 👽
Thanks so much!
Bolts exposed!!!!! Well done, can't wait to see the next episode!
I like the exposed bolts a lot more then the center ring.
The engine sounds awesome, looking forward to the dyno episode.
Engine sounds phenomenal!! Great video!! I like the Momo wheel! Exposed bolts!!
relatively new subscriber but have been following this whole build and watched many other videos, one of my favorite channels to watch, very informational, good quality, professional with a hint of comedy thrown in every once and awhile!!
Thanks so much! We're trying to do a bit of everything and educate while still it being somewhat entertaining.
Looks really really good. It's getting exciting.
looks like she came together nicely! congrats man you just resurrected a beast of a car. Cant wait to see a track vid in this beast.
That rev gave me goosebumps! It sounds so sick!
Exposed bolts on the steering wheel, your guys show rocks! Keep up the great work 😎
Exposed bolts all the way! Can't wait for the dyno video!
That wheel looks so good.
Very nice upgrade for an older vintage. One concern is the Fuel line under the crossmember? The first time car bottoms out or drives over an object the fuel line crushes or get ripped out
Aaaaaarghh that spool! Def the open bolt heads👍
Bolts for sure, I didnt mind the wood grain wheel - Each to their own. Nice car man.
ITS ALIVE !!!!!!! and oh man does it sounds amazing
Covered, looks clean, suits the look
That motor sounds sweet!
Congrats on the start up
It sounds so f...ing awesome!
YESS!!! shes alive!!!!
@13:51 - first run. I still like watching this video, so many years after the fact. Inspiration :)
Pete always doing a good job with the hose.
haha I try. :)
I really likehow honest your videos are. Great series!
Great video. Love the 'bolts exposed' on the steering wheel.
Nice work! Sounds like a beast...
awesome project, superb work and great footage
one does not simply stop watching you
Thanks so much!
It looks so nice, y'all deserve more subs
Awwwww yeah! Been waiting for this episode since you started!
never cared for Porsche but I'm in love with this one also uncovered steering wheel bolts
Sounds great! This has really been exciting to watch.
Holy hell that thing sounds beast.
Happy for ya maple leaf homie, it's aboot time eay!
It's alive!!!!!!!!
Very cool dude! Congrats! Oh....and bolts exposed on the steering wheel all the way!
Uncovered for sure!
Those harnesses are very nice!
Loving this build!
Awesome! Glad you like it!
The wooden wheel looks sweet!
Excellent series of videos, exposed bolts looks better.
Exposed bolts, great build, can't wait for dyno day
I've always loved the 930! I worked in a Porsche dealer in Raleigh,NC in '87 and drove lots of them. Great cars. I can't imagine how much money you have spent on this upgrade! Porsche engine parts are very pricy.
It's not cheap to do this conversion but worth every penny for me!
Center ring on looks nice and clean.
this is a dope Porsche
it's been while for me keeping up wow what a holy cow sound great
I'm really looking forward to seing the dyno video!!!
Thought the wood wheel looked good and if you like it keep it. Its your car, momo looks great too tho
Excellent! Good idea about running the the fuel back to the tank with an in-line filter first. Like the Momo wheel with the exposed bolts better👍
We figured with the tank being out and cleaned but not inside, there would be some sediment and what better way to catch it then run a filter through the system.
AHH YEAH IT'S ALMOST RACE CAR TIME!!!
Congratulations
The wooden steering wheel looked pretty cool already. Classic cars come with the best steering wheels.
Woot!
My excitement rivals Pete's! Probably not, I'm sure he's beyond stoked about this.
Oh it's been a long time coming so I'm SUPER STOKED!!
Uncovered for sure
Exposed bolts. Also, you can never go wrong with MOMO.
Nice Momo wheel Pete. Contemplating putting a Mod.78 Momo wheel in my k10 micra
Engine sounds awesome. Nice choice on the steering wheel. Hide the bolts. :)
I love watching these vids, thanks for the awesome work!
Great video! Engine sounds great. I'd leave the ring off with the bolts exposed.
uncovered Pete, c'mon. Btw, this build is high up there with the BadAss2000 as my favorites on the channel. The FRS and Ken's FD need some more love lol.
Thanks! The FD will get a video very soon, the FRS is in limbo so you may not see it this summer :(
Exposed bolts looks great
Center ring for the win.
I liked the bolts until you put the center ring on. I like it with the ring better, really clean look.
It's your car though! Do what you like. :)
Can you dyno it right away without a clutch break-in period?
Bolts Pete!
Uncovered for sure. Although I didn't think the grip royal wheel looked bad in it either.
great to hear it fired up!
Prefer with the cover on. Bolts makes it look like something is missing.
Uncovered bolts! it's a nice little detail
Loved the grip royal, deep dish wheels are so much more comfortable i feel like, momo isnt to bad though.
center ring on looks cleaner. You could also get a Porsche logo for your Momo if you'd like. They sell those as well. Glad to see you ditched the Grip Royal. I've seen them crack and bend during track use.
I may look into a Porsche center logo especially if I leave the center ring on.
I like the exposed bolts!
Yes centre ring looks the business
Bolts uncovered.
Major jounce there bros
amazing quality content as always! bolts exposed on the wheel 😎
It's been a hard decision to go with bolts or without. I do agree the exposed bolts looks very good though.
Looking SO good. Say - couldn't that fuel line run up and over that cross member instead of under?
Gawd I would kill to drive this thing!
The exposed bolts look great.
Exposed bolts on the steering wheel! Looks so much better
Exposed bolts looks way cooler. Definitely a big improvement over the old wheel.
That Momo Retro is pretty cool, but I would go for the Prototipo model, in my opinion it would suit that 930 better. But it's just my opinion...
Go for the exposed bolts look, and add a Porsche horn button to it.
Great build Pete, can wait for the next episode.
I originally wanted the Prototipo but it wasnt in stock and everyone has one in their Porsche so I think this is a really good alternative. :)
We're just waiting for our dyno guy to find time to fit us into his schedule!
Thanks can't wait great job you guys
glad to see this porsche guy became more personable
Exposed bolts look more race car. The ring, especially with a Porsche logo horn button would almost look like it was a really nice factory option. I like both but would probably go option 2.
That's what I'm leaning towards. More OEM look. Hope things are well Gabe!
Speed Academy Doing really good! Nice to have options, looking forward to see what you go with.
exposed bolts. grip royal was coolz
centre ring gives it that stock look
that spool sounds so sweet, Center ring please :D
I like the look of the bolts uncovered better then covered. I think the ring that covers the bolts looks a tad bit gotti.
Great build! My fave build of all so far.. 2 questions
1.) aren't you concerned about crazy IATs with your intake like that? Or you're worried about hydro lock and dirty filter if your keep it straight on the turbo mouth?

I feel the same way as you, I do have plans for the exhaust tips, I'm just not sure as to what exactly I'll do with them.
Definitely go with the exposed bolts!
Awesome car!....
I much prefered that wood wheel, but if you're gonna' run the other one, cover those boltheads.
