For dealing with the timber issues. Buy something called 7 star, or an equivalent rot protection product. Its treats for all types. Spray every bit of exposed timber and those around (keep doing until they don't absorb more) as it will migrate if you don't treat everything. If your able to remove the damaged sections, do it. If not If they are spongy use rot hardener and splice new timbers along side. Making sure to overlap the damaged areas by at least 1m each side over the length of the damage. Hope that makes sense and helps. Loving the content. Thanks
Great to have you back where you belong on RUclips, Scott, and as an added treat, it's a BBi video too 🙂. That powder coating work is incredible! solve the insect infestation and get someone to inspect the beam. last thing you want is come back to the storage unit and find the ceiling has come down on your projects!
I think you made it fairly obvious that one of the most critical things you need to care about when initially disassembling an engine, aside from taking plenty of photos, is to be fastidious about keeping your parts clean! Any residual dirt or grime not only looks terrible but it also risks being ground into any mating surfaces, which doesn't bode well for long-lasting oil tightness long after the job is done!
I have been doing a restoration on an old lotus for a few years now and can testify how time consuming and hard it can be at times. It takes dedication to see these projects through. Love your attention to detail mate, look forward to the next video.
The problem with any restoration is how much time it actually takes compared to any time limit you set yourself, when I restored my Suzuki gt750 back in 2018,it took me 5 hours to strip it down,I took loads of photos for reference,so at the start of 2019 I had everything ready to build it back up,within a few days I had a rolling chassis which meant I can roll it in & out of my shed, but with one setback or another,it took another 9 months to have it all back together, just in time for Covid lockdown,so I had to wait another 3 months, once done,it’s been bloomin brilliant, but my point is it always takes longer that you plan.car looks absolutely amazing, just gotta keep going & the more you get done, the more it motivates you to finish it off
I love your video’s Scott, especially on the BBi. I can’t wrap my head around how you keep track of which parts, screws and bolts go where and manage to keep everything organized. Hats off!!
Thank you first of all, Icannot understand how anyone would or could do this to any high end car let alone a Ferrari it sickens me but fortunately people such as yourself have the passion to find them and restore them back to their glory. Thank u for sharing, keep up the great work
I must say, you have better self control than I do since I would not have been able to resist powder coating the cam covers red (even though black is factory). I know it's a nut and bolt restoration, but red would have just made the engine bay pop so hard that I believe the Ferrari community would have given you a pass. Anyway, great to see this build progressing and keep up the awesome work!
So very happy to see you back Scott, and... on my favorite project. Need this one sorted to sell for a pile, and then go in one of several directions. Personally, I would get the Ratarossa convertible finished and in mint shape. Cheers!

And to know that he wasn't missing out on a quick flip for profit considering the amount of money and effort you've had to expend on it so far
This is still my favorite car on your channel. Reading about these in the Road & Track issues nearly 45 years ago in top speed shootouts or the Lamborghini Countach comparo's made me fall in love with the BB512's, then, there was this guy named Sammy Hagar who really drove it home just how cool these cars could be. Seeing them occasionally in the wild over the years has still kept this an aspirational car. Oh, and good luck with the termites!
A great update on the BBi Scott. Wow, that powder coating looks good. As for that dust from your roof beams, that may well be woodworm beetle attack. If you have lots of small holes in the timbers, that dust on your cars is proof they are live in the timbers. Hope that helps and never thought I'd be making comments like that on your channel!
Great to have you back Scott. Onward and upward! Missed your videos. The effort you put in to your rebuild is incredible! Looking so forward to your colab with Ricky.

Hi! good to see an update in the BBi. Did do some Nut and Bolt restorations myself (english offroad cars mainly) , that is a task :). Keep going it will be great in the end. Besides i have seen my share of carpentry and other wood stuff. That looks to me as if it could be the fungus Serpula lacrymans. the white outer edge and brownish inner and the parts on the BBi could be the spores. That will eat through the beam fast. Needs to be replaced and it seems the beams show sign of moisture, that is connected to the spread. best replace the one beam while the other is intact (if the joining sides are dry that is). Check where the moisture is coming from (drill holes on the roof side...) all needs to be dry! Also get someone to do a proper joint that will transfer vertical loads there is beautiful joints. In any case get at least one ceiling support from a friendly construction company until it is fixed! Not that something happens to the cars or parts... i would help you out if i were around, its not too difficult! all the best
