Thank you so much for trusting us with the unicorn Scott! So excited to get started on it!! ❤
I can’t wait mate it’s going to be epic
I think this is one of the most glorious engines I’ve ever seen. This BBI will be better than the day it was born. What a credit to you and ALL the time and drama. Scott, it’s just stunning.
And yes I think it’s worth every penny, it’s got to be the nicest example in the world? Is that one of Helen Stanley’s pictures behind your desk? Love it. 👌
You are saving a piece of Ferrari history, I definitely think you did the right thing!
*Well done Koni* Their sales manager was smart in associating their brand with this fantastic build
Dutch salesmanship.
I love this whole build series. Thanks for the content.
Stanceworks are doing an F40 build. Quick Scott, quick!!!
I am here for both. They will be different enough, anyway.
@@hmm3265one will get finished while the other won’t 😉
Mikes will be a track/road car, not sure what engine is going in it, but im sure Scotts will be more OEM. Although I do wonder where he got all the bits from as it was pretty much all from England.....
I’m here for both too, they will be very different as they each bring different skills and styles. Stanceworks goal of building the ultimate F40, is in a different lane from the Ratarossa aim.
@@MrJohnnyRoyale I think you might all be VERY shocked when you see what I have, it’s the other end of the spectrum build… that’s how different they will be. But I know everyone will love it …. 😁😁😁
Oh you're completely bonkers AND you did the right thing - that car in that colour especially is lovely!
As I recall you bought the BBi for £80,000 ?. Now having spent another £40,000 for a running total of £120,000 and I won't be surprised if you spend another £20,000 before it's finished. I've no clue what a concourse condition BBi ( likely amongst the rarest in the world) is worth, but I've got to imagine it's far more than that!.
PS Scott, personally I'm a biker and never really been a car bloke, but what seems like a few lifetimes ago in 1980 I was 18 and living in Ocean beach California and a university class mates father bought a brand new white BBi and that car I did fall in lust with. It's been a fascinating journey keeping up with this restoration & it's why I found & subscribed to your channel. Weirdly I hope you never finish it so there'll always be another episode to look forward to!.😂
bet its worth 250 completed
Scott for £40000 its not bad going, okay some more costs still to come but a pristine 512 BBi if you sold one today would net you £250,000 +. Absolutely the right choice. Missed this series so glad you are back on it, don't lose hope it's so easy when it takes so long to do.
Absolutly done the right thing. Can’t be wait to see it finished. Keep those videos coming 👍🏻
Thanks! Will do!
Haven't seen the BBI in a while...that engine is looking amazing!
Of course you did the right thing. And you are bonkers. You are awesome! You’re doing something no one has ever seen before and it is amazing. Cheers
There are plenty of race shops online you can get new rubber hoses from you just need to measure them. You may be able to get them in a neoprene or polyurethane too. The can use a heat gun to bend the hose into shop. I hope this helps and save you the ridiculous Ferrari tax!!
That's an awesome pressure washer! Never seen anything like it before. Love the long hose and wall mount.
I love it!
Hats off to you mate, brilliant. Keep on truckin. It will be amazing to see the end result.
Respect....
Thanks 👍
Just here in my unit putting my Ferrari 12 cylinder boxer engine together........Thanks so much Scott for letting us live this dream build alongside you!
Boxer or testarossa?
@@davidtaylor857 Boxer
Glad to see you’re back on the BBi build, great stuff 👍
Going to be nice to see your F40 project compared to Stanceworks project that he revealed yesterday
what an amazing job you have done well done Scott keep up the amazing work mate 👏 👍
Thank you so much 😀
Besides the insane quest to find the right parts and the high cost of those parts, it has to be so much fun to put together this big boy model.
this video makes you apperciate the level of engineering involved!
Scott you have definitely done the right thing, and glad you have stuck with it
Since the 512BB is my all-time favorite car, you have absolutely done the right thing! This 512BB series and car are epic.
This car should go into the Ferrari Museum. If not, it should go to a Modern Design Museum in London. Perfection.
Hats off to you Scott. I don't know how you keep going when all the parts are all over the place. You have definitely done the right thing though. I know it's costing a fortune but it will be worth more and the satisfaction you'll have once it's completed will be so worth it.
Wow, thanks!
Not bonkers. You're doing the right thing to preserve its history, and it's been top class so far, keep it up dude!!
Absolutely you are doing the right thing. We are all rooting for you!
I can't remember what you paid for it originally, but if you're in at £40K you're more than likely well up on the deal looking at what they're going for at the moment. When you've finished yours it's going to be at the very top end of BBs. Even fairly average ones are going for 200-250K and yours is definitely not an average one. You've got to be asking over £300K+ when yours is finished and I think you certainly deserve it! Cheers from a rather chilly Otford, Kent, UK.
That Engine is truly Beautiful Scott ! Love watching you work
The Boxer was always one of my bedroom poster cars growing up so I love watching you bring this one back to life. The engine externals look awesome. Can't wait to see the finished product done and running.
Love the build! I realize this all takes a lot of time. Glad to see the BBi back in the mix.
Omg looking amazing …. One of the best builds I have seen on RUclips….
Wow, thanks!
Absolutely fantastic. I have been on the journey before it was brought. Love it so happy for you
Hats off to you Scott £40k is a good deal for that level of work - A rough guess had me at 70k - Well worth doing right - you could have tarted her up for 10k but it would never have been right - Well done and you should be so proud of that job - Nearly there
Definitely doing the right thing as when your finished it will be the best BBi on the road and can't wait to see it finished! Great video and stay well.
The engine looks absolutely awesome! You are doing such an awesome job and I have really enjoyed watching the restoration. Cannot wait to see and hear it finished.
Thank you very much!
bro came back with an absolute bang
What an awesome update! Really enjoyed this one Scott.
Thank you kindly!
Great video Scott thanks for showing the details in the engine
No problem 👍
Absolutely doing the right thing! That BBI deserves the care and attention it’s receiving from you. It’ll be one of a kind when it’s finished and well worth the effort and the expense. Keep going pal, the end is in sight!
Thank you buddy 🙏🏻
That is the dream to rebuild a car like that proper nut and bolt resto. Love it
Nice to see you back Scott.
I did the same thing to a 1973 Corvette years ago spent more than the car was probably worth, but that car will always be mine Great job. I think you did the right thing you’ll enjoy this car, knowing that others can buy one, but you built yours. Nobody else have that.
The vette sounds dreamy. ✌️
Sometimes it is not about where you end but more about the journey itself. The progress is simply outstanding.
Hooray for the BBi! Glad to see it coming back together. It's a work of art.
You're going to end up with a fully rebuilt bbi...in bianco. So yes, the journey and expense will be worth it. This has been such a great viewing trip for us.. and today I learnt what a clutch being actually did!
The engine is a work of art. You have done a great job. Going to be amazing when done.
One of my favorites builds on RUclips. Keep the videos coming👍
Good to see getting back to regular uploads 👍🏻
Such an amazing project. One of landmark models Ferrari produced. Beautiful timeless design. Very clean, typical Fioravanti
Absolutely stunning car and what a build, when you were listing the prices I thought it would amount to a lot more, 40.000 seems within reasonable for this incredible machine. Good job and good luck for this final stretch!
Great to see things moving forward 😊
I like all the subtle F40 hints… the books, car models etc
Well spotted …. Do you spot the genuine wing badge though ?
That engine looks fantastic! well done 👍
Hell of a job. That engine is sweet!!
Thank you so much. Very kind 🙏🏻
This is one of my favourite build series by far - smashing it and loving how there are no corners being cut even though your brand is Ratarossa! $40k seems cheap given the value of the completed car. Well played!
Engine looks like a piece of art ❤
Watching this on my big tv this evening 😍😎
Als my preferred thing for RUclips.
That engine is absolutely gorgeous but the gasket set costing almost 7,000 pounds is incredible!!!!....Great video and you are doing an even better job on everything.....
£7000 is criminal 😁
I could probably make a replica set for 800 pound. But then it wouldn't be Ferrari OEM...
U did the right thing. I'm glad u saved the car
I am flabbergasted you are back so soon, you didn't make me wait for you like the last time😂
I’m trying hard to do regular content. Can’t promise but trying for weekly
I'm in the USA as for me yes yes and yes you are totally doing the rite thing. It's looking awesome.
Awesome! Thank you!
Beautiful work, as usual. That powder coating really sets it all off.
That engine looks amazing , cant wait to see what REP do with it
Engine looks very clean. Nice job👌
Thanks! 👍
Um Scott? Where’s our warm welcome back to the channel gone?
It’s cold now in the uk
Same place as his 'free Palestine ' bracelet
Love it Scott…. Keep the content coming, the BBi is the vehicle that brought me here
Looks unreal well done 👏
Thank you so much 😀
Love the builds, some of the best content on RUclips.
That engine is massive what a build
What a journey this is. 👏
Fantastic! Love to hear it run 🙂
You and me both!
Great content great project can’t wait for the sound of that engine start for the first time in decades 👍👍🙏🖖
Looks gorgeous Scott!!!
Well, you’re no Tyrell’s Classics Workshop, but you’re bouncing back nicely and your “ratta” heritage is ringing through. Keep it up mate. Cheers
Thanks dude
💯 gonna be worth it… gonna end up with 1 of ultimate classics…!!! 👍😊👊💥
Great video Scott. A wonderfully satisfying outcome.
You know the answer to your own question as to whether you did the right thing.
Greg - Kent UK
Loving these two videos! That 456 looks ready to review 😉🙌
Getting there mate
My childhood dream car... look at that engine, a thing of beauty. Just amazing work, Scott!
Amazingly good work! 🤩
Thank you so very much. Incredibly kind 🙏🏻
Keep them coming now,all the best.👍🏻

Stunning build, if worst comes to worst it will make a lovely coffee table, looking forward to see ot finished.
Always better to make your own. Love this transformation. Cheers

Thank you so much that’s very kind
good work ratman, its going to be awesome ,better than new!
Sir Rattie you have been missed!
Salutation’s from Belfast Northern Ireland 🇬🇧
The attention to detail is astonishing here Scott... Yes, it is costing you a fortune but this car could be worth half a million quid when all is said and done... Thoroughly enjoying this restoration. Cheers!
Thanks buddy
My favorite Ferrari since I was a kid back when it was new. Still is.
Absolute class content Scott. The feeling of pride when it’s done will make it worth it….not to mention how much it will worth 👍👍
Very good choice, and it's very nice to be witnessing it as viewers of this channel. I hope the videos pay for most of the cost and then you'll be able to keep it or sell it for a very well deserved profit. The standard you're restoring it to is way beyond factory in the 80's, so I really hope it gets finished and drives at least somewhat as good as it's going to look.
I have to admit you 're giving justice to this Ferrari BBi , keep up the good work . I love your content .
Beyond stunning.
oh scott that engine is a glorious work of art!! its fantastic !
Master class, great videos.
Many thanks!
Amazing build
Given the hundreds and hundreds of small bits and bolts, nuts and washers if you gave me £1,000,000 I couldn’t guarantee that all of it was done and was correct. Best to leave this to Scott and real experts.
You are completely bonkers and right to do it the way you did 😊
